I have a push button ignition. Three times this past week, my car has failed to start. When I press the button, all of the lights come on, but the engine does not turn over and when trying to press the break in conjunction with pressing the push start engine button, the break pedal is stiff and does not press downward. The third time this occurred, I was stranded for 1. 5 hours. My brother came to give me a "jump" as he thought it was my battery only for sparks to come from my battery and for his cables to get so hot that they melted. I had my car owed to allen samuel's Hyundai in north richland hills, TX the next morning only to be told that because they are unable to "recreate" the issue, there is nothing they can do. I also reached out to Hyundai and was told that since there are no recalls, there is nothing they can do. This is a safety issue and because they are unable to recreate or do not have any recalls, then I am stuck with a lemon car. The second issue I have been facing (which has been ongoing) is the sensor in my gas tank recognizes my tank as "full" when I fill up with gas but this is not indicated on the gas hand readout. Again, this was brought to Hyundai's attention and because they can't "see it", "recreate it" and there are no "recalls", then there is nothing that they can do. Again, this is another safety hazard as I may think I have a certain amount of gas in my car when in reality I do not. The first issue occurs when the car is stationary. The first time I was at home, the second time I was at work and the last time (most recent) I was at a restaurant. I believe the cause of both issues are sensors with the break that connects it to the push button and a sensor in the tank that connects it to the gas hand. The gas hand issues occurs each time I put gas in my car.

In the beginning of may, 2016 at 105k, I started the car and I made it down the street and the car stalled in front of a stop sign. The engine, oil, battery, and esc lights came on. I turned off the car and tried to turned it back on and it wouldn't start. I got the car towed to the dealership and they said it was going to cost $1000 to replace the fuel pump so I took to another mechanic and he replaced it with an aftermarket fuel pump for $375. Got it back and it ran great. 2 weeks later, on my way to work I had a full tank and I drove about 10 miles and my full tank went to a half tank and it was saying I had 289 miles left then said I had 270 and then went to 290 miles left in less than a minute. I got off of work and the car started, but stalled in the middle of pulling out of the parking spot. I got it towed back to the mechanic and he said there was something loose on the fuel pump. A week later, it broke down in the middle of a car wash. I had to get it pulled out and towed again. The mechanic replaced the fuel pump again. A week and half later, the fuel indicator kept going up and down and then said I had no more gas when I knew I had quarter of a tank so I brought it home and filled it up at a local gas station. It ran well after the fill up. Didn't drive it for a week because I went on vacation. The day after I came back I went to the grocery store and it drove fine, but after it sat in the parking lot for 15 minutes, it wouldn't start. I let it sit for 6 hours and came back later that night to try again. It took 4 tries for the car to start and was able to drive it home, paranoid thinking that it was going to break down again. It has been sitting in my driveway for the past 2 weeks.

Since leasing the vechicle on August 1 I constantly complained about the gas mileage which hyandai indicated would be resolved on the following oil change. The oil change bearly effected the mileage efficiency which leads to the second issue when the gas guage shows below a quarter on the tank the cruise control does not work and is also affected in high mountain areas. When I explained these issues to hyandai they said they never heard of it and would sent to the company for further review in the meantime I have a car with the gas guage that does not show exact amounts from fill up to empty makes this car a safety risk that is totally unacceptable not to mention the car is running horrible which suggest other safety features are not working accurately. The dealers look over only suggested other underlying issues exist with this vehicle and is a clear safety hazard.
