1 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2026 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 04/21/2026

Car was on the highway braking hard with the acc even if the vehicle in front was atleast 4/5 car lengths away. Moved to the right lane to stop it and came up to a box truck and the car automatically broke very hard and lka started jerking the wheel to the left lane causing the rear bumper to collide with the cars in the next lanes front bumper. My vehicle pit maneuvered into the median ditch and flipped once.

2 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2021 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 02/22/2026

Forward brake assist, collision mitigation, auto headlight dash lights came on sporadically. As of today the lights are now on constant and unable to clear. Advised that the forward facing camera most likely died and a replacement due to recalibration would be 1500-2000. .

3 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2024 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 12/14/2025

The vehicle’s engine and powertrain management system repeatedly fails with multiple dtc's triggering a full-system cascade of safety-critical warnings and automatic power-limiting. The issue affects the engine, transmission, emissions, awd, brake system, stability assist, steering assist, abs/vsa, hill-start assist. The vehicle is fully available for inspection upon request. During each failure, the vehicle abruptly enters reduced-power “limp mode” without warning—resulting in loss of engine power, disabled awd, and disables all safety/stability systems. These events have occurred in normal traffic, including at red lights and in intersections, creating a risk of rear-end collisions, inability to accelerate, and loss of vehicle control. I transport an autistic child, making reliability and predictable vehicle behavior critical to passenger safety as well. The problem has been reproduced and documented by multiple authorized Honda dealerships. The vehicle has now undergone 13 repair attempts in the first 14 months of ownership, across 6 different Honda dealerships. All have been unable to diagnose or permanently repair the defect. The vehicle has been repeatedly inspected by Honda technicians, who escalated the issue to Honda tech line. Tech line documents (dated 10/1/25) show that no aftermarket modifications exist and that the failure is verified but intermittent and ongoing. Warning lamps / symptoms: each failure event triggers a full dashboard sweep including: – awd system problem – emissions system problem – transmission system problem – power steering system problem – vehicle stability assist problem – hill start assist problem – brake system warning – road departure mitigation problem – blind spot information system problem there is a federal lawsuit filed filed in oregon district court case 6:25-cv-02142-ap.

4 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2018 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 10/09/2025

Multiple warning lights appeared and remained illuminated on my dash, all related to safety features (lkas, acc, cmbs and road departure). The problem was confirmed by capitol Honda service department. The vehicle was scanned and stored dtc was found at integrated driver support system. U3000-49 multipurpose camera unit internal electronic failure. The dtc was set as hard code, unable to clear. Recommend replacing multipurpose camera and performing calibration. The estimate I was initially given for the cost of the repair parts and labor was close to $2,000. The repair was necessary because the inoperable safety features directly affects my safety on the road as well as the safety of others. Honda sensing is a suite of driver-assist safety technologies that use cameras, radar, and sensors to monitor the vehicle's surroundings, alert the driver to potential hazards, and provide automatic steering and braking assistance to help prevent collisions. Key features include collision mitigation braking, which applies the brakes to avoid or mitigate a crash; adaptive cruise control, which maintains a set distance behind the leading vehicle; and lane keeping assist, which provides subtle steering adjustments to keep the vehicle centered in its lane.

5 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2024 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 09/15/2025

While idling at a traffic light,2 systems shut down: adaptive cruise control & road departure mitigation system. Also the brake system light came on, but the brakes continued to work.

6 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2020 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 05/19/2025

My Honda 2020 Ridgeline has intermittent faults on the dash monitor, it displays acc, lkas, collision mitigation, high beam, lane departure warnings, and sometimes transmission problem. I am told it is the muti cable assembly sensor on the front window not communicating with the other sensors. I took my car to auto zone and they stated no communication, due to a bad battery. I replaced the battery, and it still has the multiple errors/ fault codes. During research several people have had this problem with Honda vehicles. At times it goes away for a day or two and then comes back with the same faults. It seems like a faulty part. The dealer wants 1800 for repair and calibration of sensors, this was after they ran a diagnostic test and found no engine faults/codes.

7 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2025 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 03/21/2025

Unsafe auto high beams. They do not come on over 45mph. They have a mind of their own and seem to always come on and off at the wrong time. Also is dangerous to the oncoming vehicles that become impaired due to the high beams coming on when another vehicle is approaching. Especially most dangerous when you are on a 2 lane highway. Also the adaptive cruise control is inconsistent and seems to be very laggy and brakes way too hard.

8 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2025 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 01/17/2025

While driving with the adaptive cruise control and the road departure mitigation system engaged, then fails and disengages. The warning system indicates a problem that should be reported to the dealer. This has happened on multiple occasions and was repaired by the dealer when the car had 254 miles by replacing the tailgate upper wiring harness and the brake/cruise control switch. The part number replaced was 36750-ty0-j11 35350 sw. Since that repair, the problem has resurfaced at 4385 miles multiple times. After stopping and restarting the car multiple times, the systems apparently resets itself, but the problem reoccurs multiple times after that. I have no confidence that the system is consistently reliable. The problem initially occurred on Jan 17 2025 and again sept 19, 2025.

9 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2022 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 10/28/2024

This happened on the interstate. This happens repeatedly (about once per week) for my spouse, but today was the first time for me. I was changing lanes at about 75 mph, and the tachometer dropped to zero despite my further depressing the accelerator. I took my foot off and again depressed the accelerator and the engine reengaged. I have not had the dealer look at this yet. There were no warning lamps or other messages in the driver information.

10 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2025 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 10/26/2024

The contact owns a 2025 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated that the high beam lights turn on and off while driving 45 mph or above at night. The contact stated that the headlights were flashing oncoming drivers. The contact had to deactivate the feature. Additionally, while driving on two occasions using the adaptive cruise control, the vehicle was braking hard. The contact was concerned about being rear-ended. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the vertical mounting of the radar sensor was slightly off. The dealer leveled the system. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 99.

11 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2020 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 09/30/2024

Problem started without warning. A couple of days ago all of these are disabled, warning lights scroll through on dash: acc problem, collision mitigation problem, lake keep assist problem, auto high beam problem. It cleared once after restarting and once after service mechanic cleared codes. Issue returned the next day and continues. Built in safety features are not working. Deciding on having Honda dealer check it out.

13 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2017 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 12/30/2023

My Honda Ridgeline 2017 it started to not accelerate and a lot of lights came on. Check engine light, power steering, cruise control, abs, etc. The truck only goes 20-23 mph and it wouldn't run. Thank god I wasn't in the high or I would have crashed. I went to my nearest autozone to see what was going on and they told me that the camshaft position sensor is damage . And it do the fact that the camshaft is hitting the sensor. They took me that a lot of Honda's were having this problem. I should call the Honda dealer. I then call them and told them was had happened, they responded that it would probably need a new engine or an rebuild. A.

15 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2023 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 09/10/2023

Multiple issues that are safety concerns. 1. The lane mitigation system or forward collision warning system. These has been a constant problem from date of purchase. A. Repeated warning flashes on dash when driving on any type of road with a slight curve or a standard turn, also two lane roads causes terrible warning on the dash as well. Very distracting! 2. The adaptive cruise control performs a hard brake/ing when another driver enters into my lane (in front of me) which causes other drivers entering into or following me to also make evasive maneuvers to avoid hitting my vehicle. People think I'm brake checking them. Constant problem and is a serious safety issue. 3. This is also a huge problem and can cause the police to be citing me for a distracted driver violation. My infotainment system has connectivity issue and is very distracting which is a safety issue. Example: if I can get my phone connected correctly (constant connectivity issues typically at start up) while driving the infotainment system disconnects randomly and typically will not reconnect unless I stop my vehicle and turn it off so to reset the system. I am a cdl driver and touching or operating an electronic device (cell phone) will cause me to be cited by the police department, this has distracting me regularly. Honda is unwilling to do a software update to remedy these problems and I am gracefully asking for your help. We have spent 46k on a vehicle so we can have these safety features and this vehicle as been the opposite of safe. Super distracting and stressful to drive. I have spoken to the dealership four separate times about these issues but I recently found out by Honda that only one did the dealership document my concerns.

16 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2017 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 08/26/2023

When accelerating the engine bogs down and runs rough. All warning lights come on. After shutting off the engine and restarting everything appears to run normally however the warning lights stay on the cruise control does not work. After a couple of days the warning lights went off and everything worked as normal. The same problem manifested again while accelerating. The first incident happened Aug. 26, 2023, the second incident happened on sept. 3, 2023.

17 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2022 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 08/23/2023

On 08/23/23 multiple safety warning lights activated on my dashboard. I took my vehicle to my Honda dealer and after two days it was returned and I was told that it was repaired. The next day while driving the exact same thing occurred and I noticed that the vehicle was not accelerating normally and the brake warning light activated although there were no cars or objects in front of me. I returned to the dealership who kept my vehicle for 5 days returning it to me and telling me that they could not duplicate the error. I drove my car approximately ten miles from the dealership and all of the warning lights again activated and the vehicle was not accelerating as it had prior to this problem. I returned to the dealership and they now have the vehicle and explained that they will contact the Honda help line.

18 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2017 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 06/09/2022

Amber cmbs, lkas, and acc lights flashing with 19850 mileage. The entire crash mitigation system does not work from cruise control to braking.

19 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2022 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 06/01/2022

Adaptive cruise isn’t smooth. Accelerates and deaccelerates constantly when following another vehicle.

20 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2021 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 02/01/2022

This is a general issue that you can find in the forums of the Honda pilot/ridgeline/passport. Is affecting all of them. Very easy to replicate. When using adaptive cruise control and the person in front of you changes lanes. If that person that moved to another lane slows down your vehicle will slow down too, thinking that the car is still in front of you. This is a huge security risk that can cause a rear-end collision if the person behind you is distracted.

21 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2021 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 06/23/2021

Vehicle veering constantly while lane keeping assistance is engaged causing persistent swerving and inviding adjacent lanes as well as requiring additional distraction while system is engaged. Adaptive cruise control erratically and some times violently applies brakes, causing the following vehicles to constantly apply their brakes to avoid rear collision with the Ridgeline.
