1 Seats problem of the 2012 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 01/19/2023

On January 19,2023 my air bag light and check engine light came on in my Azera 2012 I took my car to the Hyundai dealership center in salisbury maryland they said after doing the diagnostic my car was going to need seat cushion for airbag light and for the door latch and will cost me with having a warranty 3265. 00 dollars . There is no recall on the car however the Hyundai motor company recalled my make and year as of may 22 2012 for occupant detection system may fail to properly differentiate whether the front passenger seat occupant is an adult or a child or a child restraint seat since my car was manufactured in may 14 of 2012 it does not fit in that recall however, what if my car isn’t recalled they say it could be recalled later my concern is I would like it to be covered under that recall for my car as of may 22, 2012 I feel that my car was not built up in those airbags in the standard that should be since my car was manufactured seven days before the actual recall date I would like Hyundai motor company to take care of all expenses for the the safety, and the fixing of the seat cushion as well as the door latch I feel that there is a safety issue while driving with the light going on and off and the dashboard blinking specially without the passenger side door latch and seat not working right, it wont detect a problem, or possibly the airbag could come out , it has been confirmed by the dealership pohanka Hyundai of salisbury , maryland, that the components were inspected and they were no insurance or police. Just a code popped up in the car dash in the car dashboard computer. I would ask that you guys would look into this and see that the manufacture independently conducts a safety recall on this and pays all costs of the safety recall and please fix it I can be contacted at 757-894-8324. Again thank you .

3 Seats problem of the 2007 Hyundai Azera

The front driver seat moves forward on its own while I'm driving and presses me up against the steering wheel. It's a random occurrence and I can't detect any pattern. Sometimes it can be move back into position, but not always immediately. Apparently there was a recall on this for other 2007 Azeras, but it doesn't apply to my VIN. Yet, it is happening on my car.

5 Seats problem of the 2006 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 11/28/2018

Seat: in August 2019, while my son was driving my car with both hands on the steering wheel and me in the front passenger seat on a city street the driver seat back started to fold forward to the point my son was screaming and scared not knowing what was happening he had to make an abrupt exit off the road into a parking lot we were passing. Once safely parked he pulled the latch on the side that controls the seat back and made the seat go back into place. Now as of may 2020, the seat will only go backwards and is stuck in that position and will not go forward at all. Suspension: I have had this car since the beginning of April 2014, I have had the suspension done I know at a minimum of 5 times to date, the last being 7/2/2020 and currently being told it needs to be fixed again!!!!!! this is ridiculous!!! engine: the check engine alert comes on every time I cut the car on for the last 2 years or so. Each time it was taken to the mechanic and the error code came up the same so I paid to get the issue fixed to no avail. The check engine alert continues to come on and I was told it is a sensor malfunction. Air bag icon: this has been on for the past year and I was told yet again that it is a sensor malfunction.

8 Seats problem of the 2008 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 03/27/2017

Started having a problem with the vehicle when my wife rode with me and the "passenger airbag off" light flashed on and off. Eventually, it started to remain on the whole time with her in the seat. Now the passenger seat belt unfastened light flashes constantly with no one in the seat. I took it to my local Hyundai to diagnose the issue and it is reading a fault code b1489 indicating an issue with the passenger occupant detection system (pods). Since there are numerous other Hyundai model's dating back to the mid-2000's that have had recall's on the pods, I am wondering if my vehicle may use the same seat sensor's that the other model's use. I haven't received a straight answer to if when the pods is defective, will the passenger airbags not deploy, or will they deploy no matter what should the event be triggered.

15 Seats problem of the 2007 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 12/03/2014

About two weeks ago, the back portion of the front driver's side seat began moving forward automatically while I was driving the car. I also noticed that when the car is parked the seat would move forward as well. When the seat moves forward, I am put very close to the steering wheel, which makes it difficult to steer and interferes with my ability to brake quickly. Also, because I am so close to the steering wheel, I believe that if the air bags were to deploy I would be unnecessarily harmed. I brought the car to a dealership on December 17, 2014 because of a separate recall notice I was sent. The dealership replaced the stop lamp switch and added corrosive protection to the under carriage of my car. When I asked the service manager if he could run a diagnostic on my car while it was being repaired, he informed me that because the car was not under warranty, I would have to pay $130 dollars. The bts wire in the front passenger seat has already been repaired, at 24,144 miles, so I believe that there could be a connection between the fact that there was a faulty wire in the front passenger seat and the issues I am now having with the front driver's seat.

The failure mileage was 76,485. Pam.

Driver seat back is moving forward on its own while I am driving. It is happening very frequently and is very dangerous.

18 Seats problem of the 2007 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 09/22/2014

Front power driver's seat moves by itself randomly while driving. The seat leaned forward about 45 degrees itself while driving without touching the seat switch or any bumps on the road. The sudden movement of the seat, without any kind of warning, caused collapsing driver's upper body to the steering wheel and pushing driver's head downward. It is very dangerous to drive the car in that position. Driving speed was not related to the problem. I took the vehicle to the dealer service center in el paso, texas. At first, the service advisor did not believe my complaint, but the seat moved itself in front of him, even while the car was stopped and no one was seating on it. The service advisor rulled out if that was seat switch problem and recommended to replace the seat track which would cost more than $2,000.

22 Seats problem of the 2007 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 10/25/2013

The drivers side seat began adjusting itself while I was driving and moved all the way back so that I could not reach the brake or gas pedals. It also moved forward, pinning me to the steering wheel. It happened again to my teenager while she was learning to drive. Very scary for a new driver and very unsafe to say the least. I have yet to make an appt. At the dealership since it is out of warranty and I can only imagine what it will cost. I have seen other owners with the same issue and I hope you take into consideration that this is a huge safety concern and should be part of a safety recall.

24 Seats problem of the 2013 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 08/27/2013

Bought my Hyundai in for problems with my car and was told all my complaints were the way the car was built and nothing could be done about it. . . First my trunk doesn't open all the way answer because there is no motor built into the trunk for it to open on that model car. Second when rear window is open it sounds like the car is going to fall apart very loudly and noisily but that is normal for the way it is built. . Suggested by serviceman either open front window so the noise should lesson, but did not, then keep rear windows closed at all times. Using to much gas they tested it and state it clocks in at 33 mpg. Yet everywhere online it stated it gets 29 mpg at the most, so how is it getting 33? 33 mpg my car doesn't even get 29 mpg are you kidding me 33 mpg is way the salesman told me it was but never was. . . Unless you are loaded with money don't buy this gas guzzler!!!! or this load vehicle unless u keep the windows closed!!.

30 Seats problem of the 2008 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 04/01/2013

This accident happened in waco, texas, mclennan county. Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling west on fm 308 on the inside lane. Azera was traveling north on fm 933 on the outside lane. The driver of the Chevrolet pickup truck was not wearing his corrective lenses according to his dl restriction (restriction a) and disregarded a stop sign and flashing red light at the intersection. Due to this, the Chevrolet pickup truck struck the Azera fd to rbq. This collision spun the Azera clockwise. The Azera left the roadway to the east and went into a ditch and received fd damage. The Azera came to rest facing south in the ditch. The Chevrolet pickup truck came to rest facing north on fm 933 on the inside lane. All air bags deployed in the Azera except the drivers seat and drivers side curtain. Driver received blunt force damage to his left shoulder. Surgery was preformed on March 12, 2014. Azera was towed to "big boys wrecker service, 415 s. Robinson dr. , waco, texas 76706".

31 Seats problem of the 2007 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 01/01/2013

Driving on freeway, driver seat leaned forward as far as possible. If the seat had been positioned forward further, driver would have been pushed against the steering wheel! happened rarely at first, then began to do it constantly. When seatback is pushing forward the buttons are useless. By constantly holding the button to tilt the seat backwards, eventually it would go back. Eventually I disconnected the fuse for the electric seat so the car was usable (but you could not adjust the seat). This problem appears to have happened on a decent number of these cars. Searching on the internet found multiple people with the same problem. Cost to fix is outrageous (basically new seat/system).

32 Seats problem of the 2007 Hyundai Azera

Failure Date: 12/12/2012

All kinds of electrical problems least of which is the cigarette lighter quit working. The powered passenger seat can not be moved any direction. Air bag light came on after hitting a fairly small pothole. Air bag light goes on for a few days/weeks then goes off. Passenger seatbelt indicator light comes on sometimes while passenger is wearing seatbelt sometimes the same light randomly comes on then goes off with no passenger and no weight in the seat. I have personally paid for a new battery and two starters which more than likely didn't need replaced because my car still won't start at random times. I first experienced it not starting around 79,000 miles I could tell it wasn't the battery cause I tried jump starting it and all the while the door chime lights and radio all worked fine. So I replaced the starter only to have it not start the very next day. Anyway a wire was replaced to the starter and all was fine for about 10,000 miles and the same non starting issues occured again amd again. Seems like I just keep trying to start it and maybe the 8th or 25th time it starts. . Running out of words and they would only let me pick 3 parts to write about also have issues with brakes cracks around passenger air bag on dash etc.
