We purchased my 2022 Hyundai sante fe in July of 2021. I had about 5000 miles on the vehicle at the time. On October 15th I was driving down a 2 lane road and heard a pop, I didn't think much of it, thought it might have been an acorn that fell on my roof as the area I live in is very treesy. Later that evening when we got back in the car to leave, we noticed the windshield was cracked, probably about a six inch area. I told my husband earlier that day I heard the popping noise but did not see anything actually fly up and hit the windshield. So we proceeded to call the insurance company who told us the entire windshield would need to be replaced. We were responsible for our $500 deductible. The repair shop contacted every Hyundai dealership in the southeast region only to find out the windshields were on backorder until oct. 31st. (red flag) in the meantime the crack has spread all the way across the windshield. We found it odd that windshields would be on backorder so we googled "Hyundai sante fe cracked windshields" and we were floored at the amount of stories out there with the same exact problem, not only with the sante fe but other Hyundai SUV models as well. I just wanted to bring this to your attention because I feel the windshields are defective and unsafe. I don't know how many people this has to happen to before Hyundai acknowledges the issue. Even if it were an acorn that fell, it should not have done the damage that it did. I still feel it was spontaneous as I did not see anything actually hit or bounce off the windshield. So here we are still waiting on the windshield to arrive at the repair shop and out $500.

About 10 minutes in to a trip all of a sudden the windshield started fogging up. The climate control panel was in auto, blend with part of the air going to windshield, part to floorboard, temp set to 72degrees engine was fully warm, and we were at 55mph. The fogging was not gradual, from the time I noticed the windshield starting to fog, until visibility was significantly reduced all the way to the dash was less than 2 minutes. It was if a system had shut off. I activated the front defrost button,, high fan to clear the window and it actually was worse for a few seconds. I turned up the heat to 85, and the windshield started clearing. This issue has been reported by others. Weather outside temp about 45 degrees, light rain. When the trip started the windshield was perfectly clean and clear of any interior fog.

2010 Hyundai Santa Fe, I reeported a problem yesterday about a shadow on the front windshield, upon further looking at the problen wehave come to the conclusion that the low beam headlights is causing all the problem, this is a safty issue, when driving at night on dark streets or highways your visability is cut by three quarters, some one would have toi take the car out to see this problem.

The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact started the ignition in the vehicle and smoke erupted from the front windshield and instrument panel. There was no warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact immediately exited the vehicle and inspected underneath the hood, but there was no smoke or flames. The windshield was damaged. There were no injuries. The fire department was not called to the scene. A rock hit the windshield while driving on the highway and the windshield exploded. The driver pulled over, and had the vehicle towed to the dealer. The damage was extensive even though the object did not come through the windshield. The impact literally broke the inside of the windshield apart and caused shards of glass as well as pulverized (powder consistency) glass to strike the consumers wife in the face as well as spraying glass throughout the vehicle.

The windshield cracked for no apparent reason. There is no damage from a rock or anything else. The crack starts approximately 3 inches above the bottom corner of the driver side windshield edge and makes an arc toward the center a few inches then upwards about 12 inches. The view through one side of the crack is distorted as compared to the view on the other side of the crack.

A crack in the windshield appeared one day. Nothing had hit the windshield. It is a small arc on the drivers side about 3" from the bottom of the windshield. When I brought it to the dealership they said that something hit it and the heat inside the car caused it to crack. The place where they said something hit the windshield only the point of a pin could fit in. I know nothing hit it. One a few occasions I have noticed a grinding sound coming from the transmission. I also have had the abs engage when the breaks were not being applied and the road surface dry. There wasn't a reason for them to engage.
