After I get into my vehicle I push the lock button to secure all my doors but it will click back open for an unknown reason. This prevents me from protecting myself from someone entering my vehicle immediately after I do.
2013 Hyundai Santa Fe sport (fwd). Having trouble accelerating intermittently 3 times, happened on 10-15-2020 (on high way), 12-28-2020 (on high way) and 12-31-2020 (on local), car can not be accelerated when gas pedal stepped, tachometer shows zero, speedometer less than 40 mph. Car was back to normal after restart.
Car burned oil putting 2 quarts back in it every week/ topping it off. Oil light doesn't indicate oil is getting low and or does it come on. Left side of steering wheel controls don't work at all. What's the point of the bluetooth if you cant use the important part of the function that's supposed to help. Both in motion and stationary.
Since the vehicle made the 110,000 miles the steering wheel makes constant vibration and steering wheel clunking noise when moving in either direction and when driving around 60 to 85 mph,.
The camera has a tendency to just go black, losing all rear visibility. It happens when the car input in reverse and lasts a few seconds or more.
Purchased 4/9/2020. Had to buy battery within 1 month. Then rebuilt engine had to be installed and now I am having to put 1 quart of oil in the vehicle daily due to oil leaking under vehicle constantly which I have had to do for 1 full week until tomorrow when dealership agreed to service vehicle again!.
We had an engine light come on. Car had already been runny rough. Dealership said car was low on oil. They want to perform a oil consumption test. Internet search says this is a known issue. How do we get this resolved. Car currently has less than 100,000 miles.
My Hyundai Santa Fe sport 2013 model suddenly caught fire while the vehicle was in motion. There was no accident involved. Incident happened on Dec 5, 2019. I am attaching the fire department report. My wife was driving the vehicle on city road at a speed of 45 mph and suddenly smoke started coming out of hood. She stopped the vehicle, got out of it and a nearby driver called 911. Fire department folks reached the location in 5 to 10 mins and controlled the fire.
The vechile only has 78000 miles on it, and this was found in the parking lot of a grocery store at the time of the incident. Appears that insulation in the muffler system starts to come out. It appears that there is a hair like substance that comes out of the muffler, but is is found to be the insulation that lines the muffler when it is faulty/or bad.
The camera backup stopped working. I've seen on youtube that these cameras were poorly made. It's very difficult to see when backing up. I've check with Hyundai they are very expensive to replace.
On multiple occasions over last month my vehicle rpm shoot way up and the engine revs up when excellerating from a stopped position. Could be a stop light, to make a turn or from backing up and going into drive. Lasts about 15-30 seconds. When this happens the vehicle jerks forward. There are no check engine or any other lights that come on. I have taken to two separate shops and they say they can not find anything wrong, especially because the engine light doesn't come on. I carry small children in my vehicle and I am concerned of our safety. I have seen multiple reports of people's vehicles accelerating on their own and causing crashes.
Nothing has happened yet but abs, esc, dbc and parking brake light all on. I have looked this up and it seems this is happening to many of these vehicles. I'm just wondering why a recall has not been approved, for all these systems are serious safety issues. I'm bringing mine to the dealership Monday but was told I would more than likely be responsible for payment of this problem.
On October 7th 2018 while driving at highway speed on a four lane highway my Hyundai Santa Fe sport turbo began to make noises in the engine (no warning lights came on) then suddenly there was a popping sound coming from the engine compartment, the check engine light came on and the car completely shut off. I coasted to the shoulder and found smoke coming out from under the hood. When I opened the hood I found the whole engine compartment fully engulfed in flames. The car completely burned out while awaiting the fire department.
Hyundai is unable to transfer ownership when you buy a used vehicle in reference to the blue link controls. The original owner will maintain remote control of the door lock/unlock features as well as remote start and stop functions. You will be unable to purchase the safety features and unable to contact emergency services should the need arise. I am able to provide full email conversations with Hyundai blue link where they have been completely unhelpful up to the point they stopped communications with me by ignoring my repeated inquiries. I do not know who to file a vehicle complaint with. I have been trying to get this fixed since I bought the vehicle 9 months ago.
While vehicle parked, the sunroof spontaneously exploded. There was nothing contributed to the explosion, nothing hit the sunroof it just looks like it bulged out and shattered. Glass fell inside the vehicle on driver.
SUV stalled out on expressway at 50mph. The engine made a loud tapping noise then engline and oil light appeared on dashboard. I coasted down the exit ramp nearly being hit by merging traffic. The brakes became hard and costed to stop sign. I was able to get to next block to my home by placing car in park and restarting . The engine at this point sounds like a woodpecker tapping on wood. My vehicle has been towed to dealership and awaiting warranty repair. Authorization. This event mirror the recall issued by Hyundai and NHTSA#17v-226. I took the car in for this recall and was told 30min later that my engine was affected. I found out that they should have taken my crankcase off not just do an oil change. I am still waiting on world Hyundai to inspect my vehicle.
Since may I have been dealing up to August my car me et s the requirements for lemon l aw n I filed in may my car not safe to drive burns 2 qts of oil a week since they did recall between third parties in attorney general n service manager my car is inhumane for nearly two months of them consumer advocate falsifying documents n not getting this car serviced when the engine has a recall on the 2013 and I've recorded conversations n made copies when action should be in a 30 day window since August 8th please help!!!.
There is a rumbling noise after completing a turn, generally left hand turns. Also, during the turn, the engine oil light comes on and goes off.
Driving down the interstate, no other cars in front of me, sun roof exploded. As safety glass, millions of pieces of glass.
My 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe sport 2. 0t is on the rexalll list for engine problems; it was at dealer last week wher they changed out fuel pump & supposedly corrected an issue w metal debris in oil going to engine. Had problems less than 48 hours later; was told I could bring it in or take to get battery tested. Now, 48 hours after that check engine light is on. I believe the engine needs to be replaced as this is part of the recall on this model. It doesn't sound or feel right compared to you how it was driving a month ago when I purchased used with 36k miles.
Hood latch recall. I began the process of getting the hood latch cable replaced in August after learning of the recall. I feel that Hyundai made it purposefully difficult for me to get a replacement part. I was originally requested to drive over 3 hours to get to a dealer, and my reimbursement request went unanswered for several months. I was asked multiple times for identical identifying information and receipts, and was given information in a timely manner. At this date, I still have not received reimbursement for replacing this part. Due to my interactions, I believe Hyundai is purposefully making the replacement of this part a burden on consumers.
Push button start does not always start. Intermittent problem causing vehicle to strand us multiple times. Vehicle is parked and when you try to start it it will not start.
Takata recall. Religiously in for routine oil change and maintenance, not due for an oil change for 1200 more miles. The vehicle sat for 7 days while I was on vacation, ran fine before it sat. Drove the vehicle for 4 days after returning from vacation. About 6pm coming home from work, opposite from rush hour traffic. I suddenly heard slight ticking sound when I pressed on the gas to accelerate quickly getting on to the highway, I also noticed the rpms were high and not much power behind accelerating. Drove about 10-15 miles, ticking got louder when accelerating until there was a constant ticking and rattle in the front end. Parked the car let it sit for a night. Went to take it to the garage, upon starting the car there was ticking from under the hood, rattleling, and shaking, turned the vehicle right off. No check engine light, no low oil light, no dash notification lights light up indicating anything was wrong, temperature seemed normal. Popped the hood to check fliuds. Checked oil dipstick, dry as dry could be. No coolant, no oil. Have to have it towed to the dealership, afraid engine is shot! if I was to continue to drive the vehicle it could have seized up in the middle of the highway, causing an accident or loss of control. I am thankful my 17 year old was not behind the wheel. I am sure a heafty engine replacement bill is coming my way.
Engine recall.
While driving down the highway, our sunroof just exploded. Sounded like a bomb. I looked around and the sunroof was gone and glass was falling all over my husband and me. We had to pull off the road. This could have been a disaster. I believe Hyundai is at fault and should have to replace the sunroof, after doing a google search and seeing how many others this has happened to.
I was driving west on u. S. Hwy 80 at about 30 mph, after pulling out of a parking lot about 1 block before I lost control of my 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe, at an intersection. It made a sharp right turn without my help at all. After hitting another vehicle and then jumping a large curb, I came to stop about 18" from a small tree. I was completely traumatized. The right front wheel had a blow out from the outside side wall of the tire. The mechanic said it looked slashed. The big question is, did the blow out occur at the time my vehicle made the sharp right turn at the intersection, or did it occur when it hit the curb? I don't know, but I feel something happened to cause that sharp right turn in the first place. I had the mechanic check out the right front wheel area (axle, etc). They said they couldn't find anything wrong with the vehicles parts, that wasn't caused by the accident. This makes me more convinced it has to be the tire. This is the second tire that has blown out on the outside wall of the tire since I purchased this vehicle in 2013. The other blow out was from a nail going through the outside wall. I only have 11,045 miles on this vehicle. Tires are a kumho, crugen, p235/55r19, 101h sl bsw oe (information copied from a discount tire receipt when the first blow out was replaced 5-22-15). I am afraid to get back in this vehicle because I don't know what caused complete loss of control. I will trade it in on a different vehicle. I'm afraid of Hyundai's and kumho tires!.
I was heading home around 9 pm last night and only a few blocks from home when I heard a loud "pop" that sounded like a gun shot. I looked around and didn't see anything out of the ordinary but a few seconds later I started to hear tiny pieces of glass falling down on my sunshade under the panoramic sunroof on my 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe sport. When I got home, I saw that the front half of my sunroof had spontaneously exploded. Luckily, the sunroof and shade were closed when it happened, and I wasn't hurt, but it scared me to think it could have happened when the roof was open or while driving on the freeway! when I took my car into the dealership today, they said the roof had not been recalled and it was not covered under warranty. I had to open a claim with my insurance to start the repair. This is a huge defect and safety issue and Hyundai needs to take responsibility for the problem and cover the cost of repairs and my rental car. Ordering the parts and having them shipped from overseas and the repairs are estimated to take at least a week, if not two. Simple research on the internet has lead me to many other complaints of exploding sunroofs on Hyundai's and other vehicles manufactured at the same plants such as kia and Ford, as well as numerous photos of vehicles with identical damage. Hyundai has acknowledged the problem, yet my local Hyundai dealership will not recognize it as a recall.
The steering wheel vibrate in every condition of road and the vehicle some times take to the left side.
While driving over a bridge - the sunroof part of my moon roof exploded. The weather wasn't even hot / humid - about 85 degrees outside at the time. When I was able to pull over to see what happened - my sunroof was completed shattered with the edges still attached - but a hole over 12-inches in diameter was blown out and glass partials were dropped into the shade cover that covers the moon roof as my ceiling. The Hyundai dealership has only concluded that they will replace the glass with the same part and was not able to say if this issue would / could happen again.
I've had a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS for about six months (purchased new on 3/3/14). Several weeks ago around 8/22/14), when I tried to rapidly accelerate on to the interstate from the on ramp, the engine revved up to 8-9k rpm but it felt like the clutch/transmission never engaged and I could not accelerate. After letting my foot off the gas and retrying, the car ¿bucked and eventually, I was able to accelerate at a slower rate. This continued to happen several times over the next week. I took the car in for service and was able to demonstrate the problem to the mechanic. I was initially told it was the high resistance fuel pump which was replaced but as soon as I left the dealership and tested the car, the same issue happened. I brought the car back and a week later, they¿ve told me it is the low-resistance fuel pump and fuel line. I am very concerned that they keep replacing parts without any improvement in the vehicle. I have not made any changes to the way I drive the vehicle and this was definitely not happening the first five months that we owned the vehicle.
I was driving on I-95 in richmond virginia and my sunroof shattered.
You have to constantly fight the steering to keep the car from swaying to the left or right.
Est Feb 11, 2014. Driving on the PA turnpike and next thing I know the engine quit. Tried putting car in neutral and restart but it wouldn't. Was able to pull across 5 lanes of turnpike traffic to side - put in park and restarted. 13 April, 2014. In parking lot with motor running. Accidently hit base of key chain and car shut off. Key still in and on the position of started mode - like I hadn't turn it off. Reported 2x to limerick Hyundai in pennsylvania. Their suggestion is to take off house keys, small carabineer and just use car key only and alone. I noted that there was play in the key when in the ignition and asked if there might be a lose wire or if I should replace the ignition key lock. They didn't recommend it. Wondered if taking the key in and out couldn't have triggered a problem.
Vehichal stalls in traffic. No warning signs.
I have contacted Hyundai and have been getting the run around about the windshield wipers. The wiper on the passenger side does not clean the window properly - there is a pie shaped area on the bottom of the wiper, on the passenger side only, that does not hit the window. After many discussions with Hyundai and going to 2 different deals, they have said that it is a defect and that all or most Hyundai's have this defect. I feel that it is a safety issue since when it is raining hard, the wiper splashes back onto the window due to the fact that the wiper is not hitting the entire window properly. I feel this is a safety issue and since most of the Hyundai's have this problem, it is a defect that the manufacturer knows about, but does not want to take care of.
