2 Engine Crank/camshaft Position Sensor problem

The contact owns a 2017 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated while driving 50 mph, the vehicle independently made a sudden stop, with unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed by an independent mechanic and the mechanic stated that the camshaft sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted and stated that parts were not available. The manufacturer was contacted, and the manufacturer confirmed that parts were not available. The failure mileage was 28,000.
