1 Lose Power Steering problem

Failure Date: 01/16/2017

The contact owns a 2008 Hyundai Elantra. While driving 30 mph and making a right turn down a hill, the electronic power steering warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle lost power steering ability and became hard to steer. The vehicle was turned off and, upon restarting, the steering returned to normal. The dealer stated that the VIN was excluded from NHTSA campaign number: 15v100000 (steering). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 79,000.

2 Lose Power Steering problem

Failure Date: 02/09/2016

Car loses power when driving car at low speed, car just shuts down and would need to place in park and restart the car, also lost power steering while driving car on the freeway, card wheel locked and car lost all power, was able to place it in park and restarted it, but was with out power steering, car shakes when driving passed 70 miles an hr.
