While driving down the highway, the vehicle started to loose power, started having a vibration and could see smoke in the rear view mirror. I pulled over and the engine had caught fire. Within minutes, the whole vehicle burst into flames.
Reset brake light assembly shorts out every year. This has been an on going issue since I have owned the car and the dealer always seems to be reluctant to repair it. This needs a recall urgentlet!.
My 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe limited has previously had two of four door latch assemblies fail. One was replaced under warranty one I paid the dealership to replace. Now a third latch assembly has failed. There are two tsbs against this failure (14-01-004-1 and 14-01-004) specifically for the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe yet the dealership says my vehicle is not included. This is a serious safety issue as when it occurs you have no ability to receive any safety information from the cars monitoring system because the entire display just says "door ajar".
Abs sensors going bad on these models. Happend today when I was just sitting with SUV running. Got a c1209 bad right rear sensor, read up on it and more people have had multiple failures with this. Some stated they got recalls depending on where they live and others didn't.
I was driving northbound on a freeway to pick up my 3 year old daughter. My car engine completely died/stalled while driving 65mph. As soon as I tried to get into the emergency lane, I noticed smoke coming from the engine. I grabbed my purse which was on the passenger seat next to me, and I exited the vehicle immediately . As soon as I exited the vehicle, the entire engine and front of my car was in flames. The fireman arrived on the scene within 5-10 minutes, but by the time they had gotten the fire out, my entire car was totaled. I had a recall on my car for possible engine failure while driving a year ago, I took my car into sacramento Hyundai where they told me they had fixed it, along with multiple other recalls on my vehicle that I was unaware of. Now, a year later after Hyundai said they fixed my recalls, my car stalled while driving, but this time the entire engine caught fire with it, and the entire car is totaled. It was the scariest, most traumatic experience I've ever been through. If I did not exit the vehicle immediately, I might not have made it out safely.
To whom it may concern, two weeks ago my 2013 Hyundai santafe sport turbo (which I purchased new in 2013) experienced an engine stall as I was driving on the freeway. I was able to coast to the side of the road and then experienced an engine fire that has caused extensive damage. The fire was extinguished as quickly as possible, but not before extensive damage had been caused. I had my car towed to my local auto shop and they have quoted the damage in excess of $2,000 and indicated that they believed the fire was due to a short in the electrical system. Upon doing some quick research on the internet, it seems that my experience is not uncommon. I see that an official investigation was opened in July 2018, yet there has not been a recall yet. If a recall had been issued, I would not have experienced this loss. Please let me know what course of action I should be taking. Thank you for your assistance.
On July 26, 2018 vehicle lost all power and engine began smoking and emitting flames. Car was in motion at approximately 70 mps in the middle of a tunnel on colorado interstate 70 with no pull off space. Cars behind reported flames from under the vehicle. We were able to exit without being harmed but inhaled horrible smelling fumes. Fire department personnel disconnect the battery to keep the engine from continuing to flame and smoke. Towed off interstate to safe area where they continued to monitor vehicle for continuing smoking and flaming.
Interior lights, phone, radio and dash lights turn on by them selves while driving on highway or back roads. Even if I don't have any electronics with me. The mobil phone worked two times in 2 yrs. Then it has not worked again, the lights might light but no connection occurs. Also- the air conditioner shuts off while driving on the highway 70 mph or 40 mph or cruising on a back road. I was in georgia with my two premature twins the temperature was 101 and no air! I had to stop every few minutes, turn off the car, wait then turn it on again. I may only get 10 miles and I would have to stop again. I had to make unexpected hotel reservations and left the car at a Hyundai dealership for 2 days to see if they could fix it. They were not able they couldn't find the problem. We started back home a 500 mile trip in 101 degree. With 2 premature babies no less than 5 miles down the road. . . . It started all over again! the same thing happened with the air conditioner of my 2003 Santa Fe. I assumed it must have been a fluke. . . Obviously not! because sadly here I am again! can you please advise me of the steps I should take next? thanks so much for your help! I will list the first date it occurred. It continues to occur.

Tl the contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe sport. While driving 50 mph, the vehicle jerked, lost power, and accelerated without warning. The contact veered to the shoulder of the road, turned off the vehicle, and waited for a few minutes. The vehicle was restarted and failed to resume normal operation. The vehicle was towed by roadside assistance to Hyundai of long island city (34-54 44th st, long island city, NY, (718) 819-6160) where it was diagnosed that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred multiple times. The contact mentioned that the battery was replaced two additional times. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The failure mileage was approximately 23,000. The VIN was unknown.

Driving down the street and all the interior lights come as well as th rear tailgate unlocks this is very dangerous.
The entire inside of my Santa Fe is damaged due to a fire in the seat. My car was locked overnight and parked in my driveway. The doors were locked and there is no sign of forced entry. The front drivers side seat is totally burned out and damage to the drivers door is melted. There is smoke damage in the entire vehicle. The vehicle had been parked for over 12 hours and not driven. We have called the police and thy say that no crime occurred and that the fire started in the seat. This is very dangerous and it must be related to the heated seat function in this car.
I have brought this car to my local Hyundai dealership at least 4 times within this last year with the most recent time being about a month ago, about a knocking noise coming from my engine that was so extremely loud when driving. The car hesitates and/or stalls everytime the knocking noise is present and, each time I bring it to the service department they tell me nothing is wrong with the car. The one time I brought the car for that problem they told me it was my rotors that needed to be resurfaced and charged me a few hundred dollars to "fix" it only to one week later have the knocking present again. I do not fell safe in this car driving always afraid that I'm going to stall out while im driving on the parkway or any other kind of highway where high speeds are present. Also, three things within the last month that is electrical has completely gone on the car one after another. My car is once again getting fixed which I was just informed will be another few hundred dollars. My car is a 2013, I shouldnt be having the problems im having and shame on lester glenn Hyundai for telling me numerous times nothing was wrong with my engine when the exact problems im having are identical to the recall. Any documentation you need is at the dealership in their computer systems.
When driving on the freeway, vehicle lost power and shut off, smelled and saw smoke coming from the vents. Pulled to side of road and opened hood to check engine and flames shot out, closed hood and truckers ran over with fire extinguishers and called fire department. Within 5 minutes vehicle was totally engulfed and fire department had arrived and could only prevent flames from spreading to surrounding environment. Vehicle was totally consumed by this catastrophic fire. Called Hyundai corporate offices in California to report it as the vehicle is under warranty and was asked 'what do you want us to do?'. Received the impression that they were not going to do anything about this.
All power locks and rear hatch not functioning properly. Can not unlock-lock car with Smart key, inside switch nor keyless entry. Rear hatch will not open at all. Car has to be opened manually with key.

I suffered a broken neck in two places and dislodged two cervical disc. Now having to go for surgery to repair disc damage. Hopefully I will regain use of left hand do to nerve damage.
6/25/13 my wife was traveling approximately 45mph on a 95 degree day (florida) when the air conditioner briefly blew hot air then stop producing any air period. The a/c light turned off and none of the other buttons would work. She took it to the local Hyundai dealership where they kept it for the day. She was advised they were unable to duplicate the incident, the vehicles computer did not show any errors, and the air performed properly for them. 7/10/13 my wife was traveling on the interstate at approximately 70mph and the air conditioner stopped blowing again. The a/c light was not illuminated and the air flow dial would not respond. She took it to the local dealership again and kept the vehicle running for the service tech to view. The service tech was dumbfounded by the incident. The vehicle was turned off and restarted and the air began to blow without issue. We have not picked up the vehicle yet but will update when its returned.
I bought a 2013 sante fe Hyundai in may, after driving for 2 weeks air conditioner went out, a/c light goes out and it stops blowing air. Pulled off road, turned car off and turned it back on. Took it to planet hundai in las vegas nv and they had the car for 10 days told me it was fixed. Replaced a transistor and said it was fixed, had the car back for 4 days and happened again, calling the dealer again tomorrow. Current mileage is 630.
6/10/13 while driving 45 mph with outside temp around 90 degrees my air conditioning stopped working. Tried turning off and on but would not work. Pulled to the side of the road turned the car off and restarted and the air conditioning worked again. I thought it was just a fluke. 6/28/13 while driving 65 mph on the interstate the car lurched and the rpms went up and down. I pulled to the side of the road but no lights were on and everything looked normal. I pulled back on the road and took the next exit. At about 35 mph the car started hesitating and then died. I coasted to the side of the road and it restarted on the first attempt. I was close to my destination so I drove there and called Hyundai assurance. They towed the car to the closest dealer and they have had the car for 3 business days and have not been able to duplicate the problem and the computer shows no errors. They said they would probably have to have a field engineer to come look at it. I don't know yet how long that will take. I loved the car until this happened. Now I don't think I will feel safe if they can't find the problem and fix it. Am I just supposed to keep driving it and hope this doesn't happen again and hope that no one is hurt next time.
The air conditioner cuts off for no reason which causes the heat inside the vehicle to go extremely hig causing us to pull over to the side of the road to restart the vehicle. This can be dangerous as there is not always a good place to pull off. If you don't pull off to restart the vehicle temperatures can rise to 100+ degrees very quickly especially here in florida!.
