Honda Ridgeline owners have reported 6 problems related to other fuel system tank assembly (under the other fuel system category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Honda Ridgeline based on all problems reported for the Ridgeline.
Vehicle displace emissions system issue light. Took vehicle to dealership service and was told the entire fuel tank needed to be replaced - advised by both dealership and insurance adjuster that this has become common in the last three years since a change in manufacturing and the use of a different kind of plastic in the tank. The service associate at the dealer then showed an entire dumpster filled with replaced fuel tanks.

Fuel tank neckline freezes in cold weather, and you can't put fuel in the tank. This is very dangerous in the cold, the neckline freezes and you cannot knock it lose etc to get fuel. . . Someone could potentially freeze to death!!.
After a snow storm capless fuel fill froze. Was unable to insert fuel nozzle to fill tank.
Ice forms between the outer flapper and the inner flapper of the capless gas tank in the fuel door. This prohibits the owner from placing the fuel nozzle into the filler neck to add gasoline to the vehicle. This incident happens when outdoor ambient temperatures reach freezing. It is more likely to happen when it snows, rains, or the vehicle is taken through a car wash.
Capless fuel filler allows water to collect between the outer door and the inner door of the filler neck. Approximately 15ml of water collects in this area after any rainfall. The water enters the tank when the fuel nozzle is inserted. Water in the fuel system can cause vehicle performance problems as well as maintenance codes which require dealer service to repair. In cold climates, the water freezes preventing fueling of the vehicle. This situation has happened to me twice already this winter, one time required the vehicle to stay inside until the ice melted and the water could be extracted.
The gas gauge does not accurately indicate the fuel capacity when the vehicle is in motion. According to the pearson Honda dealer, located on hull street road, midlothian, virginia, the gauge is operating "normal". When the gas tank is full, the dashboard indicator is showing, 3/4 reading. As the vehicle is driven longer, it's difficult to know the fuel capacity due to the faulty reading of the gauge. I'm convinced that there is a problem, notwithstanding the assurance from the dealer. My research into this gas gauge issue with the Honda Ridgeline, indicates that the 2010 Ridgeline model, also had report relating to this gauge issue. I do need more reliable assurance about this gas gauge issue.
