36 Other Fuel System problem of the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 10/08/2024

Two issues with powertrain/transmission: 1- the powertrain/transmission fails intermittently- vehicle rpm goes sky high but vehicle receives no power, seems to fail/lose power. Has happened in very dangerous road conditions where unexpectedly was struggling to get the motor to engage/get power to the vehicle. Check engine and check hybrid system lights accompanies the problem. 2- the car should be driveable in electric only mode without use of gasoline. The powertrain/transmission seems to struggle to shift between electric and gas motors. Hyundai cannot seem to correctly diagnose or fix the issue. Does not seem they have proper diagnostic process included on the car- despite finding error messages stored in computer, they initially said they could not recreate the problem and therefore could not fix. 3 different trips to Hyundai dealership repair center, in total they have had my car for 10 weeks. They have replaced the transaxle and sent the car home, but that did not cure the issue. They now have my car again. It just does not seem they know how to identify or fix the issue. From online forums, I have learned many owners are experiencing the same problem and the same challenge to diagnose.

37 Other Fuel System problem of the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 09/24/2024

While driving on rural side road, two lanes, my check engine light (yellow, steady) came on. I pulled into a safe spot and did a quick survey, checked the owner manual, but could not identify any problem, and continued on my way. The check engine light was still on. About 15 minutes later the car would not accelerate past 25 mph (limp mode?). I was on a two-lane mountain road, speed limit 45 (but most cars were faster), visibility limited by terrain, trees, etc. Again, there was little traffic around me and I found a safe place to pull over. In neutral the engine revved normally. I turned the ignition off, checked oil level, (normal), turned the engine back on and started driving to find a safe place to pull over and summon help, but the car drove normally. I drove directly to my repair shop and had the codes pulled, (0436, 0021) which indicate a problem with timing. When a qualified tech examined it he recommended taking to the dealer. Unwilling to drive in traffic, I had it towed to the dealership. Their inspection revealed damage to cvvt components and the timing chain, and recommend an (expensive) engine rebuild.

38 Other Fuel System problem of the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 09/16/2024

Vehicle was being driven at highway speeds and suddenly lost the ability to accelerate with a "check hybrid system" warning. After pulling to the side of the interstate, car was shut off and restarted and brought back up to 40 / 50 mph when the same issue occurred with a lack of ability to accelerate and a "check hybrid system" warning. The issue appears to be related to some portion of the hybrid drivetrain. Car was then towed but two mechanics (one independent and one Hyundai dealership) could not replicate the issue and the vehicle system did not store any codes or history of the incident. The safety of the driver was put at risk by lacking the ability to accelerate on a major interstate, leaving the driver stranded for two hours waiting on a tow truck on the side of a busy interstate with traffic moving at speeds up to 75 mph.

39 Other Fuel System problem of the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 08/15/2024

Power loss with no warning or errors - hybrid system frequently fails to start gasoline engine when needed, resulting in sudden power loss and limited to 35 mph without warning. Serious concern at intersections and on major roads.

40 Other Fuel System problem of the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 07/31/2024

41 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 07/30/2024

I parked my 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe in a hospital parking garage on the morning of July 30, 2024. I was getting ready to leave after my doctor’s appointment. I slowly reversed my car and hit a pillar behind me. As I put the car into drive to come forward slowly, the car accelerated forward at a very fast speed. I took my foot off of the gas and kept pressing the brake pedal, but the car kept speeding forward on its own and I crashed headfirst into a concrete wall. The impact cracked the concrete barrier on the outside of the parking garage. The air bags deployed, causing fractures in my sternum and l1 vertebrae. This accident occurred near the elevators/stairs and cars were all around. If a person had been walking in my path to get to their car, he/she would have been severely hurt or killed. I was able to frantically steer the accelerating car into a handicap parking space and crash into the concrete wall, thus avoiding other cars. If that space was not available, my car could have crashed into another car with people inside. We were just told that the car is going to be totaled. If necessary, it could be inspected before that happens. I thought that I was going to die… the car was out of control. I do not want this to happen to others with this type of car…or put others in its path at risk.

42 Other Fuel System problem of the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 07/19/2024

When I start driving the car if I come up to a hill when I try to accelerate to move forward the cars engine cuts out almost like it stalls. I have to floor or pump the gas which makes a revving sound and the car will go.

43 Other Fuel System problem of the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 07/09/2024

The engine on our 2013 Santa Fe limited has seized. We have maintained this vehicle with regular oil changes, breaks, tires, and anything else our trusted mechanic has recommended. While driving, the car slowed down considerably and was not accelerating. No dashboard lights appeared. This was during evening rush hour and became very dangerous. I pulled over to the shoulder and called for help. Once the tow arrived, we started the car and the check engine light came on. I checked the oil, it looked good. Tow truck driver took it to the dealership. Dealership said the car had no oil and that the engine has seized. I saw that there was oil before the driver took the car. So, that's not possible. The dealership said they added oil and that we would need a new engine. After discussing with the dealership my very expensive option, I have been researching the recalls and problems others have been having with the exact same thing happening. If there was no oil, why wasn't the oil light coming on? why am I not due for an oil change for 1000+ mile? putting my family at risk in a well maintained car that should last 75k-100k more miles is a huge problem. I will continue to fight this until myself and others receive the proper care from Hyundai.

44 Other Fuel System problem of the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 07/05/2024

There is an extreme amount of hesitation/delay from when you depress the accelerator and when the vehicle accelerates. I have had multiple incidences (both from a complete stop and while already moving) where I depress the accelerator and there is a concerning amount of lag time before the vehicle initiates movement. This has almost led to multiple accidents. This defect happens in all drive modes. This issue appears to have gotten worse over the time we have owned the vehicle. We did not notice this issue earlier on. We bought the vehicle brand new in Dec. 23.

45 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 07/02/2024

This car is burning excessive amounts of oil. I care for it diligently with regular oil changes and scheduled maintenance. Earlier this summer, capital tire and service confirmed that the engine light was on due to a knock sensor likely caused by low oil. At their advisement I ran a consumption test; 800 miles later the engine was nearly empty of with another engine light signal. This light went off after adding 5 quarts of oil. I am routinely adding extra oil, hoping the engine does not seize, and waiting to see if Hyundai will issue a recall. This vehicle is not safe to drive.

46 Other Fuel System problem of the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 07/02/2024

On Monday nite returning Tuesday morning I was coming home from work and I noticed my engine light is on and car is not running properly. I had to drive slower than normal at 12:30 am I can usually drive the expressway but I am glad I didn’t . 47 Other Fuel System problem of the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 07/01/2024

The vehicle started to stall/drive in limp mode. I took it to the Hyundai dealership, and they quoted me $5000 for repairs. The repair recommendations were as followed: ensure connecting rod bearings are within spec, recommending performing timing job w/replacement of intake camshaft, e-cvvt motor/gear, e-cvvt cover, and other components necessary for repairs. This engine burns/consumes oil and the engine code that shows up in p00100. All of this after I paid it off. Not within warranty anymore either. $22,000 down the drain it seems. . . Called Hyundai customer service to see if there was anything that could be done but they said there is nothing they can do and I have to fix it even though it is a manufacturing issue.

48 Other Fuel System problem of the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 06/26/2024

Our 2024 Santa Fe while traveling 70mph on the freeway suddenly lost power and went into what Hyundai warranty described as "limp mode'. This happened 2x. The 1st time was June 26, 2024 and the 2nd time was June 29th 2024. Both times the high pressure fuel pump was diagnosed by 2 different Hyundai dealership service facilities. Both times were highly potentially serious risk situations- traveling at highway speeds in traffic when suddenly losing engine power, and having to navigate off freeway/highway with no acceleration, basically rolling/drifting off.

49 Other Fuel System problem of the 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 06/24/2024

My 2014 Hyundai sonata is subject to the recall campaign for the 2. 0l and 2. 4l gasoline direct injection (gdi) engines. Since June 24, 2024, the vehicle has exhibited multiple issues: 1. Check engine light: the check engine light is continuously on and blinking, signaling that the vehicle is unsafe to drive. Diagnostic codes retrieved include p0140 (O2 circuit), p0172 (system too rich), and p0126 (knock sensor circuit). While the p0126 code pertains to the knock sensor, there has been no definitive diagnosis to determine if the issue is isolated to the sensor or indicative of a deeper engine problem. 2. Engine power issue: the car experiences jolts and kicks back during acceleration, along with intermittent lack of power. Furthermore, an independent mechanic performed some tests on the engine, determining that it runs too rich. After the second white smoke through exhaust incident, the vehicle struggles, and often does not reach, 60 mph; aligning with "reduced power and/or hesitation" (case #2) in the recall campaign. 3. Exhaust smoke: on two separate occasions, within a month, white smoke has been observed exiting the exhaust. Engine oil has been below 3/5 empty each time. No oil leak found; must be exiting through exhaust. Despite qualifying for the recall, the Hyundai colorado springs dealer has refused to inspect or replace the engine as required. These ongoing issues pose significant safety risks, including the potential for unexpected engine failure and loss of power while driving.

50 Other Fuel System problem of the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 06/22/2024

Several times lately of extended crank. Saturday evening, car had been parked for 4 hours, did remote start and had extended crank of about 2 seconds. Car ran for about 3 minutes before we left. We left home and hit main road, tried to accelerate and vehicle seemed to go into limp mode. Would keep cutting the fuel out if tried to accelerate even above 40 mph. No check engine light came on. Put in neutral, could not get above about 3500 rpm. Vehicle was in Smart mode where decides which mode to be in (normal, fuel economy or sport), when would try to accelerate it would try to change to sport as it knew power was not there. Was on a 6 lane highway and could not get up to speed. Finally was able to pull to side of road, shut engine off, waited a few seconds, restarted and issue went away, still no check engine light. I have contacted my local dealer, they said they have seen on another vehicle, was not sure of outcome, having service manager call me. Lots of complaints online forums of similar issues.

51 Other Fuel System problem of the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 06/11/2024

Engine has goes on out at 99000 miles has seized up .

52 Other Fuel System problem of the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 06/03/2024

In June 2024, my vehicle suddenly lost power while I was driving on the freeway, almost causing a serious accident. I managed to restart the car after being stuck on the shoulder of the freeway for several minutes. The same issue occurred the following day, prompting me to have the vehicle towed to the dealership. Hyundai motor was contacted since the vehicle is still under warranty. The dealership informed me they would conduct an oil consumption test three times to diagnose the issue. However, they also stated that for the test to be successful, I needed to replace unrelated parts, including the brakes and transmission oil, among other items. Reluctantly, I agreed and spent $1,800 on these replacements. After completing the first oil consumption test, I returned for the second test. However, the dealership informed me that no further tests were necessary and returned the car to me without addressing the underlying issue. I emailed the case manager assigned by Hyundai to report this, but I never received a response. A few months later, the car failed to start. I contacted Hyundai again, and they dispatched a tow truck. The tow truck driver managed to start the car. A few days later, the issue recurred, and the roadside assistance tow driver suggested it might be the battery. Out of frustration, I paid $300 to replace the battery. Despite this, the car continued to make unusual noises at startup, a problem I had repeatedly mentioned to the dealership and in my communications with Hyundai. The situation reached a critical point today when my wife was driving the vehicle on the freeway with our five children inside. While traveling at 60 miles per hour, the car suddenly lost power again, putting their lives in danger. This is the third time this hazardous issue has occurred, and I fear for the safety of my family.

53 Other Fuel System problem of the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 06/01/2024

My 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe sport burns through 2qts of oil between oil changes (every 3000 miles). I check my oil once a week to make sure I have adequate oil to ensure my engine doesn't blow, Hyundai has open recalls on the 2017 models of my vehicle but my VIN number is not included. . . I have complained to Hyundai corporate and also the dealer and they state that I have to do an oil consumption test, at cost to me, to prove that their engine is defective. . . I first noticed this issue about 1 month after I purchased my vehicle, I was driving and my oil light flashed on for less than a second, I stopped at my sisters house and let my engine cool down and checked my oil and there was absolutely none. . . I refilled it and then began checking my oil weekly. I add at least 1/4-1/2 quart per week between oil changes. Every time I take my car in for an oil change they have to add an extra quart and make me aware that my vehicle is burning a significant amount of oil. . . This is my everyday car, I use it to get back and forth to work, I transport my children in this vehicle. There is a 953 recall and also 218 but my VIN is not included.

54 Other Fuel System problem of the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 05/20/2024

Middle of may 2024 car begins to feel like it's shifting when accelerating and stopping. Nothing found by Hyundai service dept. Lakeland. On apx. [xxx] while driving stepped on gas pedal and felt no power. Kept pumping the pedal & car started jerking. Managed to get to light and get in left lane to turn into plaza honking horn. Car slid to a stop at entrance. On apx. [xxx] my husband was driving home and same thing happened. Managed to slide car into our driveway. Both times the car had to be towed to dealership. Two fuel injectors have been changed and when I asked them to change other two they said warranty would not allow. Worst case scenario is if this happens on the interstate traveling at 75 miles per hour. Not only could we be killed but others. Both times there was no warning lights or any other warning. The car just started jerking and lost power. It can very well cause a car to rear end us and a multiple car chain reaction hurting or worse killing others. I am filled with anxiety every time I take the car out for errands. I also saw a similar incident reported in the better business bureau here in tampa by another person. I reported my incident to Hyundai corporation by phone and email and asked the rep to reported it to her superiors to see if they could just please let the dealership replace my other two fuel injectors & I was told they could do nothing. The dealership has told me several times the injectors must fail before they can replace. Apparently, the cost of the injectors is more than someone's life. 55 Other Fuel System problem of the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 05/05/2024

I filled up my gas tank and the digital guage was on 266 miles. After I filled up, it was the exact same mileage on the dashboard. It did not move after putting in about 4-5 gallons of gas.

56 Other Fuel System problem of the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 05/04/2024

Was driving on the highway while it was in cruise control and on several occasions when trying to accelerate the vehicle would jerk aggressively and struggle to accelerate. It did this about 3 times on my way to my destination. Took it in and they said they couldn’t find anything wrong with it nor could they replicate the issue. No work was on done on it.

57 Other Fuel System problem of the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 05/01/2024

From a complete stop when pressing the accelerator, the vehicle does nothing. This can last 1 second or in longer episodes it can last 4-5 seconds. No lights on the dash. It’s random and happens sporadically. But when it’s bad, you have enough lag to count to 5 and turn on the hazards.

58 Other Fuel System problem of the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 04/26/2024

6 months ago my rod bearing broke in my engine, and I needed a new engine. From the engine recall. With a broken rod bearing you get an oil consumption problem. Oil consumption ruing your cat converter. But they aren’t telling anyone that. 6,000 miles after my new engine, my catalac converter broke. These cars are dangerous. They’re not telling anyone that this is the next problem. They just put you back on the road. Not to mention bad for the environment!.

59 Other Fuel System problem of the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 04/23/2024

I bought this vehicle back in 2022 hearing how great Hyundai is wanting to make a long time purchase with a for my family. I’ve had different models vehicles but I wanted something reliable. Now hearing this is possibly a fire hazard I need all this taking care of immediately . I am dependent on my car to get to work, for food, and I take my kids to school an to practice and just everyday life. I will take my vehicle to the dealership immediately to attempt to get this taking care of this week an hopes this company can make it right. Thanks for your time.

60 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 04/19/2024

While driving my 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe sport in freeway traffic, I felt the vehicle begin to heavily vibrate and the engine was jerking severely. The speed began to slowly descend. I was unable to control this. I was in a one-lane overpass, with no safe place, room, or lane to pull over. I felt hopeless and fearful for my life. I was literally drifting, praying the vehicle would be able to handle the descent upward. As the speed declined, the vibrations became more pronounced. No dash lights were illuminated. Other drivers behind me were approaching rapidly at the speed limit and slamming on their brakes and hazard lights in an attempt to notify drivers further back. I managed to maneuver over to approximately 24 inches of a faux shoulder on the right of 610 west freeway in houston, texas. Cars hurled past mine within inches of my vehicle. I knew I needed to get out of the car and crawled over to the passenger side. Again, I was trapped. Several hpd units were dispatched to literally shut down the freeway to enable a tow truck driver to safely hook up my SUV. I had it towed to my mechanic and he did a diagnostic indicating a compression issue. He ordered new spark plus and 4 new coils. Upon further investigation he discovered that cylinder 4 was not holding compression and he informed me that the engine had failed. I then had it towed to the local Hyundai dealer. At check in, I was informed that there would be a $700 diagnostic/tear apart fee to discover what repairs were needed. I informed them exactly what was needed and I expected a new engine. The Hyundai mechanic dismantled the engine and took pictures, ran a few tests. He submitted the results to Hyundai for approval. The engineer at Hyundai denied a new engine claiming "the head coil is not part of the recall". I was told for $2500, Hyundai would "refab" my damaged head to control the leaks. If that repair didn't address the issue, I was sure to get a new engine. A financial and physical risk.

61 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 04/07/2024

I just got Hyundai SUV last December and already cause problem with engine and abs, after I found out that it is recalled a while ago. First abs, I was going to fix that but all attention to me is engine light then found out it is high pressure fuel pump then burning oil that I smelled something isn't right. I feel it's not safe to drive and I spoke to mechanic, he told me take it back to dealership that they gave me a lemon Hyundai. . I talked to the dealership mechanic shop and never tell me anything how much for high pressure fuel pump? so I already saw my SUV problem and I decided to check website for Hyundai recalled, that what I had right now. . It's only 6 years old and only 90,000 mileages on that SUV. That smell is very odd and it will cause engine fire. .

62 Other Fuel System problem of the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 04/04/2024

I was driving the vehicle on the left lane of the freeway and the acceleration suddenly gave out. The car began to slow even when I pushed on the gas. Heat gage was fine and no lights went on. I quickly got over 4 lanes of traffic to the next exit and was able to pull over to the side of the road. White smoke began to billow out of the hood on the offramp and all the emergency light indicators came on at once. I turned the car off and the smoke turned black. I popped the hood and flames lept out from under the hood. I jump out of the car and ran, leaving everything behind. I got safety away from the car and called 911. All of this happened within 2 minutes of losing acceleration. I typically have my two children in carseats in the car for school drop off and, thank god, they weren't with me. The fire overtook the front quickly and spread to the main cabin. By the time the fire department arrived (appx. 5-7 min) the car was completely engulfed. Nothing was salvaged. There is a fire report with the fire department. The police were not called. The car had gone through a full inspection and oil change one month prior and had no warning signs or issues. I lost a number of things in the car, including my purse, work items, kid's items, carseats, etc. Just after the incident, I developed a cough and severe headache that lasted two days. I also twisted my knee while running away, exacerbating an old injury. I am also dealing with acute mental health symptoms and am seeing a psychologist. I have not yet returned to work due to brain fog and exhaustion.

63 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 03/29/2024

I got my oil changed 98,161 March 1 2024 at mechanic shop mechanic shop checked oil March 29 2024 at 98,867 a total of 706 miles driven since last oil change. They added 2. 5 quarts of oil. So I did my own research online found out the Hyundai 2018 Santa Fe sport turbo 2. 5 theta engines has excessive oil consumption problems that will cause engine to seize/lock up, catch on fire, and other mechanical problems. I have an extended warranty txxi and txxc. Oil consumption leaks into the pistons and rod bearings and will cause a knocking in the engine. The oil is already in spark plugs and pcv valve which I replaced. But it will continue to keep happen over and over. I don't want my engine to catch on fire with me in it or at all that's why I am proactive in getting this solved now its already a problem. I contacted wilson Hyundai dealership they did an 2 month oil consumption test oil change I had to drive it for 1000 miles it failed. Then they did combuster chamber cleaning I had to drive it for another 1000 miles it failed again. So they submitted claim to corporate that I needed an engine. Corporate declined saying I was over my miles they had the wrong mileage it was a way just to deny me but dealership had correct miles so they could not follow through with that lie. So corporate made dealership send another claim in this time corporate denied it saying I was over my warranty. No I was not I started this at 98, 867 miles when 2. 5quarts had to be added. I also had to wait a week to get into wilson dealership because they were backed up in appointments I was at 100,212 miles and so where other hyundia dealerships others were 1-2 months out in appointments. I had to be in a rental car for 2 months had to pay for it and still pay car note paid for oil testing which I was told I would be reimbursed for repairs and car rentals but they did not honor it nor did they pay goodwill pay for all of my inconvenience 2 month long testing and it failed and they still denied/ lied.

64 Other Fuel System problem of the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 03/27/2024

Loss of acceleration while driving. This has occurred multiple times (always while moving or actively driving). The first time we were driving up a significant hill and the car slowed, lost power and we had to pull over and coast back down the mountain to a repair center. The second time, I was on the freeway and lost acceleration causing me to pull off the road in median. The third time, I was at a stoplight and when the light turned green, I had almost no movement after edging into the intersection. Eventually, at about 5 mph, the car regained speed. The check light went on in the first event and the car was supposedly repaired at the second dealership by re-tensioning "pins". However, no lights or warnings went on for incident #2 or #3 that occurred after the earlier repair effort. The vehicle is currently at the dealership service center for it's 7th day of "unable to replicate the problem" after incident #3.

Failure Date: 03/21/2024

My 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe had a new engine installed at the dealership, fred beans Hyundai flemington, NJ. I picked it up on [xxx] on [xxx] (and after 134 miles) my car's check engine light came on. I rerouted to dealership about 8 miles. Sitting outside service bay, I smelled smoke and then saw smoke coming out of vents. I then jumped out of car and the car became engulfed in flames and subsequently exploded. The day I picked it up, I pointed out to the service manager that they had not reattached everything to the car properly, sloppy workmanship. Best guess is that they did not attach a valve correctly. Miracle no one was injured or killed! information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

While driving and must stop due to traffic light, stop sign or intersection and the auto start is on as soon I lift the foot foot from the brake pedal to continue driving the vehicle stumble and it completely stop the engine while the vehicle transmission is still in drive. In order to start again I have to switch transmission to park and turn key ignition switch to start vehicle, it start again and I can continue. While driving and must stop due to traffic light, stop sign or intersection and the auto start is on as soon as I lift the foot from the brake pedal to continue driving the vehicle stumble and it completely stop the engine while the vehicle transmission is still in drive. When I take the vehicle to the dealership the service writer writes on the computer but they do not allow me to see a copy of what I am reporting. I like my vehicle, I just want it to be fixed and me and my two daughters be safe when needed after a mandatory stop due to traffic signs, intersection driving through or any other emergency stop and go due tragic and or road condition.

Vehicle gave no indication oil level was low. Traveling i24 east, the vehicle began to stall, preventing any speed above 40mph. After settling along the shoulder of the highway I checked the oil reservoir which was completely empty. No indication was given that oil was needed. Vehicle had not met the month or milage requirement for needed oil change.

70 Other Fuel System problem of the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 01/31/2024

The car has been taken to the dealer multiple times for not accelerating out of 1st gear when starting up, and also for shuddering at high speeds. We have been stranded, hundreds of miles from home on 2 occasions, first with less than 30,000 miles because the spark plugs needed to be replaced. And the second occasion, also hundreds of miles from home, because the car failed on the highway and limped into a dealership, where one of the fuel injectors was replaced at approx 50,000 miles. The mechanic at this dealership voiced his concerns that these were the original fuel injectors, he said he was aware of the problem, but was only permitted to replace one of the fuel injectors. The car continues to shudder at occasionally, and refuses to shift out of 1st gear at odd times. We have tried to get Hyundai to replace the fuel injectors, but they refuse. I would like this to be serve as a record of our problems so that others can be aware of a problem that exists with these cars. This is a safety issue, as if the car will not accelerate on a highway or crossing a road, it is possible to have an accident. Also, having the car fail on a remote highway is also a safety issue.
