1 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem

Failure Date: 01/19/2018

Over the last month or so, my car has been losing power while driving. It started happening randomly on the highway and I decided to take into dealership to disables the issue. After a diagnostic test, it was determined to be the pcm. After replacing the pcm, I now have been experiencing this loss of power even while driving on side streets and off highway. I have since been back to this same dealership located in new london CT and have been given another possible cause for this issue and that is the motor. I am extremely frustrated and upset bc not only did I spend 1500 to fix the problem, the problem is not fixed and is actually worse. I have read several forums that indicate a safety recall on my motor however it seems as though my car is outside of the parameters that cover my motor. Please get back to me with any advice or suggestions in going about resolving this safety issue.

2 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem

Failure Date: 07/26/2014

I was driving my wife's car home from work and stopped by a gas station for a drink. I came back to the car and started it up. As I was engaging in gear, I noticed the shift indicator on the instrument panel and the shifter was missing. I put the car back in park, killed the motor and restarted. It reappeared, but briefly. As I put it in drive, I felt a violent jerking motion from the gearbox; then the dreaded check engine light reared its ugly head. I drove to the nearest auto parts store to have a guy pull the code(s) for me. It was a failing pcm (powertrain control module) that was giving me drivetrain issues. In regards to electrical, whenever my wife (or anyone else) ride in the passenger side, the interior lights turn on whenever I make hard left turns. Interesting :-/.

3 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem

Failure Date: 11/04/2010

Purchased brand new on June 18, 2010 for my wife. . . Hyundai Sonata GS. Shortly after purchasing the vehicle, we began experiencing problems with the car jerking/bucking/slipping in all gears at all speeds (random occurrence) even when the vehicle is traveling at a steady speed while using cruise control. The vehicle has been taken to the dealership here in douglasville, GA six times for repair which has included replacement of the transmission, reprogramming of the pcm, and replacement of the tcm. None of these attempts at repair have fixed the issue. My wife is the primary driver of this vehicle and has come extremely close to being involved in crashes as a result of this problem as the car hesitates/stalls for several seconds after these incidents occur. It has happened several times as she has attempted to merge onto the expressway's here in metro atlanta (#2 in the nation for traffic). Please NHTSA. . . There is something seriously wrong with the powertrain in these vehicles and Hyundai needs to figure out what it is and get it fixed!.
