The contact owns a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle abnormally accelerated. The contact applied the brakes to stop the unintended acceleration but to no avail. The contact was able to stop the vehicle by utilizing the emergency brake. The contact shut off the vehicle and when restarting, the contact drove the vehicle 10 mph until she reached her residence yet the vehicle would abnormally jerk during her travel. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer where she was informed that the motor mount was installed backward and several bolts were missing. The vehicle was repaired and the failure did not recur. The failure and current mileage was 84,000.

The consumer applied the brakes and pedal went to the floor. The vehicle suddenly accelerated uncontrollably. The consumer was able to control the vehicle, and drove it to the dealer for inspection. However the mechanic could not duplicate the problem. The consumer informed the mechanic that this problem occurred more than once and had not been resolved. This problem would occur when the consumer was entering a parking space, making a left turn at a low speed, and when the consumer's foot was on the brake.
