My 2012 Tucson started dumping large amounts of oil. Would be ok not dumping then would start drastically using then stop again. Vehicle ran fine then it started doing this maybe 3 months into this approx a week ago it started making noises coming from the motor. It is doing as I was told the motors hyunda has recalled already done yet it is not listed in that recall. From what I understand it is a fire hazard as well as a road safety hazard due to it possible stalling. I have has 2 mechanics tell me it's pertains to the recalled motors. To see if it's a issue I'm expected to pay the dealership to evaluate this issue which is unfair to me you can clearly hear and see the issue is there. Why is it I am having to miss work, delay bills, be without transportation for them to acknowledge this concern. Please tell me there is a alternate solution help anything?!.
Front passenger door extremely hard to open and front driver exterior handle wont open door.
Door latches do not open from the exterior, could possibly cause a safety hazard.
My 2012 Hyundai Tucson driver dash with the speedometer goes blank and I lose acceleration while driving and also the gears dissappear and I'm not able to reverse. Yesterday the engine light turned on when I was driving but after I parked and turned car off and waited 10 minutes it was still on,but another 5 min after I turned it off and on again it turned off. Looked on other forums alot of Hyundai cars are having this problem.
While driving my vehicle I accidentally knocked it out of gear and into neutral when I did the car died I was able to pull off of the interstate onto the shoulder where it was scary there were cars passing me at 70 mph, with very little room the car will not start the engine will crank a half of a crank and then freeze up. It had to be towed home where it remains broken down. I don't know if it's the engine I don't know if it's electrical but it will not start the battery is fine the alternator is fine I reported it to Hyundai's consumer hotline and was told to take it to a dealer and have it looked at but the car is not drivable I cannot afford another tow bill to have it taken to a Hyundai mechanic.
At 139k miles, my wife was on her way to work when she stated she heard a knocking coming from the engine. On her way home the engine stalled out 3 times where she had to pull over and shut it off completely for a minute. By the time she made it home the vehicle was making a really bad knocking/ticking sound with the oil warning light flashing. I have not heard back from the dealership where it was towed to, but this is the same sort of rod bearing problem that plagued other vehicles from Hyundai in that 2012 range.
Driver side front and rear doors will not lock or unlock while using the switch that locks and unlocks the doors from the inside of the car. The remote will lock and unlock all of the doors.
On 5/13/21 I took my vehicle to preston Hyundai to complete 2 recall campaigns. Campaign 958 20-01-012h and campaign 181 #19-01-012h. Part of the instructions for campaign 181 (attached), states they must "loosen the intake manifold stay bolts and remove the intake manifold stay. After the recalls were done, preston checked my vehicle and there were no active . Also, my vehicle was working fine prior to the recalls that were done. Less than 2 weeks after Hyundai completed the engine oil recall campaign, my engine light came on. I took it back to Hyundai on 6/1/21 and they said the intake manifold was broken and needed replaced. I told them if was fine when I brought it in for the recall and they worked on it during the recall and therefore, needed to replace it. They refused. Hyundai said it would be $1149. 76 to replace intake manifold and Ford said only the intake manifold runner needs replaced and it would be $360. 43 before tax to replace it. I am requesting that my intake manifold be replaced by preston Hyundai or that they pay the $360. 43 plus tax for fairway Ford to replace the intake manifold runner.
Yesterday around 9:00 pm I was driving on hwy 150 in san antonio TX with my kids and all the lights came on on the dash board or cluster and the engine die on me and wouldn't start I took it to a dealer after paying 220. 00 for towing , now its at red mccombs Hyundai ruben rodriguez service advisor said he will give me and answer.
On November 23, 2018, on rt 110 in farmingdale, NY. I heard something shatter but could still drive on the highway. I stopped and looked underneath but saw nothing. I drove away for twenty minutes and the engine fell out. I was stopped suddenly by the collapse of the engine.
Complete engine failure after banging sound just as in other models being recalled by Hyundai.
The horn on the 2012 Hyundai Tucson is significantly under-powered to the point of being dangerously ineffective in an emergency situation. While it technically works, the sound produced by the horn is too weak relative to typical noise levels in modern urban areas and while driving at freeway speeds. The horn, for practical purposes, is inaudible while driving at freeway speeds where the noise of the passing wind and the distance between cars necessitates that the horn's volume exceed a certain minimum threshold to be heard by other drivers. The horn is so weak that even at a stop light the driver of a car directly in front of me couldn't hear the horn. When the stop light turned green the driver in front of me didn't notice it. Even after blowing my horn 2 - 3 times, the driver was still unaware of the light change. It wasn't until the driver behind me blew his horn that the driver in front of me became aware of the light change. The primary purpose of a horn is to warn other nearby drivers in the event of an impending emergency. On more than one occasion, the 2012 Hyundai Tucson's horn failed to fulfill its purpose. Fortunately, no serious accident has resulted up to this point. Hopefully, this doesn't have to be a case in which someone suffers an accident before the issue is fixed.
My back camera stops working from time to time screen just black when in rear just useless.
I bought a new car. 3 1/2 months later , I was rear-ended. I took car to dealership to get tailgate and pan and bumber repaired. When we picked up vehicle, stong toxic fumes from repair were so strong that we could not drive car. Instant headache, upper respritory aggravation, sore throat, burning eyes. Car has been to repair shop numerous times and months later still causes illness in family. At one time that I drove car I almost lost conciousness. I have informed Hyundai dealership several times. I informed Hyundai corporation. Problem persists consistently for 8-9 months and after numerous trips to dealership. The dog foams and vomits before car starts moving.
