After I exited the freeway while traveling to my mothers on thanksgiving day I was stopped at a light to turn left onto a street and when I tried to go the car would not move I had to push the gas peddle all the way down and when it finally went it jumped/jerked really bad which almost caused me to hit the car in front of me and after that it was going really slow. 2 days prior the car was lagging while slowing down to break seemed like the system wasn't reading that I want to slow down and stop which again almost caused me to have an accident. This car is a safety hazard and I only have 61,000 miles and I only had the car for 9 months. I was told it was the transmission and the car is still in the shop trying to figure out what is wrong.

I started to have engine problems around November 2017. I took the car to the dealership and I was never told that it was a recall on the engine. They just dismissed me only telling me the warranty was out. My car was 3 payments away from being pay off and the dealer wanted $11,000 (eleven thousand) to fix it. I have to ended up buying a new one since I couldn't come up with that kind of money. Is there anything that I can do now, after 6-7 months after the purchase of the new car? I felt the dealer and the company was very tricky. . . . . . When I noticed something was wrong with the car I was driving on a street, had to stop and call a tow truck. It was a big noise like something was inside the engine. Thank you.

22 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 06/23/2017

Vehicle has already had the transmission changed out under 30k miles and hybrid battery changed under 60k miles. I keep getting a hybrid system failure notice on the dashboard. One time it happened when the transmission failed on the 5fwy in burbank while driving to san francisco. Another time it happened on a toll road in irvine, CA where I had to get towed to the dealership. The warning is alarming and tells you not to drive. After the recent hybrid battery replacement I'm getting the hybrid system failure warning again after I drive it for a little bit and put it in park. I've been going to the tustin Hyundai dealership in tustin, CA and the issue seems different everytime, but I'll never recommend a Hyundai to anyone else given the number of forums and posts regarding the 2012-2016 hybrid sonatas engine issues.

I have always kept up on the maintenance with this car but when I had it towed to the dealership they are saying that it was my fault. Around 20mph the car will not accelerate then it jerks forward. I almosy got hit on the highway because it wont accelerate. Several weeks ago the stop safely do not drive hybrid warning came on and thr car wouldnt go. Had ot towed. They found code p0717. They replaced input output speed sensors but the problem continues still. It also jerks when it changes from hybrid to gas. This car is dangerous. They cannot seem to find the problem. Mileage 51000-55000.

26 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

27 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 12/12/2012

While slowly moving downhill, on the freeway, during rush hour traffic, I attempted to change lanes and accelerated quickly. The switch from hybrid to gas engine interface only caused the engine to rev (increase rpm) without any gear being engaged. I quickly let off the peddle and depressed it again. It then engaged the transmission, narrowly averting an accident. This has happened 5-6 times since purchasing this car when traveling slowly and then trying to get a burst from the gas engine. I spoke with the dealership, and took it in for a check per their recommendation. They found nothing and could not reproduce it, although they did not try the same circumstance. They only attempted to stop and accelerate at which I said they wouldn't get it to happen that way.
