2019 Honda Pilot exl all of sudden multipurpose camera doesn't work. As a result of the camera issue break system sign came on and all safety feature turn off. I didn't have any accident prior to the sign came on. Dealer is asking 1800+tax to replace the camera.
I purchased my Honda Pilot 2021 5 years ago. Currently still making payments on it. The collison mitigation system warning sign came up on my dashboard about 1 year ago. After that warning sign came on 4 others popped up. Road departure mitigation system, auto high-beam problem, adaptive cruise control problem, and lane keeping assist problem. Having all these warning signs come pop up on dashboard is very distracting while driving. Non of these controls are working and I have taken it to Honda to do an inspection. Since, its out of warranty I have to pay out of pocket $2,137. 63 to get multipurpose camera unit replaced. Let alone this vehicle is still not paid off. I've also had issues with the starter shutting off while driving. It had a recall and I did get it replaced but I'm still having issues. This is a serious safety problem due to it shutting off while on the street. I been in life threating situations due to this problem. Honda needs to make sure there vehicles are safe for customers. Sensor lights turned on and frequent events occurred causing lights to come on. Took to the dealer and informed me code u3000-49 multi purpose camera unit wave radar internal electronic failure upon researching several other people have the same issue and has not been resolved.
Without any advance warning, at times our lane departure warning system turns off with occasionally having the cruise control suddenly disengage. This could be a real problem when your not expecting it. Emailed Honda and they stated that there was no fix for it.

The braking system failed lane keeping assist stopped working adaptive cruise control stopped working forward collision warning stopped working it does not handle as smoothly since the sensors stopped working I parked in the shade I keep the sensors clean but they only will work when it’s cooler then 65 degrees outside.
The collision mitigation braking system problem, adaptive cruise control problem, lane keeping assist problem, road departure mitigation system problem and auto high-beam problem. All these are keep showing on my dashboard.
Turned car on one day and warning lights on dash. Acc problem, collision mitigation system problem, road departure mitigation problem, lkas, auto high beam, cmbs problem. Prior there were no issues took car to dealership and they determined its the forward looking camera u3000-49, see uploaded file. The front camera has failed without incident, windshield isn't damaged, windshield has not been replaced. When it malfunctions and myself or family are relying on this feature it becomes a safety issue.
It is a horrible system that makes driving with it on more unsafe. It never knows where the lanes actually are and makes adjustments that take you out of the lane all the time. It's unusable and unsafe.
My car is cycling through warnings about several systems including braking, power steering, trailer stability assist, electric parking break, emissions, low speed braking, collision mitigation, cruise control, electric power steering.
The front facing camera on my Pilot failed over a year ago. We took the vehicle to Honda its over 2,000 to fix it. When the camera gets hot all adas lights will go off and it effects the transmission my car went into limp while reversing I also have to pull over in unsafe areas to turn off my vehicle bc the camera heats up and the car freaks out.

The adas camera had an internal failure, rendering all of the driver assistance features inoperable. The camera was the one that came from the car new. The old camera is available for inspection. The problem was observed by an independent repair shop. There were several warnings about the problem before the camera failure in the months before.
2019 Honda Pilot ex-l receive alarms for malfunctions in the following systems: collision mitigation system lane keep assist adaptive cruise control road departure mitigation automatic high beams.
I got in my vehicle about a month ago to a lot of blinking lights. I immediately took my vehicle to davenport Honda in rocky mount, nc, who stated I had a misfire and it would be over $1000 to fix the problem. Approximately a month later, a few more blinking lights came on. It was the lane departure, automatic high beam and collision lights. I took my vehicle back to the dealership that stated it is an internal failure and now the entire camera will need to be replace quoting me another $1000 job. I currently have a crack in my windshield and cannot get it replace due to this internal failure. I have read several comments about this internal failure leading to believe me this should be a recall. I don't have $4000 to $5000 to put into a vehicle every 2 to 3 months.
I have a 2023 Honda Pilot elite. I have noticed a few times that the driver assist system doesn't work as intended during driving in snow or just rain. I will get an error message on my dash, "some driver assist systems cannot operate, clean area shown. " Honda wants the driver to pull over and clean the snow off of the h in front of the SUV. This also happens when it's raining and no snow. The driver assist sensors must be located there. What happens if I should get in an accident when this malfunction goes off and I get hurt or even kill someone? I see this complaint all over the internet from us owners on different forums. The dealerships are doing nothing. I paid a lot of money for this SUV. I expect it to work at all times, especially the safety features. .

Monocular camera electronic failure.
Just started, while driving in high winds: electrical power steering problem, vehicle stability assist problem, hill start assist problem, trailer stability assist problem, road departure mitigation system problem, emissions system problem. Brake system warning light is also on. I don’t have a towing system installed- so that’s odd to get a warning for trailer stability. I had an oil change @ 101076 miles, on 19 November 2024, and my tires were rotated at that time. This issue repeated itself today, 21 November 2024.
Multipurpose camera failure. Lane keep assist, lane departure, adaptive cruise control.
An internal failure on the front windshield camera assembly part #36160-tg7-a63 had caused the advanced driver assistance systems to fail. Which in turn has caused the following systems to fail: adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane keeping assistance, parking collision warning, and rear cross traffic warning. Leaving these systems unrepaired due to a known and common hardware failure issue leads to this specific vehicle and the ones similar unsafe for the driver and occupants due to the safety systems being inoperable. The problem has been confirmed on two separate occasions by my local Honda dealer. The known issue with this specific camera assembly leads to a multitude of warning lights being displayed including: adaptive cruise control warning, lane keep assist, collision mitigation system problem, and auto high beam mitigation.
Upon startup I frequently get the following warnings: -collision mitigation system problem -road departure mitigation system problem -adaptive cruise control problem -lane keeping assist problem -braking system error all mechanical systems work fine but cruise control and all of the “Smart” safety features don’t work. A simple google search will show hundreds of owners experiencing the same problem with this generation as well as odysseys that likely use the same system. Dealers want $1700-$2000 to replace the forward facing camera. However, this is clearly a defective part from Honda and they need to recall and fix it.
The truck lights came on, with no reason, acc and lkas dealer wants to charge 200 just to diagnose, I keep hearing many have thir problem, Honda needs to fix this problem that they know they have.
The system just shuts down. It may start working again but when it shuts down it is like you put on the brakes. Is usafe if you are being followed. 65.
During the last week, alerts would appear on my dash from the collision mitigation braking system and road departure mitigation system. These alerts will appear while driving at 30mph on a city street. When the alerts appear, the brakes are activated and the steering wheel locks up. The alerts immediately clear but it is very alarming to the driver and passengers. Yesterday while parallel parking, in the mist of reversing into the parking space, the systems triggered alerts along with a transmission alert. The system immediately put the vehicle into park and would not permit the change of gears. While halfway in the parking spot with the front of the vehicle sticking out into on coming traffic, I was forced to completely turn the vehicle off, wait about 3 minutes before turning it back on. This allowed me to complete parking the vehicle in the spot.

Normal driving of vehicle when suddenly several warning lights began to appear and show up every time when driving (lkas, acc, mitigation, etc) despite these features working. Honda dealership claims it is due to a faulty front camera. Safety at risk because if these systems do fail, there will be no way of indicating.
The front facing camera was working intermittently. When it wasn’t working all the advanced driving features would not work. After several months the car would intermittently go into limp mode per the dealership due to electrical confusion with all the codes/lights from the camera malfunction and shift while driving into neutral nearly causing me to have an accident while making a left hand turn. The camera had to be replaced at a large cost and they said it was not able to be repaired despite the fact that it worked perfectly 10% of engine starts.
I was traveling with my daughters [xxx] , and [xxx] , in the back seat. It started raining heavy just as I passed a vehicle and returned to the right lane. I reduced my speed, then felt the vehicle hydroplane slightly and felt the traction control system engaged. As soon as the traction control icon displayed, I began to feel the traction slipping and noticed a slight unresponsiveness in the steering. My speed suddenly dropped 15-20 mph, without braking, or any change in pressure on the accelerator. I then tried to accelerate, but was unable to possibly because of loss of traction I noticed the traction light was flashing. The vehicle I had just passed moments before was quickly approaching at roughly 65 mph (speed limit was 70 mph) and had no warning of the issue with my vehicle decelerating, luckily they were paying attention and able to pass safely. When they passed, I pulled off the road and had these warnings on the screen: - collision mitigation braking system. Cmbs problem. - lane keeping assist problem. - road departure mitigation system problem. I placed the vehicle in park, shut it off, then restarted it. The error messages went away, then came back on as soon as I started driving. The traction control light remained off and the rain subsided, but the warnings remained. Dealership is supposed to inspect Wednesday 07/31/24. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
With the lane departure warning- it alerts when the lane turning and when my blinker is on to change lanes. It does not alert when I change lanes without my blinker lane keeping assistance does not do anything engine idle shut off- when I am at a stop light and the engine turns off while idle, when I take my foot off the break the engine completely cuts off and the screen prompts me to shift into park. I the. Have to completely turn off my car and turn it back on. Sometimes it takes 30 seconds sometimes it take a minute or two to turn back on. This has happened at stop lights as well as on the freeway during stop and go traffic.
Vehicle would brake suddenly. Then shortly thereafter, the collision mitigation system error appeared on the dash. Honda dealership says the camera no longer works and the entire system needs to be replaced. The fact that the camera stopped working spontaneously is concerning.
Radar and multi purpose camera simultaneously failed. Dash lights came on indicating that auto high beams, lane keep assist, forward collision, adaptive cruise control, and braking system where not working properly. I think my safety and the safety of others where compromised with these systems not working.
Honda radar or multi purpose camera failed. Is available for inspection. Turns off extra safety features such as acc, lkas, lane departure system and cbms. Makes it more dangerous without said system. Unknown. Unknown. There were quite a bit of warning lamps, cbms problem, lkas problem, acc problem, auto high beam problem and more. They first appeared April 2024.
Front camera has failed. Dealership reports it needs to be replaced. I have crack in my windshield - now the glass company will not replace the windshield even with insurance because the camera is not working and they can’t calibrate. Having a camera on the windshield which doesn’t not work jeopardizes my family’s safety. There needs to be a plan in place to be able to replace windshield if the camera is not working and Honda should be investigated for front cameras failing. My car is just barely 3 years old. Why would a camera, which controls so many safety issues fail when a car is only 3? this should be investigated as a serious safety issue and as the rear cameras were recalled, the front should be invested too.
The warning lights beep and blink. All problems can’t be used.
