While driving the other night, my headlights turned off on their own. The headlight setting was set to auto and they flickered twice before shutting all the way off. At this time I was on a dark road without streetlights. The only way to remedy immediately was to turn the headlight setting to on rather than auto. This also happened this morning as it was raining but I figured that was due to gloomy weather.

While driving at night with lights in automatic mode, the headlights will turn off for a few seconds and the dash will indicate the lights mode has changed, before the lights will turn back on. This has occurred multiple times typically at night along rural highways but has occurred along lit streets as well. It has happened while simply driving along a straight stretch of road as well as when turning or switching from brights to dims. This safety hazard has fortunately not yet resulted in losing control of the vehicle due to lack of awareness regarding position on the road and could result in a serious accident. Date listed is the most recent time the incident occurred.

Headlights turn off an on when in auto mode, while driving.
Automatic headlights randomly shut off and back on when driving without operation of the headlight switch.
The driver side front turn signal intermittently inoperable. When under warrantee, had dealership repair 5-6 times without success. They changed bulbs and both electrical harnesses. Problem still exists. Took the car into a different dealer and they stated that the left and right sockets burned internal to headlight assembly. This has occurred from early on and continues today. On two occasions at night the entire headlights shut off and I can only assume it is related to the burned internal sockets as well.
Headlights flash off or stay off when using the turn signals. At night when changing lanes or turning corners the headlights sometimes go off for a moment when engaging the left or right turn signal lever. Also the headlights sometimes turn off and stay off when completing a turn when the turn signal automatically turns off. One needs to jog the turn signal lever to get the headlights back on. This can be recreated when parked simply by operating the turn signals. This is an intermittent problem whether moving or parked. This problem seems to be independent of weather, speed or road conditions. I have seen many complaints and examples of this condition on you tube.

Headlights turn off when turn signal is used at night. When making right turn last week at night used right turn signal approximately 100 ft prior to turning. Front lights went out and car turning in front of me almost hit me because they couldn't see me because my lights were off. Other Hyundai Genesis owners report the same problem. Dealer unable to diagnose problem. Headlights flicker when turn signal is used.

While driving at night on the highway with the lights on automatic setting, taking a exit and put my left blinker on the head lights shut off for a period of two seconds. At times the cruise control does not work, the front and rear sensors come on when is nothing in front or rear of the vehicle. The car as been at the dealer various times and at times they said I have a bad sensor and by the time they lok at the vehicle they said that is nothing wrong. The symptons go away after driving for a couple days, bit I feel that I will get into a acident if the lights dont come back on.
Noticed that the head lights shut off for a couple of seconds when making a turn onto a ramp on an interstate. Seemed to happen when the turn signal was operated and has repeated a dozen or so times since the first occurrence, but can go weeks to months between incidents. I think that the head light selections switch was set to "on" at the time as I have not noticed this to occur when set to "auto. ".

Hyundai Genesis sedan w/tech package. While driving down a poorly lit road at approximately 50 mph, I activated my right turn blinker to turn right at an upcoming intersection. As soon as I selected the turn signal, both headlights went out for a period of 1 - 2 seconds, then came back on. Since the road was dark, I was literally driving blind and could have ended in a very serious accident. There has apparently been a few Genesis sedans reporting this same issue, but this was the first time this has happened to me. When I got home, I noticed that my headlight switch was in the on position. There is also the auto position. When in on, I could duplicate the issue randomly by selecting the turn signals, thought it wasn't consistent. When in auto, I could not duplicate the problem.
The headlights completely turn off for around a second when turn signal is engaged or disengaged. Problem happens sporadically and has only been observed when the headlights are in the on, not auto mode. This sudden and brief, unexpected lack of visibility at night is dangerous.
