I was pulling into my neighborhood and heard a loud crack, so I pulled over and got out of the car and saw that my driver's side rear tire was slanting inward (see pictures). I had to have my car towed to the dealership. The tow truck driver looked under the car and said that the control arm was cracked and that there was rust/corrosion around that area on the subframe. Now it's at the dealership to be repaired. . . A very costly repair (rear crosslink/subframe). This is a serious safety issue. If I had been driving on a highway/major road and this happened I could have been seriously injured. Luckily it happened in my neighborhood! there should be a recall on this type of issue, especially since there's been a recall before on the rust/suspension problems Hyundai has had.
I pulled into a parking lot after hearing a loud crack. I got out of the car and saw that my drivers side rear tire was falling off the car. The upper control arm mounting bolt cracked and was broken causing drivers side rear tire coming off of vehicle. This is a serious safety issue. I could have been seriously injured. This should be a recall situation. I have documentation I can fax. . . . It will not download as it is too many pages.
I was backing my vehicle up, which was parked in front of my house, and I noticed what sounded like a cv joint noise from the left front wheel area. The problem has reoccurred several times since but the latest and loudest was after I had the vehicle inspected at the dealership on 03/21/2015. The noise took on an even louder sound that was more of a clunk like a front control arm. Therefore, I contacted Hyundai USA for a detailed explanation of TSB 10055854 but they will not go into any specifics about what the component(s) are in this campaign. I feel that this is an intentional cover up so that the NHTSA will not investigate and require a safety recall. VIN 5npec4acxch489687.
