My Hyundai has a loose steering wheel with an air bag light on it. So when you drive the steering is weak. I received a notice that their was a problem with the steering in recall, but now its not found. Why? my air bag I believe is not going to work because the light is on for air bag.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? airbag clock spring how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? airbag system is not functioning while if airbag clock spring is defective has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? the problem has been identified by Hyundai within other Sonata models but not my Sonata has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? the vehicle has been inspected by an independent mechanic were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? the airbag light is on which disables the entire function of the airbag system.
My airbag light came for no reason, they checked the error codes for airbag they got codes b1388 and b1481 airbag resistance too high and seat track position sensor which they stated is an issue with the clockspring. When I research this issue I found this recall TSB its the exact same issue for 2011-2013 Hyundai Sonata but for some reason my car or VIN number says I am not included or covered, I believe this should be covered under this as the dealer as there is a unlimited mileage warranty extension and the dealer is quoting me $400+ to replace it and this is a safety issue.
My air bag light is on.
The airbag light started coming on and off for a while until the light stayed on all the time. So, if I was to get in a car accident the airbags wouldnt work due to the sensor not working properly. Hyundai wouldn't fix it because its not a recall, yet it is a safety concern since it involves airbags. I am sure I am not the only one with this problem.
First- airbag light comes on randomly driving, in park or reverse. Second my interior light is in door mode does not go off as it should this is random as well sometimes it will go off other times it does not. I have to keep it in off mode - not fun at night leaving in dark for work or loading unloading babies. It has to stay in off mode so battery doesn't die. Third- cruise control once again random sometimes I can get it to set other times I cannot some times I can pull over park turn off and attempt again and it still doesn't work. Fourth- car wouldn't start , not battery related some interior lights worked some didn't radio didn't clock did all dash lights worked trunk would not open via inside button or ke button, gas tank would open with button. The door open alarm would ding. Fifth- odd sounds best described as grinding brakes fan belt movement that's broke and this is louder and louder then stops also has odd smell at the times of occurrence -dealership claims nothing is wrong obviously something is. These have been different occurances sometimes more than once at the same time. Some occurring for a couple of months now.

Lee Hyundai in fayetteville, north carolina was made aware of the failure and requested that the contact bring the vehicle in to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. My car has under 50000 miles, withen 6 days, my air bag light came on, all three lights of my front passenger side lights went out, and my air conditioning doesn't work. I do not feel safe driving this car and the fact that they all went out in such a short span makes me feel like there are major electrical issues. I know there have been several recalls on this vehicle and am not sure if these are covered but just can't believe it's a coincidence.
