The visors on my 2007 Hyundai Sonata hang down and will not stay out of my line of vision. This is on both sides of my car and has almost cause me to be in several accidents.
The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated the driver's side sun visor was hanging at a ninety-degree angle and would not remain in the upward position. The visor was obstructing the driver's view of the roadway. The dealer advised that the part needed to repair the visor would have to be ordered. The dealer did not provide an estimated time of arrival. The contact was awaiting repairs. The failure mileage was 48,000 and the current mileage was 48,500.
My drivers side sun visor just flops. It started to do this a week ago and when it did this I was on the tobin bridge going into boston and I almost lost total visibility. There should be a recall on this! I see many people on here with this issue. At 120. 00 for the part. . . That's not right!.
I bought my 2007 Hyundai Sonata used at carmax in 2007. Within one month, the drivers side sun visor had broken. Because the car was under warranty, it was repaired without cost. Now, over the past month, the passenger side sun visor has begun broken as well. Because my car is over the 60k point, the local Hyundai dealership where the 1st visor repair was made, says it will be a $150 repair cost. I also called Hyundai USA- they claim there was no recall on this defect. I had a Nissan sentra for 13 years, and I never had to replace the sun visors. There is obviously a safety issue with these visors, because I have seen several other complaints on the internet for the same issue. I hope that NHTSA will investigate this complaint and all the others and issue a ruling in favor of Sonata owners.
The driver sun visor in Hyundai Sonata 2007 is loose. It doesn't stay up, it just drifts down. Its a safety hazard since it happened on my passenger's side too. There are numerous complaints regarding this issue. Make this a recall since this part not covered after 60000 miles on the car. Hyundai makes it really costly to replace a single part. They charge $145 to replace a single side. This should be a recall.
Bought a 2007 hyuandi Sonata gl and both driver and passenger sun visors have broken and flop down in your front of your face while driving. They will not stay up in their clips. This is a bad distraction that could lead to a potential accident because it causes limited visibility while driving.
Both sun visors fail, you hear a pop and then they will not stay up any longer. I have already paid $100 to have one replaced now the drivers side has broken. This is a 2007 Hyundai Sonata.
2007 Hyundai Sonata sunvisor 1. Around June 25th, the passenger side sunvisor started falling down on its own, and not staying in the closed position. Then, the driver side started doing the same thing. 2. At first, I could push it back up, and it would remain up, however after a few weeks, it would not stay up at all. As soon as I would push it back up, it would fall back down. The consequences of this were as follows: when it falls down, it obstructs my line of vision. As you can imagine, the sunvisor suddenly dropping down while going 70mph is not a very safe act. This is a potential safety issue, and should be recalled ASAP. 3. Nothing has been done so far, according to Hyundai, there is a complaint for this problem, but it is considered a TSB, or technical service bulletin. A TSB is only covered during the warranty period, and since my vehicle is out of warranty, I am out of luck. I, as well as many others feel this is a safety hazard, and should be considered a recall, not a TSB. It is my understanding that in the case that a problem is safety related, a recall is put out for it. I feel that Hyundai has "masked" this problem as a TSB so they can get out of fixing all these peoples visors. I request that NHTSA look into this matter.
Passenger and driver visor both will not stay up during travel. Both fall in the vision of the driver.
Sunvisor on both sides of my Hyundai Sonata 2007 just fell.
Sun visor is broken and falls in driver face. I see there are many other people with the same issues here. Was driving on the freeway at 65mph when this happened. Could have been very dangerous.
Sun visor on driver side was put down to block sun. When pushing it back up out of the way, visor would not stay in up position against ceiling. Sun visor now will not stay up and continually droops down blocking my view while driving. I have researched this on the internet, and there are many other drivers who have encountered this same problem. I am assuming there is a part defect, and this should be recognized and fixed by Hyundai as it is a safety issue.
2007 Hyundai Sonata driver side sun visor keeps falling into my field of view. Every few seconds. All day long. It is a distraction and falls directly in front of my face. I have found hundreds of posts on the internet about this problem. I can't figure out a way to keep it from falling into my field of view without resorting to duct tape. I am constantly pushing it up,down, sideways. I might as well be texting. Dealer acknowledged that it was a very common problem and offered to fix it for 135. 00. Same bad visor with bad design.
Then sun visor keeps falling down. Dealer replaced under warranty but this is a widespread problem. The sunvisor drops down while driving, in line of sight, and you can't see. This should be a recall as it is a safety matter.
The driver side sun visor of the 2007 Hyundai Sonata does not stay in the up position. It either falls at an angle pointing at the drivers head or falls straight down, obstructing the drivers vision.
We have a 2007 Hyundai Sonata limited, purchased new. Within our warranty period (under 60,000 miles) the passenger visor would not stay up. At that time the dealer replaced it under warranty. Now it is happening again and they say it will cost us $130 to get it fixed. I guess because we are over the 60,000 miles the warranty will not cover it. It seems like others have had the same issue so I doubt this is an isolated issue.
The sunvisors in my 2007 Hyundai Sonata will not stay up and will not stay fully extended. They hang right in the line of sight. This is most certainly a mfg defect and a safety issue. I also have a 1995 GMC and 1967 pontiac both still have their original sunvisors that work perfectly.
Driver's-side sun visor broken at hinge. Drops from ceiling and blocks driver's view.
The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Sonata. While driving at 35 mph, the driver side sun visor fell into the contacts lap. She pulled over and later called the dealership. She was informed that there was no recall and she would have to pay for the repair at her expense. She called the manufacturer but was told that she was responsible for the repair costs. The current and failure mileages were approximately 86,000.
2007 Hyundai Sonata - driver's side sun visor will not stay up or down. Has to be tied in up position or hits driver in the forehead. Very annoying, potential safety issue. Dealer says - "if vehicle under 60,000 miles, will replace under warranty. " seeing internet full of same problems, looks like it should be a safety recall free to owner no matter how many miles.
The sun visor over my driver side 2007 Sonata hangs straight down. I went to adjust it and it made a crackle noise and can no longer stay up and out of the way. This is blocking visibility of the traffic lights.
The sun visors in my car worked fine and then the next both of them stopped working. The sun visors will not stay in the up position and hand down in my line of sight which limits my vision. Recently, this failure of the sun visor caused me to run a red light because I could not see up.
2007 Sonata,v^, both sunvisor broke at a cost of $100ea to replace. Claimed it was due to cold weather. Sun visor would not stay up. Hindrance when driving.
I have a 2007 Hyundai Sonata. About 6 months ago the drivers side sun visor broke and will not stay in the upright or down position. The $120 to fix this is prohibitive, so I have tried using tape, velcro and string to keep it up. None of these work. This is a safety issue because my field of vision is severely limited by my visor.
The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the sun visors would fall down into the contact's view of the roadway. The contact used a pin to hold the visor into place. The dealer advised that the visor could be repaired at the contact's expense. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure occurred previously and the dealer made repairs to the visor in 2007. The failure mileage was 65,565.
Put driver's side sun visor down, something broke, and now visor will not stay up. Tried to fix, but have to manually push it up every minute or so.
I have the same prolem with my car too. Sun visor quit staying up. It slowly falls down blocking your view. This was on the drivers side. Now the passager side does it too.
Hyundai Sonata, 2007. Under normal operating conditions, initially the passenger-side sunvisor started sagging, partially obstructing my (I. E. Driver's) view. 2 weeks later the driver-side sunvisor also started sagging, thus seriously obstructing my view and hitting me in the head. I've contacted the dealership and consumer affairs and am awaiting a response.
Sun visor on the driver side of my 2007 Hyundai Sonata does not stay in place. It was working fine, and then all of a sudden one day it was down and I could not put it back in place.
2007 Hyundai Sonata. Both sun visors: the plastic cracks, you hear a clicking noise then the visors will not stay up anymore. The visors hang down in your line of vision. I tried velco to fix but it is not strong enough so I literally sewed the visor to the roof of the car.
The driver side and passenger side sun visors fail to stay in the upright postion. This is very distracting for the driver and can block the driver's vision. After investigating similar problems on the internet, the 2007 Sonata seems to have a very high failer rate on the sun visors. The plastic part (not metal) that is resposible for holding the sun visor upright is not designed well enough to function as intended. Passenger failed at 40k miles and the driver at 80k miles.
I have a 2007 Hyundai Sonata with a problem with the sun visor. In three years I have had to replace the drivers side twice and the passenger side once. When it fails the visor drops down and you can't see past it. I have checked the internet only to find this is a common and dangerous situation.
My 2007 Sonata driver's sunvisor locked up at around 58000 miles and when I attempted to lower it the internal components of the sunvisor broke loose causing the sunvisor to drop down in my line of sight while driving. If raised out of my line of vision it would drop unexpectedly, blocking my line of sight leaving me in danger of hitting another car or person. I took my car to the Hyundai dealer and they replaced the sunvisor at no cost to me. Approximately 4 months later the passenger side sunvisor did the same thing. Once again I returned to the Hyundai dealer and they replaced the passenger side sunvisor at no cost to me. At 90000 miles the driver side sunvisor once again locked up with the same resulting malfunction occurring. This time the Hyundai dealer said my car was out of warranty and it would cost me $160. 00 to have it replaced. This is a terrible safety hazard to have the sunvisor drop down with out warning blocking your line of sight while driving in heavy traffic. A recall should be done since while surfing the web I discovered many people have encountered the same problem.
The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Sonata. While driving the driver-side sun visor had suddenly fallen in front of her view, and would not stay in the upward position. The vehicle was taken to the dealership and the sun visor was replaced. The current and failure mileages were 71000. Updated 1/25/10 the tpms light had illuminated and the dome light was not working. Updated 01/26/jb.
The sun visors in the 2007 Hyundai Sonatas are getting to hot and melting. I have tried to pull down both visors and the both have cracked and broke. I am a fairly tall person and now when I push the visors back up they continue to fall back down in front of my face. I think this is a factory issue that needs to be fixed at their expense.
