The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated while driving at normal speed, the vehicle hesitated and stalled. The contact stated that he was able to navigate the vehicle off the road. The contact stated that the shifter locked mr. Transmission where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that his VIN was not part of a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000.
The low-pressure oil light flickers at idle and then stalls the engine. This often happens at intersections while waiting for traffic to clear and then the car shuts off. The oil pressure has been tested and is at proper pressure. Additionally, the oil sending switch has been replaced. At this time the VIN shows the engine is not eligible for manufacturer recall. It is my understanding that the engine shut off is by design as to preserve the engine from seizure. However, the root of the issue needs to be addressed as it is a major safety concern if the engine stops during idle in a busy intersection.
The car engine started just cutting off while driving. There is no warning except for the engine, oil and battery light comes on. The dash lights and radio remain on with no engine. I have to brake and put the car in park to start the engine back up. It may do this several times before I get to my destination. I've had it looked at and diagnosed at 3 places and none can find what is wrong. The 3 lights only come on when engine stops. The car has about 53,000 miles.
Car stutteres than stalls especially near time of oil change , oil light flashes when going moderate to low speeds and than it stutters and the engine cuts and the engine light , oil light and battery light come on if engine not started right away the power brakes and steering also die making it a dangerous situation especially on a highway happened many times between 2020-2022 but it has been getting worse happening 4 times just today 4/21/2022 engine type nu 1. 8l car make and model:2015 Hyundai Elantra limited.
Engine stalled while going at-speed on major highway; high risk of crash if not restarted in time. Continuous repeating stalls. Hyundai inspected car twice; failed to fix the problem on the first attempt, refused to replace engine alleging that maintenance was negligent due to residue inside motor. Hyundai did not report any residue on the first inspection, and likely did not inspect engine thoroughly when stalling was initially reported to their mechanics. Odd noises from engine present for months prior to stalling.
Car shuts down while driving. Usually as I slow down to turn, stop or change lanes. Very scarey.
When stopped at a red light or in traffic, (on many occasions), my car will suddenly surge and accelerate. It's leads no many near rear end collisions. Sometimes it leads up to my engine stalling. Also have shuddering (like it wants to die) when driving on freeway. The re has been to many incidents to keep track of.
Hyndai performed a service campaign to enhance their vehicle software to better detect abnormal engine noise. Since the campaign, this vehicle has had 3 instances in 8 weeks where the p1326 knock signal error code was detected. Per Hyundai's service campaign bulletin, this code indicates engine bearing failure. When the code is detected, the check engine light flashes and the engine is limited at 2000 rpm. This has occured while driving at highway speed in heavy traffic, and there is a significant safety risk due to the vehicle's sudden and unexpected deceleration which creates a high chance of being hit from behind. Hyundai has repeatedly treated this error code as sensor and electrical problem replacing electical components, clearing the code, and allowing the vehicle to be returned to service as if normal. However, per their service campaign, the failure is due to faulty engine bearings. This action of not correcting the mechanical problem has created multiple chances of potential collision and injury.
Complete engine failure at 129k miles, 3k miles after purchasing used off Hyundai car dealerships.
2015 Elantra-engine knock/ticking on startup. Currently with every start. Vehicle has 53000 miles. Quiets down slightly when normal operating temp is reached. More pronounced upon acceleration and less when coasting.
~tl- the contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated while driving at 30 mph their vehicle they notice a large smoke cloud coming out of their exhuast pipe in the rear of the vehilce when they depressed on the acclerator pedal. The contact stated this failure multiple times until the contact took the vehilce to a local dealer sansone Hyundai (90-100 us-1, avenel, NJ 07001 phone: (888) 566-5311) who inspected the vehilce and diagnosed the vehilce as an issue with oil was deposted in which caused a blockage in the valve. They repaired the vehilce however the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 55,000. Vw.
We just bought the car two months ago from a used car dealership. My son was driving when all of a sudden all of the dash lights flashed on the car and the car stopped in the middle of the road. We had it towed to a car dealership nearby and they looked at the engine and said that the engine locked. Also, when you open up the hood of the car there's also oil on the inside of the hood of the car.
Car used to run well , but last week started to make a very lousy noise from the engine , I dont feel safe to use it anymore ,also the car dont have the same push to make it run I have to push the pedal almost completely but still it dont . It dont work as it used to be.
Seeking to accelerate as I merged onto a highway, vehicle rpm exceeded 6,000 without acceleration. Depressed accelerator, tried again and the engine backfired. Result: blown head gasket on vehicle with only 62,000 km. I changed the oil every 8,500 km and Hyundai is debating the warranty.
Engine began knocking at very low mileage. Knock was apparent while stationary, driving, accelerating. Engine replaced under warranty, no questions asked. If engine had failed during operation it would have created a dangerous driving situation.
Vehicle was making a "ticking" sound. Gets louder as you accelerate. Took vehicle to mechanic - advised pistons/engine are causing sound to contact Hyundai dealer as there has been many issues with the cars engines. Can drive the car at this time, waiting on dealer to respond and hope engine doesn't blow up on me. Car only has 55,000 miles.
2015 Hyundai Elantra with 43,000 miles on it. The car vibrates and shakes while in the drive or reverse when stopped with the driver's foot on the brake. The vibration and shaking vary in intensity. I brought the car to the dealer and they said the throttle body needed to be cleaned due to rough idle. I had the service performed and it has not solved the problem. This is an issue that hyundia needs to address.
I purchased this vehicle with approximately 35000 miles on it, and since that time, on multiple occasions, while trying to accelerate, there is a brief lack of response from the vehicle. When attempting to get up to speed when merging onto the highway, or even when taking off from a stop light, the vehicle will begin rolling, and when I push on the gas pedal there is a 2-3 second hesitation from the accelerator. This only happens once in a while. Due to it not happening every time, it is hard to duplicate at the mechanic shop for testing.
The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Elantra. While the vehicle was being serviced, the contact was informed that there were metal shavings in the engine oil. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer (stew hansen Hyundai, 11344 hickman rd, clive, IA 50325, (515) 253-3000) was contacted and an appointment was scheduled to replace the engine short block. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 105,000.
Car cut off. Was no longer drivable. Had to get it towed to the dealership only to be told that I need a new engine. My car is a 2015 and only has 74,000 miles on it.
High oil pressure caused oil filter to fail.
My Elantra 2015 ( 70 k) shut off while driving.
