Light on the dash showing "airbags" is lighting up for the first time since I've owned this vehicle. I remember there being a recall regarding a switch or something pertaining to the airbags sometime in the past, but not sure if this was the concern (airbag light on dash lighting up).

I've been bringing my car to a repair shop over and over for the past month. Myself and the repair shop had to put a quart of oil once a week in the vehicle. I have spent on numerous things to get down to the problem. The engine is leaking oil. I downloadwd proof leading to the problem I need to get fixed. The problem is still there.

I just purchased a 2015 Hyundai Genesis 3. 8 4 door sedan 1/10/2025. Randomly lately the car does a slight jerk and the screen goes black, that happened about 5 times in just a few weeks. Twice the car shutoff and back on at slow speed coming to a stop, and then entering into a parking lot. Same day at 65-70 mph on the freeway it jerked hard and the engine turned off and on. Very scary and dangerous!! I did not see anything on recalls that would pertain to this happening. All recalls have been done on this car, that's what it indicated. Service guy wasn't sure. This is a random thing. I could leave my car with them but they'd have to drive it a lot for long periods before it might actually happen again.
Unknown. All I know is my son purchased a Genesis coupe used and within less then 48 hours. I watched the vehicle catch fire on the freeway and smoke uncontrollably. As I drove behind him. He was unaware of the first or smoke coming from the car. Finally I got his attention to pull over and now the car won't work. The seller refuses to give him a refund or mechanical assistance for his purchase. It was a sight I wouldn't wish upon no one. To watch your only child drive a car that is on fire and smoking. I wish he saw what I seen. It's unsafe for someone to sale car and someone and allow them to drive away knowing that there safety not at risk. It should be a crime. Illegal misrepresentation of a vehicle safety conditions. It should not matter if it was a dealership or private sales. It's auto fraud and should be punishable by law.

Oil pressure sensor failed (known issue with this engine) and causes the oil light to go off and on while idling and in motion. Part has a manufacturer recall already in korea but not in the us for the same issue.
I brought the car in the dealership for the recall (251). The dealership was not able to fix the recall, which affected other parts of the car. The dealership could not fix the other parts. The vehicle was inspected by the manufacturer. The dealership did not allow to pick up the car from their parking lot. The manufacturer refuses to pay for the car or other expensives caused by this recall.
With no aparent reason (no impact event) the glass panel between the windshield and sunroof has shattered.
Factory recall 24v-107: on [xxx] took car to haselwood Hyundai of bremerton wa. For manf. Recall Genesis starter solenoid water contamination. Recall was completed in 2 hours when driving home car went into emergency mode and shut down on freeway with completely dead battery. Was told by dealership they would not pay 1200 tow bill. Applied for aaa membership and was approved. Car was towed back to dealership on August 28th with approx. 100 miles driven since Aug 9th. Dealership had no idea that costs would be reimbursed by Hyundai. Had they known this the car would have been towed ASAP after breakdown. Note: this vehicle had no issues prior to this factory recall being installed. On August 29 service adviser brandon said alternator and battery needed replacement. This made no sense because car had no electrical problems prior to factory install. Authorized dealer to replace this equipment if necessary since I would be reimbursed. Sept 2nd paid dealer $1,567. 00 for repairs. After leaving dealer car ran for 62 miles went into emergency mode with completely dead battery. Sept 3rd car again towed into dealership. My car has run for a total of 4 hours since Aug 9th factory recall repair. I've been without transportation going on 4 weeks because of this incident. Hence, I write to text to you asking for assistance in getting this incident over with. I thank you in advance for your time and interest in this request. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
It has been over five months since I was notified about this recall and nothing has been done sense then. I am extremely unhappy with Genesis.
Lights went completely off when I turned my brights off . My traction control and my parking sensors are faulty and car smells like it's going to catch fire gets super super hot.
My 2016 Hyundai Genesis has several open recalls. I cannot get a dealership to help me get these issues resolved. One recall in particular Hyundai recall number 254 is causing major safety issues. My car does not start 90% of the time without being jumped and now the car will die out while driving. It has caused me to almost wreck several times. I have called all of the local Hyundai dealerships none of which say they can get me in for weeks and that there is no fix for my problem. If I do get to someone to book an appointment, when they hear the problem they put me on permahold and then the line disconnects! this is a major safety issue and needs to be fixed by Hyundai immediately.

The trunk of the car stopped opening with the “open trunk button” from inside the car and also does not work with the key fob option. The trunk now needs to be opened by key from key fob everytime. Water is leaking through the trunk of the car and cause to have mold in the car. An electrical problem with the audio of the car stopped working. The radio or bluetooth no longer works due to the audio no longer working. The driver side front window does not work due to an electrical problem.
This recall is still not fixed. Hyundai is acting irresponsibly in not providing a remedy. It has been at least 5-6 months with no fix available.

Sep 22, 2023 manufacturer recall number251 NHTSA recall number23v651000 recall status: recall incomplete, remedy not yet available June, 2024 it has been 10 months since an alert from Hyundai to park this vehicle outside due to chance of fire. I need this car repaired or repurchased by Hyundai. 10 moinths is far too long for a repair.
The rear passenger window will no longer rise. This leaves my car an easy target for theft and water damage.
Vehicle shuts off at red lights or when making very low speed turns. Indicator on dash shows 'key' symbol and sometimes battery symbol. I then have to shift to park or neutral to push button restart vehicle. Other times I'm parked with vehicle idling and it simply shuts off. This issue puts me at risk because it shuts off while driving on public roads with other vehicles. The repair shop can't find out why this is happening and the vehicle flashes no check engine light and there are no stored codes. This began a couple months after I had a new battery installed in the vehicle and put a new battery in the key fob. Vehicle now, no longer recognizes key fob. I have to manually insert key fob into a key fob slot inside vehicle in order to crank it. This seems to be an issue with the 2012 model Genesis, as I have read on several online forums of other owners experiencing the same problem.
The window regulators are built with a hard plastic that essentially melts in florida heat and then your windows just drop. Each window in my car has dropped and will not go back up without paying Hyundai a lot of money to repair the window. For instance, in December 2022 I paid Hyundai $660 to repair the right rear window and in August 2022 I paid Hyundai $651 to repair the left rear window regulator (second repair). Now the front driver side window has to be repaired for the second or third time. The parts were ordered and just the parts will cost $900 and I still will have to pay the labor expenses for inferior made materials. The driver side window was replaced and a new regulator was installed by napleton Hyundai in west palm beach. I do not have the paperwork for the repairs made by napleton. Then coastal Hyundai in melbourne, florida worked on the rest of the windows including putting in a new regulator in the driver side and will install a new motor. These windows are neither reliable nor safe and should not have been constructed with plastic. They just fall and will not go back up. The window parts should have been recalled and replaced. I attached a copy of the invoices that I have paid already and could locate. Also, I want to report that when I contacted Hyundai to issue a complaint about the right rear window in December 2022 it took 30 days for the customer service representative to respond to me. He apparently, would document that he planned to call me in the computer and never followed through. I called and asked to talk to his supervisor and was told that I would have to talk with him. Not having a supervisor to talk with was also a problem because he knew that I could only talk to him so he took his time. I don't know if anything will be done but I wanted to document my concerns.

Please refer to the articles below, this issue happens after 60k miles & never found a car it was fixed before 60k. Owners are spending over $800 to $1000 to get fixed. In korea, it was recalled back in 2021. Our Genesis are all made in korea. When I contact the Hyundai USA. They won't honor the same service with u. S. Please look into it. Thank you for your time. Unknown I drove it to work then it started spilling oil and wouldn't start so got it towed over to a shop and got it diagnosed and they said it was the motor and they didn't work on motors so I found a shop that did work on motors and they put a new used engine in and then the shop told me that all it needed was flashed and it will work again so I went to Hyundai to get that done and they told me they couldn't get it done because of 6 codes the shop needed to get off and fixed so I waited some more for them to fix it they still didn't so I was not going to pay them anymore so here it sits in my parking lot broken down still.
After having repeat brake issues and bringing the brake issues to the attention of the authorized dealer: steele Hyundai south loop in houston, TX. There was no resolution. I visited with the management of steele Hyundai on March 10, 2023. I was in a car accident on March 16, 2023 where brake failure occurred. I took the vehicle to firestone on March 25, 2023 for a full inspection. Firestone determined the brakes were not repaired properly.
The left rear passenger door does not open from inside or outside. I have looked online and see that this or similar problems affect many Genesis sedans as well as other Hyundai vehicles. We needed to seat two young children in the back seat and realized how dangerous it is if something happens and the car door can't be opened from inside or outside. How would rescue teams extract the passenger? how could the passenger extract him/herself? many people reported paying a lot of money to the dealership to repair this problem. I believe this is a safety hazard that the company should be responsible for. This problem began recently, with no warning. The key fob does not open the door either.
Got oil changed at Genesis dealership at 79k miles. Within a day, low oil pressure light began to turn on and off sporadically. Usually showing up when idling and turning off while accelerating. Took car back to dealership and they identified a faulty oil switch (which appears to require a significant amount of labor to access/replace). This has already been recalled in korea as it has been happening to many vehicles around the 60-70k mile mark and it is a major safety issue (people driving with a faulty sensor may get complacent on urgency if the warning light). I sincerely hope Hyundai/genesis USA issues a recall for the faulty oil pressure switch issue and this most definitely should be covered under the 100k miles powertrain warranty.
The oil pressure sensor is faulty. The light comes on when it's cold temperatures outside. Upon revving the engine above 1500rpms or so, the oil pressure sensor light goes off.
Coolant leaking from back of the engine block on 2009 Hyundai Genesis 3. 8 sedan with 67000 miles. .
I was driving on the interstate and the sunroof suddenly shattered and glass fell into the car. With the falling glass it was startling and without a calm response could have resulted in a multiple car crash and potential fatalities. Also, the falling glass could've caused physical injury. I was told by the local dealership to wait for 50 days before they would be available to inspect it. There were no symptoms of the problem prior to it happening.
Complete engine failure due to connecting rod bearing failing on my car on thanksgiving day. Conveniently Hyundai has a open recall on their sonata, santa fe and santa fe sport, and the veloster for this exact issue but not on the Genesis coupe? what kind of bull shit is that? and of course I'm 16 thousand miles past the factory drivetrain warranty. What a joke, looks like I'm never buying a Hyundai again.

Brake system failure. Brake pedal and goes all the way to the floor. Hyundai dealership explained that the hecu has failed. In 2014 there was a recall on this car for this issue, Hyundai recall 114. This recall was for "genesis sedan hecu inspection and brake fluid replacement". The known issue is that the part breaks down over time and just changing the brake fluid doesn’t stop the corrosion process. The hecu part should have been replaced and not allowed to degrade further as it has now done on my vehicle.
The electronic parking brake system engaged and remained engaged such that the car could not be driven. It could not be reset through any available means and no manual method exists. This occurred while the vehicle was stopped thus not a substantial safety risk for the particular episode, however this was a complete failure of a portion of the braking system which made it impossible to move the vehicle. It was towed on a flatbed truck and required skates under the rear tires to be placed on the truck. The Hyundai dealer confirmed that the entire system must be replaced and the vehicle remains disabled at the dealer as the parts are not available. There were no warning indicators, until the event occurred when the epb and autohold indicators lit, and the vehicle diagnostic system alerted a problem with the electronic parking brake system.
I am sending this email in regards to my dashboard cracking around the airbag. It looks like someone has taken a box cuter and sliced my dashboard. Everyday, I notice more and more cracks. Now I am at three cracks (one was small and now it has spread) I am from southern California and my car is parked outside with windows cracked half way with a window shade for my front window. I am concerned about this as I do have passengers in my car and not sure if the airbags will deploy or not. Looks like this is a problem as looking at the Hyundai dashboard, there are many concerns. Hopefully I will hear back from you soon to see what can be done about this problem. I would hate for the airbag to deploy and someone can get hurt or killed. I am providing you with photos. .
Brake unit failure. Car brake pedal became soft, needs to be pressed to the floor to get the car to stop. . . And even then it does not stop fast enough to be safe. Online research shows that this is a known issue for this model and Hyundai has been covering the cost for this as it is attributed to a part installed at the factory.
While I am driving at around 20 mph, all of sudden engine shuts off, steering wheel is frozen, brake doesn't work, all light remained on dash board. I put it in park and start it. It comes back without any issues. No code are registered so dealer can not see the problem. Also happened in parking a lot about 5 weeks back. This is big safety issue where I might run into somebody without steering wheel and brake control.
The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Genesis. The contact stated while operating the vehicle and lightly depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle would abruptly stop. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 38,000.
Lights and warring sounds go off when stationary.
