I received a email about a recall my vehicle has I made an appointment with the Hyundai dealership which sent the email. Hyundai wesley chapel in tampa FL and I took it in on 6/16/2025 at 10am and waited an hour. The service advisor came to me and advised me that my vehicle was purchased in puerto rico and cannot be serviced because they don’t have the parts. This is unacceptable and don’t understand why they went through the trouble of sending me an email regarding this recall to waste my day at the dealership.

4 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2024

Three weeks ago my dash board lit up like an orange christmas tree, with "abs failure" warnings. I found the Hyundai recall notice in our car file. It said that when the dash warnings appeared, the danger of an engine fire was imminent and that should contact the dealer that I bought the car from (Hyundai motors- naples, florida-USA). I did so. Personally. An appt. Was scheduled. This morning (fri. 11/15/24)upon arrival, a pleasant young woman informed me that Hyundai sent out lots of notices like this, but they didn't apply to my vehicle. I showed her the recall notice with my car's VIN number printed on it. She went back to her boss who told her "we fixed that for him three years ago," now, I am not certain of anything, but I never brought the car in for an abs system fix three years ago. I didn't know that I even had an "abs" system until three weeks back, when the dash board lit up. Politely, I asked the young woman to bring my car back out, as we were done. She offered to make another appointment to "look" at the dash indicators. " I said" no, we are done. " so, now what do I do? is the car safe to drive or not? I own and operate an older Hyundai santa fe as well. I would be appreciative of your advice. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. The Tucson is a good car. I just don't want it to blow up on me. [xxx] , florida-USA information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

5 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2024

Internal engine failure; no compression cylinder. My vehicle was affected by the Tucson dual clutch transmission reprogramming recall. In higher ambient temperatures and specific operating conditions, the transmission clutch application logic can result in a delayed engagement when accelerating from a stop, and the vehicle would not accelerate. Inability to move the vehicle in traffic. The car is well maintained and in excellent shape. They estimated the cost to replace the engine at $14,000! and Hyundai dealer larry miller denied any help with the repair cost.

6 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 07/31/2023

Driving vehicle home from work a 7 mile commute driver front rotor and passenger rear rotors caught fire. Called fire department to ensure preventive measure of entire car catching fire. It appears both corners have fused pads to rotors creating high friction. No check engine lights or abs light notifications on dash to warn of issue. Brakes and rotors replaced approximately 2 years ago and 25k miles with zero issues. Brake master reservoir is only low about 1 ounce of fluid with no signs of fluid leak on floorboard or firewall of vehicle. Abs module appears to have no fluid residue or leaks either. Have not checked fuses as of yet for failure.

8 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 10/05/2022

I had multiple occasions where the car would blink lates and make screaming noises when acceleration. The vehicle never had a smooth process of stopping and going. When stopped at a light, you could press the acceleration and it idle or not speed up than rev the rmps and start to catch speed. It was very unsafe, I tried several attempts years ago at getting the vehicle maintenanced but only got rotors repaired from shaking and two other shops stating it was a recall and they could not service or fix the vehicle.

9 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 08/16/2022

2 separate issues - oil is being consumed at alarming rate- not burning off and not leaking just disappearing at a rate of a quart every 200 miles -brake pedal is vibrating and clicking up while breaking, then goes straight to floor causing driver to release brake and then repress while stopping.

10 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 06/09/2022

I have made multiple complaints to jenkins Hyundai of leesburg about my car hesitating and not going like it should and almost causing multiple accidents because it wouldn’t go when it should. However, they stated nothing was out of the ordinary and to just drive it in sport mode. Well I’m December of 2020, the turbo went out while driving home. They then wouldn’t fix it until I had a friend state that her dad worked at a diff location and that it was covered under warranty. They told me they had to do an investigation to see if it was covered under warranty or not. They kept my car for a few weeks before I got a phone call on new year’s eve stating my car was ready for pick up. Meanwhile, there was an active recall with the brakes from September of 2020, that they in fact did not fix while having my vehicle there. Fast forward to June 9, 2022, and my turbo went out again and there is water mixed with the oil in my car. I have made multiple reports along with others on the transmission issues and now making a report on the turbo. These vehicles are not safe, I don’t understand why they have not been recalled for these issues.

14 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2021

Oil consume really fast, or oil burn really quick (it supposed to works 5000 miles after oil change, but its burn about 1500-2000 miles). Because of that problem engine get heat really quick and their is maximum possibility for fire (due to heat), fire may cause lack of engine oil. Power (pick up) of car is really low, it is really slow when stop and go on the road, either freeway or on the street way. If a car could not pick up or drive forward as normal standard their is great possibility for accident, in freeway more possible and street way as well. I made web based research about these problems, most of the 2016 Hyundai Tucson facing this problem, means this is not my personal problem but there is problem all of Hyundai tuscon of this model. So, Hyundai must solve this problem. Because they know car was defective while they sold us, but defect broke out after long time. There are several 2016 Hyundai Tucson facing typically same problem. This fact proved that car was defective while they sold it to their customers. Most of the time I change oil and do servicing at Hyundai dealer, but they never tell me about this problem. But when I realized it my warranty was expired. I went to inspect my vehicle with Hyundai dealer but they want to charge to cure this problem, but, if their is manufacturing defect they have to take care free of cost. Because while they sale the car they did not revealed this problem it is misrepresentation. Police, insurance representatives or other did not inspected my vehicle. Their were not any warning lamps message or other symptoms of the problem until now, but when we drive we can feel it. Please do the web based short research to confirm my issues, and help us to solve this problem. In addition, they did not notice me about 2020 break recall, I know this form this web site today.

16 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/10/2021

This vehicle is under recall for its antilock braking system. I brought the vehicle to a dealership on 10 April for the repair. They didn't have the necessary parts in stock. When I called back two months later. Still no parts. It's now been more than 5 months. Which I believe to be proof that the dealership is "unable to remedy the defect within a reasonable time. " instead of responding to calls, jim ellis Hyundai of atlanta (5785 peachtree blvd, atlanta, GA 30341) puts me on hold indefinitely. I'd really like to be able to use my garage again.

Received recall letter. Called dealer where purchased and spoke with service department. They said they needed to order the part (for this very important recall where I was advised not to drive the car) and they would call when part arrived. That was on 3/22/2021. They advised it would take 2 weeks. Today is 4/29/2021 and I have not heard from them. I called the service department and was placed on hold. They came back online and asked if I wanted to leave my name and number and someone would call me back. I said "no" because I knew no one would call me back and was placed on hold again. During this time frame I have received repeated mail from Hyundai wanting me to trade in my car for a new one. They again came on the line and said "no one was available to take my call". I hung up. So now I have a vehicle I was advised not to drive and no way to have the recall taken care of.

My husband made called our local Hyundai dealer,we bought are car from them. My husband made an appointment for oil change and to fix the recall on our 2016 Hyundai. . My husband went at his appointment time, after oil change was done, the gentleman who spoke to my husband about not fixing the recall problem he was very rude disrespectful to my husband the guy said to my husband call us in 2 weeks maybe we can fix it then,my husband told the gentleman 2 weeks is along time to wait on such a serious recall concerning the brakes, again very rude the gentleman I'm not calling you,you call us. . Now I'm afraid to drive my own car because what can happen with the brakes. I don't know where another Hyundai dealership is close to me. . I shouldn't have to find another,I shouldn't have to look for another Hyundai and I shouldn't have to wait 2weeks to get the issue fixed. . So I won't drive my car until the issue is fixed. . I shouldn't have to wait 2 weeks or longer. Im disgusted how Hyundai treated my husband with such disrespect. . Something needs to be done on how they treat customers, and brush off how serious the recall is. I will never buy a Hyundai vehicle again. Thank you.
