1 Equipment problem of the 2014 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 02/26/2026

The abs control module needs replacing. The day it started with issues, my abs light as well as esc light, at first. Later all dash lights came on, loud beeping and eventually lost all power while driving. I understand the "fuse" was replaced during recall, but if the damage was already in the making, why should consumer have to pay? I have had it to two different mechanics, first was Hyundai dealer, both diagnostic ran, both same problem. Abs control module going out, interior failure!! my car only has 80,000!! yes, it 12 year old vehicle, has had routine maintenance and garage kept. This is a safety issue and should be taken care of by dealer.

2 Equipment problem of the 2006 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 11/07/2024

When driving, if you encounter even a small bump in the road, the car jumps as if it were a train jumping the tracks and getting back on track. If it's raining, it feels as though the vehicle is sliding across the road. (finally, realizing that I was sliding across the road).

3 Equipment problem of the 2012 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 04/20/2024

My engine failed after only 104k miles. I took my car in to get an oil change and it had rod knock which randomly started when I had oil already in the engine. This was just a random failure because it was completely find the day before and then the next day it started when I knew I was going to put more oil in in just in case and it failed.

Failure Date: 12/11/2023

Vehicle recall issued. No remedy is being provided within a reasonable time.

5 Equipment problem of the 2013 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 09/22/2023

Hyundai recall #251 was originally issued in late September of 2023. It is now almost 6 months since issuance and remedy has yet been transmitted to Hyundai dealer repair facility. It is very well accepted that the remedy will be to replace the abs fuse, a fairly easy fix, but still no official letter or notice from Hyundai. Six months during winter months to keep car outside for safety is dangerous and unsafe in itself. Personal note - I love my Azera, but will definitely not buy another Hyundai because of their unacceptable delay in this recall repair.

6 Equipment problem of the 2013 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 09/06/2023

I was recently told my cam / crank sensor needed to be replaced, it was giving a code when the auto store plugged in the machine to the port. A few misfires also showed up. On September 6th 2023 at 715pm our car engines started to overheat, and then caught on fire. Due to the fact we were homeless we lost our home. I have no idea why it caught fire or why it was over heating. The oil has been getting changed more often than when I first bought the car, the engine oil light came on once a few months ago, and the oil was low, I wasn't sure why it was doing this, especially since I had just recently had an oil change prior to this happening. As with the car fire, my recent oil change was on August 28th, the coolant was full. So I have no idea what was going on. The two mechanics that I took my car to do work on, never mentioned anything out of the ordinary. We are homeless the address is our mailing address. I do not have a phone because it was lost in the fire, along with my whole wallet, my social and any recent work that has been done on the car. The number being provided is my son's phone. It is there to reach me if needed. I would prefer to correspond though email if possible also.

7 Equipment problem of the 2016 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 04/29/2022

The hydraulic hood lifting "hinges" did not hold the hood up. When I raised the hood to fill the window washer container, the hood fell, unhindered, on my left wrist, as I was taking the cap off of the filling tube. 2 seconds later it could have been my head as I would have been over the washer reservoir opening. The hand was very bruised, and the wrist was cut. (really hurt) went to the dealer & he said this was the first Azera they had heard of with the problem but had seen several sonatas with this problem. I believe the hydraulic lifters are the same, so perhaps the problem affects both models.

8 Equipment problem of the 2006 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 09/09/2019

Sometimes I go out to crank my car and it will not start. Once the car is started and in motion it's alright but once I turn it off and immediately turn it back on it will not start. I have to wait sometimes five to ten minutes then it will crank again.

9 Equipment problem of the 2006 Hyundai Azera

10 Equipment problem of the 2012 Hyundai Azera

11 Equipment problem of the 2006 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 06/01/2019

The vehicle has a random, chronic no start issue. Everything appears to be working normally, and you will turn the key with no crank. All the dashboard lights work, everything is as normal except it wont turn over. The dealer will not help. They refuse to even attempt replacing parts with my approval, just to try to rule things out. Due to my own investigation into the problem, we have successfully replaced the transmission inhibitor switch twice with good results. That switch will not allow the engine to crank if the car thinks the transmission is not in park. The first time the repair worked for 1 year, and the second time 6-8 months. I'm having the problem again, not sure where to turn for help. Dealer is useless, local shops have no better ideas than I do.

12 Equipment problem of the 2017 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 05/20/2019

Not sure that it's so much of a safety issue,as it is a black paint issue. I bought the truck in the early part of may 2019. I washed it a week later and noticed black bubbles toward the drivers back window. When I had problems getting the truck to pass emissions. I took it to the dealership. I pointed it out to the saleswoman. She didn't say much. So today I washed my truck again. Noticed 2 chips down to the primer on the hood. I took pics. I know we have a 7 year warrantee on the paint and interior. My problem is I'm afraid the repaint will not be nor last as long as the original paint job. I paid 53k for the truck with 6 miles on it. Now I'm the one with the burden that it might have to be repainted. I feel they need to look at their black paint. Make sure that the paint is reliable. I took pics. They could be better. I can take more. I'd also be willing to take the truck down so they can analyze the paint.

On three (3) different occasions in 2018 the engine of my Azera, with a little over 21,000 miles on the odometer, suddenly stopped on the highway. I contacted vallejo Hyundai to look at it and do the necessary repairs but I was going to be charged for it and I refused to pay. Eventually, I acceded to their demand for payment. It.

This vehicle had been same issues from very beginning after purchased yr 2013. Shaking entire vhehcle every morning and exhaust furnes so I took sevices severial times on dealer shop on pharr, texas. Nothing changed and nothing improved they just mentioned it came from original engine design and typical problems but nothing serious. Oct. 24th 2017 drop off my car at the dealer shop at pharr, texas and they did diagnosis and replaced some parts of the engin day by day. However they still do not know what is roots causes until today. I can't understand that how they didn't noticed roots causes and they just keep my car on their parking lot and they would not told me resolved date!.

16 Equipment problem of the 2006 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 08/11/2017

While driving at night, for the first time since buying our Hyundai Azera, I was horrified to find the headlights were barely visible and pointing at the ground. I had to drive with the bright lights on. Even after the dealer adjusted them we continue to have to use the bright lights for safe driving. It appears the inside of the lens covers, in front of the regular bulbs, are severely scratched or cloudy so the lights can't illuminate the roads! this seems like a serious flaw for night driving. We are often on two lane roads that are hilly and curvy, with the occasional dear crossing in front of us, as well as oncoming cars. If we dim our lights for them, we literally can't see the road in front of us, and practically have to stop until the oncoming car goes by. We inquired, and were told the entire headlight unit will have to be replaced and is very expensive. Both sides are bad. Please help! there is also a strange noise from under the car, a squeak and low thumping sound when on the interstate. We hadn't even made our first car payment when we became aware of these issues. Then the check engine light came on and we had to have the firewall side converter and top 2 sensors replaced at the hefty price of $815. 95.

17 Equipment problem of the 2008 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 05/02/2017

Takata recall. The air bag light is on all the time. The tire tpms light always comes on saying it failing. When driving the car is shifting funny, sometimes is jolts forward and sometimes it will not shift correctly. Car was also just stalling out at stop lights. It has not done that in a little while but it goes through spells where it will do it every time I come to a stop. I do not have an exact date when everything started.

Failure Date: 04/11/2016

Tire pressure monitoring system, there are frequently error codes reappearing with related relation to this vital safety feature. While the car is still under warranty the dealership has attempted to repair the issue several times, and yet the era code still reappear. They are unwilling to repair the tpms error light that continues to appear. It seems that this is a defect in the cars tmps system.

20 Equipment problem of the 2008 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 11/15/2015

Power seat and back rest operates at will. While operating the vehicle I have had the seat move forward rapidly causing a dangerous and unsafe condition. Hyundai has had many complainants in this area, and refuses to recall and repair the problem. How many injuries and death does it take in order to have the federal government act on this matter?.

21 Equipment problem of the 2009 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 03/11/2015

I paid a premium for an in-dash navigation system. Hyundai has now decided that they are not providing map updates for vehicles purchased before 2011. Despite complaints to their customer service line and a letter to their president, I am being told that I am out of luck and there is no fix for out-of date maps. Seems to me that the manufacturer has an obligation to provide map updates for the navigation systems in their cars and Hyundai has ignored that responsibility. This is a safety hazard.

22 Equipment problem of the 2006 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 08/18/2014

I was at a stop light and it turned green so I went and in the middle of me turning it died and started back up. It does this to me alot and I have had it in the shop they cant find anything wrong. I also have a problem with the lights diming everytime I decrease speed and my rpms drop damadically low.

23 Equipment problem of the 2009 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 08/12/2014

The first time, I was passing another vehicle and pressed the accelerator and the engine began to race and speed up. The pedal was stuck down. It was not caught on the rug and when I tried lifting with my foot it was not stuck down. The second time, the accelerator was pushed down, and the engine began to speed up and race. I had to put the car in neutral but the engine continued to race. I had to keep my food on the brake but the car as before continued to accelerate. . I had the dealer in renton look at it but they seem not to be able to access the problem.

24 Equipment problem of the 2006 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 07/10/2014

Brought my car in for recall campaign number 13v-354, repair was made but there was some damage to rear passenger side rim and tire. I bought 4 new tires but the car rode with a vibration. Made an appointment to have it inspected and was told the problem was with the new tires. New tires were installed. Still have a vibration due to the damage to the rim which was a result of the recall and the local dealer has not addressed the situation. I paid a lot of money to get service at the dealer, oil change, fuel injection maintenance new tires, mounted, balanced and front end alignment and still have issues. Alignment off due to second set of tires being installed, the car still vibrates due to damaged rim. I will not get the milage out of the tires due to the vibration. I would think that the rim should be replaced at no cost to myself. I drive 3000 miles a month, so for my safety, I stay up on my maintenance like I should. I think the dealer, rte 44 Hyundai in raynham should take care of my problem. I seem to be getting the run-around from them. Help.

25 Equipment problem of the 2013 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 12/26/2013

Two issues since vehicle purchase (Dec. 2013): (1) rearview mirror drops when closing driver door. Requires adjustment every time vehicle is used. (2) trunk pops open when vehicle is stationary or moving. Hyundai dealer advised that there was no explanation for this. Hoping to get the mirror replaced soon, but no answer to the trunk issues yet.

26 Equipment problem of the 2007 Hyundai Azera

27 Equipment problem of the 2013 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 02/14/2013

Exhaust fumes and soot accumulate on rear bumper marring paint and may cause other problems I. E. Monoxide. Have attempted to get it fixed at three dealers but they claim it's nothing and simply wash soot off. .

28 Equipment problem of the 2007 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 03/10/2011

While traveling on a highway, the glass of my sunroof 'exploded spontaneously". The time of incident was 6:15 am, the temperature was around 45 degrees and no adverse weather conditions. I was traveling under no overpasses, and no vehicles in front of me. I notice no object striking my car, my passenger and I heard a noise like a gun shot. I had the sun shade closed,so no glass entered interior of car, about 80% of the sunroof blew out leaving glass around rim intacted and the blown glass causing damage to top and trunk. Other driver behind me were blowing their horn to tell me it happen plus I could hear wind, I stop and looked at the damage the remaining glass had a upward blown out appearance with no glass left on sun shade. I know this is tempered glass which breaks into tiny pieces. It was good I had the sun roofs closed or I might have had flying glass in eyes causing a accident. I believe this was a manufacturer defect. If a rock had hit it the glass would had fell inward not out.

29 Equipment problem of the 2006 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 07/13/2010

In 2010 the rear sun screen would bind when you tried to retract it, Hyundai replaced the part since it was still under warranty. It was approx. 2 months later the same thing happened, in 2014 it happened again. Talked to Hyundai about giving me the part and I would pay to have it installed, didn't happen. I told Hyundai that I felt it must be a design flaw because it has broken 3 times in four years and once again the response was there was nothing they could do for me. Maybe Hyundai shouldn't produce cars with sun screens in them since it seems like they can't get it right, and is having trouble admitting the problem is their fault.
