Snowing & my drivers side front wiper stopped working. Palssenger side ok. Had to pull over every couple blocks to manually wipe window clear to see to get home. It has been over a week and still does not work.
The driver side wiper stopped working after heavy snow. The right side under carriage screw came out so it was hanging but eventually got torn off.
I was driving along the feeder road entering the on-ramp of the highway, going about 45 mph, when I heard a loud explosion coming from inside my vehicle. I was obviously startled and my first thought was maybe my kids left a soda bottle in the car and the pressure caused the bottle to explode. It was then I noticed broken glass all over the interior of my vehicle, as well as on my person. It was a clear, sunny day, about 75 degrees, so no extreme weather. There were no vehicles ahead of me, behind me or on either side of me. When I got to a stopping point, I searched my vehicle thoroughly thinking something must have come through the glass and shattered it. But I found nothing in my vehicle that would have come from outside and caused this to happen. While taking photos of everything, I noticed the glass that was left appeared to be bowed upwards instead of inward. It was then I realized whatever happened did not come from outside of my vehicle. I started looking things up online and realized the "exploding sunroof" was actually a very common issue happening to many other people's vehicles. Why a recall on this serious safety issue has not been issued is baffling. I could have been in an accident due to the startling nature of the incident, I could have been cut with shards of glass. Thank god my children were not in the car with me at the time as most of the glass went to the back seats where they would have been sitting. Prior to this happening there were no issues with my sunroof and no obvious warning signs of its impending explosion. I truly hope a recall is issued soon before someone is seriously injured, or worse.
I was driving on [xxx] in florida when it started raining heavily, I turned on my wipers when all of a sudden my drivers side wiper stopped working. My passenger side worked fine. My driver side wiper was recalled and "fixed" Nov 9,2023. Not even a year later it is not working again. This is something that is completely dangerous, not being able to us my wipers while driving when needed is horrible. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I had the driver-side wiper replaced in November 2023 due to a recall and have had an issue 3x since then. Twice, snow had accumulated under the wiper arm while driving and caused the wiper motor to stop. That is the exact reason for the recall but it continues to happen regardless. Then the other night while driving 70 on a freeway in heavy rain with wipers on full speed, the driver wiper started hitting the left edge of the windshield a few swipes, slowed down for a few swipes, then stopped completely in the lower position. Had to get off at the next exit as all attempts wouldn't get them working again. Two days later I was able to get into the dealership for a quick "tightening of the bolt" to get the wipers functioning again. The dealership said they knew exactly what the problem was due to so many people having this issue with needing the bolt tightened because it must have worked its way loose. The motor must be too weak and the replacement wiper arm has not remedied the occurrence, leading to some very hazardous situations.
The dealership is refusing to fix NHTSA recall number23v180000 on our vehicle and offered a solution to me in 2026.
Windshield wiper turns on when it is not raining even though it is on off and mist sensor is on off.
To date, the windshield has cracked and required replacement three times. This has happened in August 2023, sept 2024 & may 2025. The first instance was caused by a small chip resulting from a visible impact. However, the subsequent two replacements occurred without any known cause or visible damage, suggesting a potential defect in the windshield's design or material integrity. This ongoing problem is not only inconvenient and costly, but also raises serious safety concerns. Windshields should not crack spontaneously under normal driving conditions. Is it the quality of the windshield or is this issue part of a larger defect affecting this vehicle model?.
Sunroof randomly shattered driving down the highway. I had the interior sunshade cover open, and glass went all in the inside of the SUV. Thankfully, nobody was harm but it was super scary. It sounded like a gunshot when it happened. I see that Hyundai doesn't cover this expense, and I had to go through my insurance company to make a claim. This should definitely be looked at. This is happening to a lot of other people. You would think this situation would be a recall matter, but apparently it's not.
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 22v633000 (trailer hitches) and 23v180000 (visibility/wiper) however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
This is in reference to Hyundai recall number: 243, NHTSA recall number: 23v-180 took my Hyundai to dealership on 3 different occasions for the intermittent wiper not working properly. It activates indiscriminately on clear sunny days and doesn't react to rain hitting the windshield. Three different times I took to dealership for this same problem including the safety recall. The problem still exists. It is a safety hazard on rainy days in florida.
When I use the windshield washer, the cabin is filled with fumes from the washer fluid. I have been sickened by the fumes with headache and taste of the fumes. It enters the cabin of the vehicle via the ventilation system. The dealer has thoroughly checked the ventilation system and has found nothing wrong. This is a design issue with the vehicle. The washer/ ventilation issue was addressed with the 2023 model. I was told by Hyundai consumer affairs division there is nothing that can be done to resole my issue other than manually switching the ventilation by pressing the recirculation button before using the windshield washer. Hyundai consumer affairs case#: 21145978. Others in the vehicle can smell the odor, but most are less sensitive to the fumes.
I bought hd Palisade 2022 SUV on Jan 2022 at koeppel Hyundai dealer locating lic NY. Suddenly, radiator fluid is leaking from left and right corner as of Mar 18,2023 and couldn't run long distance because of this. I am a uber driver for over 7 years in nyc. This is first happened during my driving for 40 years. I called dealer and they gave mw 1 weeks waiting time for check up and no idea even they have part or not. If they don't have it, I have to wait 1month (from my friend who bought same car and same month and same dealer). Is other way to repair this matter ASAP ? as a driver, I make ends meet by weekly basis.
At just over a year old, I have experienced a cracked windshield. I believe this was caused by a small pebble hitting the windshield but I do not believe that should have caused a cracked windshield on such a relatively new car.
If the weather is snowy, or there has been snow built up on the windshield the windshield wipers fail to operate until you pull over and clear the windshield cowl of 100% of snow in that area. This happens while driving and while parked. Imagine driving down the road in a severe snowstorm and having your windshield wipers just stop working on a whim, and you have to pull over to the side of the road, where there may not even be a shoulder to pull off to, so that you can clear the wiper sensor. Then 5 miles later you have to do it again because heavy snow built up.
Driving on a highway on 1/13/2023 and suddenly the sunroof exploded! it sounded just like a gunshot when it happened. Nothing at all hit the vehicle or sunroof, just a spontaneous explosion with glass going everywhere. Luckily there were no injuries to the driver from falling glass and we did not go into oncoming traffic on a two lane highway. It was extremely startling! this car only has about 8,000 miles on it, we bought it new in November 2021. I contacted the dealer where it was purchased. Fortunately they saw fit to repair it free of charge to us, and provide us with a loaner car.
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated while driving during a snowstorm, the front windshield wipers became inoperable, creating a visibility hazard for the driver. The contact indicated that snow buildup inside the wiper motor had caused the failure. The failure was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer were not yet notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 10,900.
Yet again the wipers failed to operate with a small amount of snow buildup on the wiper arm. I see a recall for the 2020 and 2021 Hyundai Palisades but not for my 2022. I feel this is extremely dangerous and needs to be remedied ASAP. Having to pull over on a busy snowy highway to clear the snow buildup just to get the wipers to work is a catastrophe waiting to happen.
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 23v180000 (visibility) and 22v633000 (trailer hitches), however the part to complete the repair for 22v633000 (trailer hitches) is unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer has exceeded a reasonable amount of time to complete the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Windshield has chipped 4 times in last year.
A rock hit the windshield of my new 2022 Palisade while driving on the highway and caused a small chip on the driver's side about 1/4 of the way up from the bottom. I contacted the dealership right away because when I purchased my vehicle I was told they would repair chips at no charge. When I was making the appointment to get it repaired, the technician stated that the Palisade windshields are very fragile and sometimes when chips are being repaired the entire windshield will crack. However, if I did not get the chip repaired my windshield would crack anyway. I had the chip repaired and within 24 hours my windshield cracked down the middle from the top to 1/2 down the windshield - nowhere near the chip. Then within 2 days the crack turned and went all the way to the edge of the windshield on the passenger's side. A few days later a new crack formed in the middle of that crack and went down towards the bottom of the windshield and is coming back towards the driver's side! I have not been hit by that many rocks! I am reporting this here, with the dealership and with Hyundai in case there is some kind of recall on the 2022 Palisade windshields. It will need to be replaced soon because I am afraid it is going to crack all the way to the driver's side edge and fall in on me and my passengers.
Vehicle is only 2 weeks old and windshield cracked for no reason, the crack is progressing. I will be notifying dealer about the problem.
Powered mirrors fail and are not able to be adjusted. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. If another driver that is taller or shorter tries to drive and adjust their mirrors, they will be unable to do so, limiting rear side view visibility and creating a dangerous situation. Dealer reproduced issue, then supposedly tried to correct it by "resetting the mirrors program" and failed again a day later and does not work ever since. There were no warning lights.
My front windshield has a crack and is now spreading the entire length of the windshield, I never hit a rock and the car is garage kept.
Our new 2022 Hyundai Palisade calligraphy with 1200 miles windshield spontaneously cracked in the middle after warming it with the remote car starter in the morning. There was no rock chip or hit the night before when we drove it. It just split, possibly because of warming up a cool windshield.
Windshield cracked upon bieng hit by a small rock from the roadway.
Cracks occuring on windshield without direct impact. Requesting warranty repair but is not being honored by dealer.
Windshield cracks too easily. Glass is not strong, very thin, non protective. 2600 miles.
This is horrible and a disaster waiting to happen. Had the vehicle for one week. First snow storm was driving and the wipers stopped working. Most likely due to the poor design of the wiper system. Had to pull over on a highway in a snow storm and dig out the snow from the well where the wipers sit. This is unacceptable and something needs to be done about it. The entire wiper system needs a revamp ASAP.
I was driving on freeway and a small rock or something made a low sound impact with my car’s windshield resulting into a crack. There was traffic on freeway so car wasn’t driven above 40mph speed. The windshield appears to be super thin, and probe to these issues. This thing isn’t being covered by Hyundai and is first in my driving life of 9 years. This is first time with Hyundai, Lexus and mercedes didn’t have any low quality windshields.
2022 Palisade, less than 3000 miles and this happens. The dealer said “sorry, but it’s road hazard” I’ve owned other vehicles and have driven in interstates with plenty of trucks with things hitting my windshield (previous cars) and I have never in my life seen a windshield crack so easily. The most infuriating part is that the road was clear, there is no way a rock could have hit my car, I wasn’t driving through any underpass nothing to have caused it, where I could have been like fml debris from a truck. I love my Palisade but I was not surprised when I did some research and saw that they are having issues with the 2020 and 2021? windshields cracking easily and have a lawsuit for “fragile windshield” I have filed a complaint and opened a case with Hyundai! I talked to safelite and an autobody shop and was told that a windshield should not have cracked so easily. I’m so irritated, especially because it can’t be repaired, the whole windshield would need to be replaced.
A small foreign object hit the top center of the windshield immediately causing a crack about 10 inches. Within a few days the crack has expanded across the passengers side almost measuring about 2 feet. It seems the windshield is very fragile and not safe for vehicle operation.
Windshield wipers stopped working while driving in a snow storm. You then have to pull off the road with little to no forward visibility. At one point my wife had to roll down the window and stick her head out to see to pull off the road. The wipers seem to pack snow into the area they park and then quit. It is very difficult to get them working again no matter how much snow you dig out of the area the wipers park in. This has happened three times so far this winter.
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving in snowy and freezing weather the windshield wipers became inoperable due to an accumulation of snow and ice at the bottom of the windshield. The driver had to open the hood to remove the ice in order to allow the wipers to function. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. Additionally, while driving the odor of antifreeze was present inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who informed that tiny pin holes were present in the radiator and that the radiator needed to be replaced; however, the part was on back order due to high demand. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 10,000.
