1 Assist problem of the 2026 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 04/21/2026

Car was on the highway braking hard with the acc even if the vehicle in front was atleast 4/5 car lengths away. Moved to the right lane to stop it and came up to a box truck and the car automatically broke very hard and lka started jerking the wheel to the left lane causing the rear bumper to collide with the cars in the next lanes front bumper. My vehicle pit maneuvered into the median ditch and flipped once.

2 Assist problem of the 2018 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 10/09/2025

Multiple warning lights appeared and remained illuminated on my dash, all related to safety features (lkas, acc, cmbs and road departure). The problem was confirmed by capitol Honda service department. The vehicle was scanned and stored dtc was found at integrated driver support system. U3000-49 multipurpose camera unit internal electronic failure. The dtc was set as hard code, unable to clear. Recommend replacing multipurpose camera and performing calibration. The estimate I was initially given for the cost of the repair parts and labor was close to $2,000. The repair was necessary because the inoperable safety features directly affects my safety on the road as well as the safety of others. Honda sensing is a suite of driver-assist safety technologies that use cameras, radar, and sensors to monitor the vehicle's surroundings, alert the driver to potential hazards, and provide automatic steering and braking assistance to help prevent collisions. Key features include collision mitigation braking, which applies the brakes to avoid or mitigate a crash; adaptive cruise control, which maintains a set distance behind the leading vehicle; and lane keeping assist, which provides subtle steering adjustments to keep the vehicle centered in its lane.

3 Assist problem of the 2025 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 05/23/2025

This is a brand new 2025 Ridgeline with only 900 miles. The collision mitigation breaking system and the lane keeping assist system does not work properly on my vehicle. The dealer where I bought the vehicle (dick brooks Honda in greer) has insisted there's nothing wrong with the vehicle on two occasions. However, I took the vehicle to another dealer; the master technician said there might be something wrong with the radar system in my vehicle and to take it back to the original dealer. The original dealer won't even acknowledge what the other service department said about the radar system. Honda is just parroting what the original dealer is saying. I have a brand new vehicle that is not safe to drive and nobody is helping me. I have captured video on a gopro of some incidents when this occurs. These systems go off for no apparent reason. When I manually turn off the cmbs, there's a persistent warning message that appears on the infotainment screen entitled, cmbs problem. That message says: "the collision mitigation braking system has a problem. Restart your vehicle. If the indicator remains on, have your vehicle checked by a dealer. " the cmbs is malfunctioning, but how do I know if the system is off when I turn it off when this message appears? the dealer where I bought the vehicle from says "this is normal", but I know that is not true because I have looked at other 2025 Ridgelines and this message does not appear.

4 Assist problem of the 2020 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 05/19/2025

My Honda 2020 Ridgeline has intermittent faults on the dash monitor, it displays acc, lkas, collision mitigation, high beam, lane departure warnings, and sometimes transmission problem. I am told it is the muti cable assembly sensor on the front window not communicating with the other sensors. I took my car to auto zone and they stated no communication, due to a bad battery. I replaced the battery, and it still has the multiple errors/ fault codes. During research several people have had this problem with Honda vehicles. At times it goes away for a day or two and then comes back with the same faults. It seems like a faulty part. The dealer wants 1800 for repair and calibration of sensors, this was after they ran a diagnostic test and found no engine faults/codes.

5 Assist problem of the 2023 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 02/21/2025

While driving a slow speeds will stall. It has a stalled in the middle of an intersection almost causing us to get t-boned. The last time this happen I was driving in a shopping center going around 5 mph and it has stalled. The truck is currently at the dealership for the second time for the issue. Also the transmission while driving at slow speeds shutters and vibrates. Also the lane keeping feature tries to pulled us off the road while driving at slower speeds.

6 Assist problem of the 2020 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 09/30/2024

Problem started without warning. A couple of days ago all of these are disabled, warning lights scroll through on dash: acc problem, collision mitigation problem, lake keep assist problem, auto high beam problem. It cleared once after restarting and once after service mechanic cleared codes. Issue returned the next day and continues. Built in safety features are not working. Deciding on having Honda dealer check it out.

7 Assist problem of the 2023 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 11/03/2023

While driving the vehicle, the codes related to the following systems all began flashing: automatic emergency braking lane departure warning lane keeping assistance my 17-year-old daughter, a new driver, was driving the vehicle at the time and became concerned, distracting her from concentrating on the road. The next day when my husband went to check the car, now the check engine lights were now lit. I just brought this, less than one-year-old vehicle back to the dealership. I was advised the capless gas tank was broken and not closing properly. I am not sure why this should malfunction after less than one year of driving. I do not know if this causes fuel to escape if the tank is not properly closing, thus possibly causing a safety concern. This is in addition to the auto-restart recall that occurred on the car which we had repaired, but they will not perform the warranty extension for the auto-restart issue unless it actually strands my new driver in the middle of the road after stopping.

8 Assist problem of the 2020 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 06/23/2022

Beginning about 3 months ago the automatic idle stop (ais) would randomly not function at start-up during the length of a drive though there was no indication of any issue on the dash. Shutting off and restarting would allow usually allow it to function normally. About 6 weeks ago the ais stopped the engine at a red light, and when I removed my foot to accelerate the engine did not start, the car shut off. It took a couple of seconds to realize the vehicle was down, I had to shut the car completely off and restart to get moving almost getting rear-ended since I did not move when the light changed even though my brake lights went off, confusing the driver behind me. Ais failing to start has become more frequent and now happens at least every other day. In traffic this is a safety issue for sure. Additionally, the lkas system randomly displays a new message on the dash that it is disabled for a few seconds while driving on the freeway and then clears itself. Other seemingly related electrical issues started at the same time. On several of the occasions that the ais failed to restart, all dash lights flickered rapidly, and the speedometer needle bounced wildly. After shutting down and restarting the a and b trim computers had been zeroed as well as the mpg average being zeroed, and the economy mode had been switched of. These nuisance electrical issues are not a safety concern themselves but may help point to a common failure which does cause the safety issues of the ais and the lkas systems. I believe you are investigating similar ais issues on the Honda pilot which shares many of the electrical and drive train components with the Ridgeline.

9 Assist problem of the 2017 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 04/01/2022

Issues with overall dash system. If truck is locked and off the truck will continuously attempt to start and will set the alarm off. Have been unable to leave the truck locked for a year now due to this issue. This has also transitioned into most of the safety features no longer working.
