1 Carrier/rack problem

Failure Date: 06/03/2020

The paint is peeling on the hood of the car. On the dash there are 2 cracks one on either side of the airbag enclosure. The steering wheel has the rubber peeling off. The paint on the top of the roof panel is cracked/ready to peel off. The car was in my driveway. I had to replace the transmission sensor with harness 6/03/2030 I only had 42171 miles at the cost of $751. 47 . My warranty is for 10 years and 100,000 miles but they said it wasn't covered. I was driving when the check engine light came on and I made the appointment immediately and brought it in 6/03/2020 to the Hyundai dealership.

2 Carrier/rack problem

Failure Date: 09/18/2019

The dashboard on the passenger side has developed two large cracks. It appears to be over the airbag. My concern is that it may damage the underlying airbag since it is now exposed to the "elements" , sunlight, cleaning solutions etc.

3 Carrier/rack problem

Failure Date: 09/04/2019

The top of the dashboard cracked about 18 inches. Our Hyundai service rep said it was caused by the airbags under the dashboard expanding from the heat. Hyundai should replace the dashboard, obviously made of faulty material. Our rep said it would cost us $1,000. 00. I'm afraid that airbags will crack it completely in half and then the car would not be drivable.

4 Carrier/rack problem

Failure Date: 04/30/2019

Sun shade failure on panoramic roof. I was driving and decided to open the sunroof, I heard a loud popping noise. The shade came off track and would not roll up. Sunroof opened up like normal, I immediately pulled not very safe with the excess hanging material blocking visibility. $900+ repair at the dealer.

5 Carrier/rack problem

Failure Date: 08/08/2014

On August 8, 2014 at approximately 5:00pm, my vehicle was parked on a flat gravel driveway. Front tires were still turned right from initial parking of car. I got in the car and started it when I realized I had left something in the house and exited the car while it was running and in park. Within 2 minutes, while I was exiting the house, I heard a ¿thud and saw the car backed up against a pine tree on the property. The car had traveled in a ¿u pattern approximately 100¿ before hitting the tree. Entering the car to turn it off, I see that that shifter is in park; I turned off the car so that I could assess the damage of the car and see if I could drive it from where it had stopped. I started the car; drove forward about 20¿, turned off the car and looked at the damage to the rear quarter panel of the car. The left muffler is pushed in, the bumper cracked, the tail light (still operational) cracked. Rear quarter panel seems to have buckled, I am unable to determine any damage to the under-carriage. The trunk still opens and closes without problem, but there is substantial damage to the rear driver¿s side of the car. The car is driveable; but am fearful the car is a danger to me, my family and anyone who could be near the car. A call was placed to Hyundai and a complaint filed (1-800-633-5151). I have learned that there is a recall notice for Hyundai Sonatas regarding shift cables disengaging and I am awaiting the paperwork packet from Hyundai to complete my complaint in writing so that I can see if this make/model is part of the recall.
