The front driver side coil spring broke at the base. Was driving my car and heard what sounded like something hitting the underside of my car. Upon inspection we found the coil spring had broken. In researching online there was is a campaign recall for 2010-2011 Hyundai Sonata (#133). My vehicle does not fall in this category, but feel it should. Coil springs just don't break, unless you are going off road. There are many forums with similar incidents.
1#. Air . #2 not inspección 1year ago. #3 air bag lihg warning was the first day a buy tne car. Never im put interés now im know is bad in damgere.
So many issues my cars had. . . 1 owner and several issues sadly could only pick 3: seat belt won't click on driver side sometimes it gets stuck, had the steering buttons fixed due to getting stuck, front passenger wheel has been checked several times due to the wheel vibrating when you hit a bump, hybrid battery went bad before 50,000, reading all the engine issues around 160, I'm thinking I need to back away from Hyundai forever!!! most recent hybrid warning do not drive & after researching there's been several issues with this, I'm thinking we could start a small class action suit against Hyundai!!!! car shut down and wouldn't go anywhere.
My vehicle was well kept. It had two accidents which were not my fault but didn't involve the suspension. This week the coil spring snapped on one side and is going to break on the other according to the repair shop they say it's due to struts being under stress. The local Hyundai dealership thought there is a recall on this? the car has had all of its routine service and recalls repaired. Is there any thing I can do?.
I was driving down the highway going about 60 mph and all the sudden it's like the car shuts off, slowing to about 45. As I push on gas it does nothing then about 3 seconds later jerks back up and then repeats. It does this now everytime I am traveling. Besides giving me whiplash, it is dangerous because it could definitely cause a crash. My brake lights have been replaced 5 times in two years. Also there is always a loud clicking noise when driving. It sounds awful.
I had taken my car in December 2018 and I was informed to check my steering for the coupling, but that we would. It fall under the warranty. Jan 31. 2019 while driving on freeway my car started to shake and then it staled. I took to a mechanic. Who called me and stated that my steering coupling was shaved down and cause my steering not to work which also caused damage to my tie rods. He told me this was a recall for campaign 132 but I informed him that in 2016 actual part. I also went back and looked to see if I had the coupling part on my receipts and there is nothing on it.
Move slow and turn makes clicking load nosie.
Steering wheel shakes violently when a small bump is hit. Loud rattle. Steering wheel knocks with a slight turn both ways. Progressively getting worse day to day. This happens on all roads.
The front-end will wobble at certain speeds, around 25 & 45 mph. It has been to the dealer 3 times now. First, they fixed the alignment. Next, they said they couldn't detect anything wrong. Thirdly, I drove with the service manager, and he immediately detected a problem. He had the front 2 tires replaced, with alleviated the problem for a time, but within a couple weeks, the wobble could be felt easily again, at the same speeds as before.
I commute to work from PA to NJ and as soon as I got off the high way 280e to root 21 I came to a stop light, when it turned green, I made a left turn into market street, just when proceeded onward within a block away from the last stop light I heard a loud noise that came from underneath the left rear wheel; then suddenly, ii spun out of control careening towards double yellow lane fishtailing as the rear end kept trying to swing around me I fought it by counter steering away from the up coming traffic and to a forced stop facing the curve. I feared for my life and I thought I was going to die this morning. Mind you, I bought this car because of the high safety rating advertised on tv. The car is being repair by hudson Hyundai in 977 communipaw Ave jersey city, NJ. I don't like this car any more!.
The contact owns a 2012 Hyundai Sonata. While driving approximately 5 mph, the contact heard a clicking sound coming from the steering column. The vehicle was repaired according to NHTSA campaign number: 14v434000 (transmission), but the failure recurred. My car caught fire while being towed by my motorhome in south miami, FL on route to key west, FL. A south miami, FL Hyundai dealer repaired my car but did not replace all the parts paid for by my auto insurance company. The repair shop did not keep the burned parts as requested by me and my insurance company representative. Later, another Hyundai dealer completed the repairs as authorized by Hyundai USA after numerous communications with me, but the Hyundai dealer would not provide me with the burned parts as requested. Hyundai did not report that a fire had caused the damage. Not sure if Hyundai USA or its dealers have requirements to report fires in their vehicles. I have names of contacts with Hyundai USA in CA. I have the burned tpms sensor not replaced by Hyundai, but paid for at my expense to a tire store in my home town. I have pictures of my car on fire; pictures of the burned parts on car in possession of my insurance company representative; I have receipts from the south miami Hyundai repairs, and I have receipts from the other Hyundai dealer for parts needing replacement but not replaced by the south miami Hyundai dealer but paid for by my auto insurance company. I also have a receipt for replacement of the burned tpms sensor by a tire store in my home town. I filed a complaint against the south miami Hyundai dealer with the local government agency responsible for licensing auto repair shops in that county.

I purchased the car in Jan 2013 with 40k miles on the vehicle. The car would make a clicking noise when making hard turns. The problem has just escalated over time. I understand this is an axel problem. My car is a 2012 and should not have an axel problem at 40,000 miles.

2012 Sonata will not drive straight, it pulls to the left mostly but also to the right. Basically the car swerves all over the road, especially at higher speeds. I took it back to the dealership and they told me all foreign cars drive like this. They adjusted the tire pressure but that did not solve the problem. I do not feel safe driving the car. Hyundai issued a service campaign to fix the 2011 Sonatas for this exact problem, why can't they just do the same for the 2012s?.
- main symptom. : unstable driving condition. 1. Steering won't be perfectely centered after making turn ( both left and right) as much as 1/2 inches at any speed. 2. Easely wandered even after manually centered. It has a driver make adjustments constantly. Simply, my car doesn't go straight. In order to keep track, I need to keep making steering adjustments at any speed. I feel like unstable, wandering on highway. I visited dealer, issued case to Hyundai customer center. But dealer said there is no solution (they did their best) , customer ctr. Said there is no safety issue. (not sure but seems like they noticed) since my 20 more yrs driving. This is the most ridiculous experience. Whatever they said, this is definitely safety issue. Please check it out.
2012 Hyundai Sonata. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle drifting while driving.
I am the owner of a 2012 Sonata limited turbo. I have been extremely loyal to the Hyundai Sonata brand, this being my fourth Sonata. I purchased 2 of them used (both 2006's) and the other two brand new (2009 & 2012). Until this most recent new vehicle, I have not had a single problem with any of the three others. They are pretty amazing cars, if you ask me. They are a world away from Hyundai?s first imports of the excel in 1986. VIN number is[xxx]. Having driven the car a short time, it seemed to me that the car wandered excessively and always felt on the parkway that you were driving on the crest of the road. At 65 mph and above, my impression is that this car is all over the road. I wrote to Hyundai on February 15th, 2012 when the car had 475 miles on it. I was given case number [xxx]. L thought it was alignment problem because of the wandering condition. When picking it up, I asked about what the problem was. They said that it was there was an air pressure problem. No alignment was done. On a winding road, it is all over the road. I wrote again to Hyundai on July 19st. I was given case number [xxx]. They said that they would be contacting the service manager. I have yet to hear back from Hyundai. I'd like a factory rep or zone manager to drive this car and then examine it to determine what needs to be done to this car to either fix it, or replace it. I?d also like to drive an identical 2012 turbo to see if it is perhaps, just my car that is problematic. This car was brought in three different times to two different dealerships. Both say there is nothing wrong with the car, however, independant shops and other people driving this car cornfirm that there is a problem. This car is unsafe to drive on the highways. If you were to lose concentration for even a moment, you would be involved in an accident.
The contact owns a 2012 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that the steering wheel would move from left to right abnormally when driving at any speed. The steering became hard to control and caused the vehicle to swerve out of the lane in which the contact was traveling. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times for the failure. The dealer performed an alignment twice but failure was not corrected. The steering continued to pull from side to side. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact that the vehicle was safe to drive. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 250 and the current mileage was 2,000. Updated 03/21/12 the consumer stated the steering wheel does not move if she holds it straight. However, the vehicle does go to the left and right on its own. While driving, the consumer stated constant corrections are needed to keep the vehicle in right direction. Updated 03/23/12.
1) the vehicle is purchased on 10/15/2012 at mileage 45. After driving 10 miles felt vomiting sensation and head ache due to vehicle constant vibration. My wife in the passenger seat also felt the same. I have my friends drive the car and they felt the same. 2) reported the problem to the dealer through text message on 10/16/2012 (Sunday) via text message as the dealer ship closed on Sunday 3) taken to the dealership on 10/17/2012 morning to check up. On first attempt dealer says there is wheel balancing problem, so performed wheel balancing and tire rotation and returned the vehicle to me saying it fixes it 4) with in 10 miles of driving , found same issue (head ache and vomiting sensation) due to vibration . 5) taken to the delaership on 10/21/2012, on second attempt, deler says he needs to replace axle. 6) how can a brand new vehicle is not inspected for axle problem and sold to customer? also how can dealer ship failed to find the axle problem on first attempt?.
At highway speeds I noticed a slight drift, car seems to be teetering on center and require lots of corrections to go straight. Feels ok at lower speeds.
My car is one year old. I had perform recall campaign 928 on 7/23/22 and today the mechanic told me that my two front tires are wearing out. How am I going to claim for the damage and get fix with the alignments?.
