Front Suspension Lower Ball Joint problems of the 1996 Hyundai Accent

Two problems related to front suspension lower ball joint have been reported for the 1996 Hyundai Accent. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Front Suspension Lower Ball Joint problem

Failure Date: 05/01/1997

Recall work completed on the lower control arms (rivets), however failed to prevent failure.

2 Front Suspension Lower Ball Joint problem

Dealership refused to perform the recall 02v341000 repairs for the lower control arm. They indicated that the part did not need to be replaced. Within 2500 miles of the dealership inspection the recall defect occurred. Both lower ball joints needed to be replaced. One ball joint rusted through, and the other had developed a fracture.
