1 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2014 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 12/31/2021

Since January I have stepped on ther brake pedal at lease 6 times and the pedal has gone almost to the floor. I release the pedal and it came back up to the original position. The dealer did brake maintenance on the front. Said the pads were sticking. Recomended new pads and rotors. I okayed new pads and rotors be done. They also did maintenance onthe rear axle brakes. Yesterday the brake pedal went down to the floor 2 times in 5 minutes. This was all done at the dealership. This morning I dropped the 2014 Honda Ridgeline at an independent auto shop to see if they can solve this problem.

2 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2017 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 07/21/2017

Truck has a very noticeable clunking sound in front of vehicle when going over bumps. Sound started around 1500 miles. Dealer said is was most likely the brake pads as there is a TSB out. They didn't bother to check and see if the struts were defective. This new truck sounds like it has 100,000 miles on it. I'm very concerned about the safety of this vehicle with these types of noises coming from the suspension/brakes.

3 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2017 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 05/01/2017

While reversing and applying brakes pads making clunking noise. When switching into drive right afterward brakes make clunking noise again. Dealer continues to lubricate and adjust but noise keeps coming back. Loose pads might be a safety concern if they fall out or move at high speed.

4 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2006 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 10/14/2011

Took truck to Honda dealer for routine maintenance and asked them to check rear driver's side brake because it was making a noise and seemed to be gripping after I would release the brake pedal. They told me I need new brake pads and new rotors. They told me the brake pads are metal against metal, there's too much rust on rotors. They want $554 for the front, $544 for the rear. I asked if this wasn't premature for such a worn brake. I drive the Honda 3 times a week on average, moreso in the winter months, and my driving has been mostly highway so I am not doing a lot of braking. I am not certain this is normal wear and tear by any means. I can't believe it would be on such low miles. I won't buy another Honda in the future though.
