Driving in a school area under 25 miles heard a rattle noise coming for car pooled over and called for a tow truck and shut off my car next thing I know I blew and engine I keep maintenance and all up to date recall on my vehicle. I don't understand why this happen.
Used car with 86,000 miles on it. On the 90th after buying car from used car dealership, a rattling noise became apparent. When I took the car to a mechanic, it was determined the engine was blown. They said that it was seized and if I had been on the freeway, it could've been catastrophic. After some research, I found a proposal for the settlement of a class action lawsuit including many Hyundai and kia cars. The settlement included all Hyundai Sonata vehicles years 2011-2018 and some 2019 vehicles. My car is clearly one of the cars affected. I am seeking help from the NHTSA so that Hyundai can take responsibility for their careless mistakes that have already resulted in many accidents and car fires. A Hyundai dealership will be looking at my car on January, 6th 2020. I'm anticipating them trying to brush this under the rug and blaming the issues on me despite having the car for only 90 days after purchase along with the abundant knowledge of Hyundai and kia knowingly using faulty engines. I need your help to ensure they fix their mistakes at no cost to me and other owners. These mistakes need to be resolved swiftly so that no more consumers suffer unnecessary harm and financial burden for the mistakes Hyundai and kia knowingly made.
Engine is making weird rattling sound on acceleration and burning oil too much. Prior to 3000 miles oil change, checked dip stick and indicated no oil. Low oil on dashboard did not came on. Believed that the engine consumption is out of limit. Rough idle and acceleration hesitation was notice.
Vehicle fails to accelerate or acts as if it is going to shut off and just recently I got in vehicle started it and the check engine light came on. Vehicle shut off while starting it finally it started up I took it to auto zone to read the code. They advised me the code p200a is very common among Hyundai and it most like is the vcma that needs replacement. After doing further research there are many complaints about the vcma failing and having to be replaced. My warranty is up on my vehicle and I feel this is something that Hyundai needs to address as soon as possible given this is a common issue and could cause harm to driver or others while driving that vehicle. Also when attempting to accelerate and the vehicle fails to do so there is a rattling noise when pressing the gas petal.
My wife helen drives to work 35 miles each way daily, she started hearing a rattling noise that came from the engine area. The noise persisted for a few days and was observed during her commute to work twice. Husband test drove car as well and comfirmed a rattling noise. Sevice technitian comfirmed in writing vehicle has a non repairable engine, metal extracts were found inside the oil pan and the dealership advised engine is no good and needs to be replaced.
