Veering right since new 7/2012 on freeway and city streets. Undercarriage right side "tweaked" per Hyundai service rep in 2016. In shop since April 22 and out may 14, /2017 right control arm broken and coil spring bad (fixed per service rep), alignment still in red right front camber; steering wheel severely off center at times and now veers more to left and sometimes to right on city streets and highway; when coming to stop steering wheel becomes severely off center. In April 2017 was losing speed even though pressing on gas pedal and acting if wanting to stall several times with in a week (happening a few other times in past but thought due to being cold or bad gas. . When this happened psi light turned on. Happening on freeway and while merging onto freeway and other times on city streets. When this happened in April 2017 the last time with the wanting to stall problem steering wheel became really off center (dealer notified and taken to shop on 4/25/2017). Also would not go into reverse the same day of losing power wanting to stall. (happening a few other times in the past). Now ac air force low and doesn't cool as prior to being in shop 4/2017 and blows hot air at times. Airbag sensors not working properly as before shop visit 4/2017. Have had paint chipping problems on body of driver door and passenger door and around truck area. Has also had fuel pump issues, repeaired once (when pumping gas pump constantly clicking off). Poor suspension rear end feels like it bottoms out when going over bad road/bumps on freeway and city streets.

The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Genesis. While driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to restart and was taken to courtesy Hyundai (939 newport Ave, pawtucket, ri 02861) for diagnostic testing, but the contact was unaware of the results. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred one year later. The vehicle was taken back to courtesy Hyundai. The cause of the failure could not be determined, but they replaced the fuel pump. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 15,000.

This car has been a headache since it went out of warranty (ironically). First it was the car wouldn't start due to an electrical problem between the alarm system and key fob. The starter was the next to go. Most recently the fuel pump went literally while I was driving the car. Fortunate I was able to make my way off the road and avoided collusion and possible physical injury. There were no warnings that there were any issues with the car, no dashboard warnings, no usual performance. The car was fine one second and completely dead the next. After incurring $300 in towing charges, first to my local mechanic who was unable to diagnose the problem because his computer couldn't read the Hyundai codes, then to the Hyundai dealership. Hyundai claims it is the fuel pump. I'll remain skeptical until they confirm the car is fully functional. I find it impossible to comprehend how a 6 year old vehicle that is impeccably maintained should have the degree of problems I have experienced over the past couple of years. Needless to say, I will not be keeping the car for long and will not be continuing my relationship with Hyundai. Unfortunate since I have been a Hyundai owner since 2001.

Sudden loss of power at freeway speed. Driving at freeway speed late at night with adaptive cruise control on, I accelerated and changed lanes to the left to avoid a collision with an inattentive driver. Immediately after changing lanes to the right to return to my lane, the car stopped responding to throttle input. Rpm gradually decreased to zero and the car stalled. No warning lights until the engine stopped at the right shoulder of the freeway. I restarted the engine. Still no warning lights. The car entered a limp-home mode with max rpm around 1500, very slow acceleration, max speed about 50 mph. It did not stall again during the 10 mile trip home. Towed to dealer. Dealer states that the obd2 fault code was p1230, low fuel pressure. The technician test drove the car and reproduced the behavior. Initial diagnosis was "failure of high-pressure fuel pump. " today (5 days after incident) the dealer states that Hyundai tech support recommends additional diagnostics prior to replacing the fuel pump.
Hyundai is having a real issue with their fuel pumps. My car is currently in the shop for its 3rd fuel pump at 120k miles. The safety issue is how the pump goes out with no indication of an issue from the car at all. This time I was parked at a gas station, however the 2nd incident is more concerning. Then, I was traveling on the highway at approx. 70-75 mph. Without warning, the engine stopped and of course so all of the other controls from the engine. Because I had a full loss of power, I was lucky that there were no cars in the inside lane and I could move over in time to get to the side shoulder. I literally coasted to the shoulder at 20 mph. If I hadn't been able to get to the shoulder, I would have been stuck in the middle of a 4 lane highway with no way to move the car.
I was driving on a major interstate, when the engine sputtered then shut off at highway speed. No warning from the instrumentation panel until after the engine failed. After stopping in the breakdown lane, I was unable to restart the vehicle. The service department at the dealership believes the incident was caused by a defective gas tank and is recommending replacement of both the tank and fuel pump.
