Hyundai has opened an internal case, number 42429100 their only resolution is to leave the vehicle at a dealership and rent a car at my own expense. They have offered to give me a slight discount on a trade, but all comparable vehicles are under safety recalls as well. They have offered no effective solution and I have no manner to safely transport my family. The vehicle is subject to an active safety recall (NHTSA recall 26v034) for failure to meet federal ejection mitigation standards (fmvss 226) due to curtain airbag performance in the third row. According to the manufacturer, there is currently no available remedy for this condition. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized dealership, which confirmed that the recall is active and that no repair can be performed at this time. A separate seatbelt-related recall was completed during the inspection. There were no warning lights or messages prior to the recall notices. Because there is no available remedy and no timeline for repair, the vehicle cannot be restored to a condition that meets federal safety standards within a reasonable timeframe. This impacts the ability to safely transport occupants, particularly in scenarios involving side impact or rollover crashes where ejection mitigation is required. The manufacturer has not provided a functional resolution, such as a loaner vehicle or alternative transportation, and advised leaving the vehicle at the dealership without support. This leaves the owner without a safe and usable vehicle for normal family transportation.

I am submitting this formal complaint regarding an active safety recall affecting the seat belt system of my 2025 Hyundai Palisade xrt. Hyundai has acknowledged the existence of the defect. However, I was informed by a Hyundai customer service representative [xxx] ), under case number xxx, that there is currently no available remedy or repair for this recall. This situation is deeply concerning, as it involves a critical safety component intended to protect occupants in the event of a collision. Due to the nature of this defect, I do not feel safe operating the vehicle under any circumstances. Despite the acknowledged safety risk, Hyundai has not provided any adequate interim solution, such as a replacement vehicle or transportation assistance, leaving me effectively unable to safely use the vehicle. This places me in an unreasonable and unsafe position, as I am left with a vehicle that poses a potential risk to my safety without any available corrective action. I respectfully request that the national highway traffic safety administration investigate this matter and take appropriate action to ensure that Hyundai provides a timely and effective remedy, as well as appropriate support to affected consumers. I own a 2023 Hyundai Palisade limited that currently has confirmed active safety recalls affecting critical passenger safety systems, including the third-row side-curtain airbag recall and the second-row seat belt buckle recall. We have experienced firsthand the seat belts coming unbuckled during driving. These recalls affect hundreds of thousands of Palisade vehicles and involve defects where third-row airbags may not properly deploy in a crash and seat belt buckles may fail to latch correctly, increasing the risk of injury to occupants. Despite contacting my dealership, I have been given inconsistent information and no clear remedy timeline, leaving me with a vehicle that I reasonably believe is unsafe to operate and significantly diminished in value. I am seeking legal review regarding potential class action participation, consumer protection claims, or compensation for owning a vehicle with unresolved safety defects. At this time their only remedy offered is to swap the Palisade for a lender santa fe until it is repaired, this is something I have pressed for persistently to achieve.
Within months of purchase, I reported to james wood Hyundai in decatur that my children were repeatedly becoming unbuckled in the rear bucket seats. I was told the seatbelts were fine yet I continued raising this concern at multiple service visits because the issue persisted. This was an ongoing safety problem not an isolated complaint. Years later, Hyundai issued a recall for this exact defect. I promptly contacted the nearest dealership to schedule repairs and explained that this concern has been documented since shortly after purchase. I was informed repairs would be delayed several weeks because enterprise fleet vehicles were being prioritized and was told I am the “only person” experiencing this issue a statement that conflicts with a formal safety recall. Enterprise cannot legally rent vehicles with open safety recalls due to safety concerns, yet I am expected to transport my children in a vehicle with known defective rear seatbelts. Now there is another recall regarding passenger safety in the third row with no remedy so my children have no safe seat to use in my car. When I asked who’s responsible if my kids are injured in the second or third row of my car they will not respond.
Seat belt in the 2nd row became spontaneously unbuckled while driving. Seat belt was attached to my daughter's car seat and was snug and latched for several weeks before it spontaneously came undone while driving on the highway.
Manufacturer recall number283 NHTSA recall number25v607000 I took my car to mcgovern Hyundai in arlington, MA to have the seat belt recall issue fixed. The recall was issued in September 2025. I was told that they cannot fix the issue because they do have the parts. I have children who ride in the backseat of my car everyday. It is unsafe and unacceptable for Hyundai not to have the parts to address this recall.
The driver seatbelt latch component failed. Unable to fasten the seat belt. This is a huge safety issue. It puts the driver and all passengers at risk. I received the recall in January due to having seatbelt latch issues on the second row. My kids safety was put at risk on the seatbelt latch not working properly on second row. I took my vehicle to dealership and it took couple of weeks for dealership to receive the part to due backorder. This is the second time that the driver seatbelt latch needs to be replaced within just a month and half. Huge safety issue. No warning icon for seatbelt latch failure. The software is also another recall that keeps need to be updating.
I've been trying to get defective seat belt replaced since December 2025 as we've had occurrences where the buckle will come unlatched. The dealer just says there are no parts available and it's been 4 months!.
The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Palisade. The contact became aware on the website that the VIN was associated with NHTSA campaign numbers: 26v034000 (air bags) and 25v607000 (seat belts); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer confirmed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time to complete the recall repairs. The contact had not experienced a failure.
This recall has gone on for the last year. They still claim there are no seatbelts. I put 3 small kids in this car every single day and I’m supposed to trust this vehicle? it’s unsafe to drive with my kids in this car that I’m paying a fortune for. They are failing to provide safety.
5-6 weeks ago my seatbelt began unbuckling itself up to six times in a 25 minute commute. I called crain Hyundai of bentonville to schedule the repair as this is a recall issue. I was told since I was experiencing issues I’d be bumped up the list and they were anticipating parts the following week. I called back 2 weeks later after not hearing from them and spoke to a different person who confirmed I was on a list and they just don’t have the parts. I then called the Hyundai customer service line 2 weeks ago and started a case to escalate the issue since the problem is a life safety issue and persistent. I was told by my case manager that after speaking with crain Hyundai, I am not on a list and they will be escalating the matter. Crain Hyundai claims to have never heard of me, even though they confirmed my phone number back to me after the first call, and confirmed again after the second call. After requesting escalation through Hyundai to a supervisor because the case manager “could not disclose the internal issue” in which I am not on a list. I called crain myself and the female advisor said there is no list, never was, and they apparently don’t plan to create one either. I asked about trading it in and she said it’s fine, they just can’t resell them and that they have a stock pile of Palisades for this reason. I asked how I can be sure they aren’t hoarding the seatbelts as they come in for their own stock pile to be able to resell them and she just claimed I’d need an appointment to get a seatbelt. I asked about making an appt and she said I could but they won’t call if the part is not in. She claims she has not seen seatbelts come in for months, even though this recall has been around for a long time and I’ve had one belt replaced in 2023 already. Hyundai is not taking this life safety recall seriously at all and I’m concerned there is an opportunity to use up all the new seatbelts on their stockpile rather than current drivers who need them.
I own a 2026 Hyundai Palisade calligraphy hybrid, VIN [xxx] ]. My vehicle is included in two safety recalls: 1. Second- and third-row power-folding seats may fail to detect a person or object, creating a risk of trapping or crushing a child. 2. [second recall issue—e. G. , seat sensor/seatbelt defect] may prevent proper seat operation or restraint, further endangering passengers. I transport a toddler daily, and have another little one on the way. While these recalls are unresolved, I cannot safely use the vehicle. No accident or injury has occurred, but the defects pose a significant risk of child injury or death. I am filing this complaint to document these serious safety risks and request that the NHTSA ensure Hyundai addresses both defects promptly. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I am less than 8 months into a brand new vehicle that has had and has major safety recalls with no remedy in sight. I bought this car for safety and driving it while seatbelts and ejection mitigation have all failed NHTSA standards is horrifying for me and my family.
Seatbelts in front and middle row do not latch right away most of the time. We have to double check the every time and push extra hard to get them to click in.

2 open recalls on safety with no fix yet. Suspension has messed up, random electrical issues in dash and cruise control. My transmission also stalls at certain times. Dealership replaces struts, states they can’t get the vehicle electrical to act up although I have photos and videos and they can’t get the engine to stall. They can’t fix my seatbelts or the airbag and now a theirs row recall note was sent this week for it. This vechicle is not safe to drive/ride my children in and they can’t fix it.

My car has been at the dealership since Feb 2, 2026 and there has been no repair. When I inquire I am told there is a back order for parts. No one updates me unless I reach out. There is no help for a vehicle to drive or date when recall will be fixed.
When the recall for the seatbelts was first released I went to the dealership and was told my car was not affected which was incorrect. More recently they admitted it was included but it would be at least one year before I would see the repair completed. Now there’s another recall but Hyundai has no remedy!.
I purchased this car in September 2025 and learned about the seatbelt recall shortly thereafter. Since then I have been waiting for the repair- my local dealership has had the parts on back order since then. My children ride in the 2nd row and the seatbelt has come unlatched while we were driving on 5 separate occasions. This is unacceptable and put my children’s lives at risk. Hyundai should have parts available to fix this immediately. I need to know what can be done to ensure my children are safe. I have to drive my car so I don’t know what else to do. I need assistance for a solution.

I'm just realizing this is a recall. I have not been notified by mail. My second row passenger seatbelt does not always lock. I have been getting on my children thinking it was them. Also I have not been contacted about the third row head space issue. So I'm wanting to get me complaint online.

On December, 2025 I received notification from Hyundai DE puerto rico (sojitz DE puerto rico corporation) informing about the Hyundai recall number 283 (NHTSA recall number 25v-607) regarding the seat belt buckle assemblies problem (see attached notification document). On January 27, 2026 I took my Hyundai Palisade 2020 to the programed appointment at Hyundai DE cupey, Ave. Ponce DE león, #1385, san juan, pr 00926 for the inspection and replacements of my seat belts buckle assemblies. For my surprise, the service advisor ms. Adleni vazquez informed me that there was no such recall and that they were proceeding with an extended warranty on the vehicle seat belt assembly system. She also told me that they would only act during that warranty extension period if I could prove a malfunction of the seat belt buckle assemblies. I showed the safety recall notification letter and the action required to the service advisor, but still they denied the inspection of seat belt buckle assemblies. The advisor showed me the Hyundai DE puerto rico instruction regarding the matter which is only to provide an extended warranty. (see attached document). My vehicle was just serviced for an ecu upgrade of the emission system which I was told was the only recall pending (see attached service job document). Do I or my passengers need to be involved in an accident and suffer injuries or even death because my vehicle was one with the faulty buckle assemblies before I can make a claim and be provided with the needed service and remedy? I think this “extended warranty” argument used in puerto rico for recall 283 is a dangerous excuse for not providing the service required. Please, investigate this important safety issue and Hyundai DE puerto rico’s noncompliance. Once again, this is a serious issue that requires a prompt remedy. Due to is physical nature, it cannot be remedied merely with an “extended warranty”. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Vehicle is a 2025 Hyundai Palisade subject to Hyundai recall 292, concerning improper deployment of the third-row side curtain air bags in a crash, in noncompliance with fmvss 226 (ejection mitigation). Per Hyundai's recall notice, the remedy is still under development and no repair is currently available. The manufacturer has advised owners to continue driving while awaiting the remedy. The safety concern is significant because an infant is regularly transported in the third row of this vehicle. In a side-impact crash, improper side curtain air bag deployment increases the risk of injury or occupant ejection — a risk that falls directly on the person seated in the affected row. With no remedy available, owners have no means to mitigate this risk other than ceasing to use the third row entirely, which is not a reasonable long-term solution for a three-row SUV purchased specifically to accommodate additional family members. Regarding the specific guideline questions: the defect is a manufacturer-identified noncompliance and has not been (and cannot be) reproduced or inspected by a dealer, because no diagnostic or repair procedure exists. There are no warning lamps or pre-failure symptoms, as the defect would only manifest in the event of a crash. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance, as no crash has occurred. I am filing this complaint to formally document the safety risk while a remedy remains unavailable, and to request that NHTSA prioritize expedited development and deployment of the fix.
The system does not alert me if someone is sitting in 3rd row without seatbelt. No one has been injured, but I noticed it in January 2026. Not sure how long it has been happening.
The vehicle has two open safety recalls. Recall 26v034000 – the vehicle does not meet federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 226 for ejection mitigation. There is currently no remedy available. Recall 25v607000 – seat belt buckle may not latch properly, increasing the risk of injury in a crash. The vehicle also had a powertrain fault that triggered the check engine light and it has been at the dealership for more than 30 days for I am concerned about the safety of my famil.
This complaint concerns a 2023 Hyundai Palisade subject to two active safety recalls that remain unresolved, creating an ongoing safety risk. The first involves noncompliance with fmvss 226 (ejection mitigation), identified in a January 2026 recall. The manufacturer has acknowledged the vehicle may not meet federal occupant protection requirements but has provided no remedy and no timeline for repair. The second involves defective seat belt buckle assemblies that may fail to properly latch. An authorized dealer confirmed the condition and advised that parts have been ordered; however, no estimated arrival date or repair timeline has been provided. As a result, the repair cannot presently be completed. The vehicle is used to transport young children in rear-facing car seats that rely on properly functioning seat belts for secure installation. The inability to ensure proper seat belt function, combined with the lack of compliance with fmvss 226, presents an ongoing safety risk. Despite multiple written inquiries, the dealer has not provided any written confirmation regarding repair timing, instead offering only verbal and unverifiable updates. The manufacturer has been placed on written notice but has not provided any substantive response or identified an available remedy. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized dealer, who confirmed the recalls and the current inability to complete repairs. These conditions have persisted for months without an available repair path, leaving the vehicle in continuous use despite known safety defects and federal noncompliance. The inability to obtain a verifiable repair timeline or confirm parts availability demonstrates that the defects cannot be remedied within a reasonable time. Supporting documentation is attached. The lack of available remedy, combined with the inability to complete or verify recall repairs for safety-critical restraint systems, leaves occupants exposed to preventable injury risks in crash scenarios.
Along with the two recalls of which I have not been contacted by Hyundai or provided any form of remedy, this is highly concerning and makes me feel extremely unsafe driving my vehicle, especially with the fact that I have small children and teenagers. My car had an issue from inception that I’ve let the dealer know about that. They still have not fixed including the fact that well I’ll be driving on certain roads are on the highway. It’ll come up with a warning telling me that I’m going the wrong way and try to engage the automatic breaking system. In addition, the second row seatbelt has been stuck and it won’t go back in. The third row seats often times try to disengage and come down. Anytime I hit a small bump or go over a speed bump even very slow. My bluetooth goes off-line as well as the navigation and then it comes back online within 3 to 5 minutes. Carr seems to have had a number of odd issues, including the way the engine has sounded as well as the electrical system is not engaging properly. I feel highly unsafe continuing to drive this vehicle and until all recalls and full proper analysis is conducted to remedy these issues I would want either a full refund of the cash value that I purchased my vehicle for, a brand new vehicle at no additional charge, or a loaner vehicle until all of these issues are remedied, and then a full analysis to ensure that it meets the standards. My preference would be to get a full refund of the cash value in which I purchased my vehicle for so I can get something else that is more safe for my family.
My 2025 Hyundai Palisade has multiple open safety recalls that have not been repaired and make the vehicle unsafe to operate. The dealership confirmed safety recalls effect my vehicle and my car is currently at the dealership since April 3rd. The first recall 283, involves the seat belts in the 1st and 2nd rows. Parts were ordered on January 20, 2026, but the repair has still not been completed after several months. The second issue is recall 292 involving the ejection mitigation system and defective 3rd row airbags. This defect can allow rear passengers to be ejected from the vehicle during a crash. I have been informed that there is currently no remedy available for this recall. Hyundai has failed to provide a repair within a reasonable time, and one of the defects has no available fix. I do not feel safe transporting my family in this vehicle due to these unresolved serious safety issues. Hyundai provided me a 2024 sante fe loaner vehicle in which is currently under safety recall for seatbelts and has no other loaners available for me. Hyundai USA, case manager [xxx] , case #xxx has denied buy back without explanation. My vehicle is currently not drivable, unsafe, and no remedy available. I want a buy back to be able to purchase a new, safe vehicle for my family. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
