Tire Blowout problems of the 2013 Hyundai Elantra

1 Tire Blowout problem

Failure Date: 03/26/2014

Sidewall failure 2 front tires!! nexen cp 671 - dot = 8eok macl 3812 - size = p215/45r17 87h m+s - tires came on 2013 Elantra from dealership. Dealership has performed all maintance since purchase. On 3-26-2015 dealership service dept noticed a large crack in the sidewalls which went all the way around on both sides of the tires. Tread wear is minimal. Simply a sidewall failure. Fortunatly it was discovered prior to a front tire blowout.

2 Tire Blowout problem

Failure Date: 12/06/2012

Driving on the PA. Turnpike at 65 mph, hit a small pot hole and the back left tire blew. I needed to be towed because the car air pump did not work. This was the second flat in one month. The first was due to hitting a curb at 2mph which punctured the side wall of the tire which had to be replaced.

3 Tire Blowout problem

Failure Date: 06/14/2012

A blow out of a tire occurred while driving a 2013 Hyundai Elantra limited with 543 total miles on the car. The speed of the car at the time was 25 mph on a smooth road surface in a residential area. In talking to other owners, and searching the internet, we find that premature tire failure occurs frequently on the Elantra. Fortunately, this incident happened at a very slow speed otherwise there may well have been a fatality involved.
