"check charging system" warning message came on while driving on the highway at night 01/08/2021. Suddenly no power to the engine. The gas pedal wasn't working. Quickly I pull into the hard shoulder. The car failed to start the engine with the same error message. The car lost power shortly after. (the hazard light wasn't working. I contacted 911 for emergency assistance. Penndot truck shows up after an hour to cover the road. ( to prevent collisions. ) I towed the car to a nearby dealer. Contacted by the dealer 3 days later. They said it was12v a battery issue and it's fixed. I went back to the dealer the next day to pick up the car. I paid $388 for replacing the battery. The car won't start with the same error message. I ran into the dealer asked for an explanation. The worse thing is the dealer never ran the diagnostic test for code or anything and assumed it's fixed. I demanded a refund. I made a few calls to check the status of service since then. No one has returned my call yet.
Every three to five days when push to start vehicle it will not turn on. All lights/electronics come on but the vehicle just will not start. When towed to the dealer or tow driver arrives the car starts again. Have had the battery tested and tested bad, replaced but the problem continues. Hyundai says "cannot duplicate the problem" and sends me on my way with no resolution. Now dealer as well as Hyundai regional office refuse to answer the phone or return any of my messages. Has happened at least if not more than 15 times.
On three occasions my car would not start. After the second time it failed, I brought it in. Hyundai service department could not find anything wrong with it after hooking it up to the machine. No codes showed on the system check. They said they checked the battery. They said it could be the brake sensor, which was changed from a recall, so they said I have a new one, they would just adjust it and hopefully would fix the problem. Three days later on a Saturday morning, the car would not start again. I brought it back in. They kept my car from 06/20 - 06/30 and could not find or reproduce the same problem.
