One problem related to alternator/generator/regulator has been reported for the 2008 Hyundai Azera. The most recently reported issues are listed below. Please also check out the statistics and reliability analysis of the 2008 Hyundai Azera based on all problems reported for the 2008 Azera.
Oil leaks from the front cylinder bank straight into the alternator causing it to fail prematurely. The NHTSA issued a recall for this exact same issue for the 2006-2012 Hyundai veracruz (NHTSA campaign number: 14v415000). You concluded in the consequence paragraph "an unexpected failure of motive power while driving increases the risk of a crash. " I'm deeply concerned of this happening with my Hyundai Azera as it currently has oil leaking into the alternator. My Azera has 80k original miles. The Azera uses the exact same engine, front cylinder bank gasket, and alternator as the veracruz and subsequently suffers from the same problem that led to the recall issued for the Hyundai veracruz. Please review and compare my claim against the existing recall for the Hyundai veracruz as outlined above. I feel it's worth noting I also currently own a recall effected veracruz and have both vehicles for side by side comparison. I thank you for your time and efforts exploring this issue on my behalf and all other Hyundai Azera owners. Let me know if I can be of further assistance in this matter.
