3 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2025 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 07/16/2025

I purchased a brand-new Hyundai vehicle on [xxx] from dublin Hyundai. Since purchase, the vehicle has exhibited repeated, serious defects that compromised the safety of my [xxx] baby and family. Timeline of events: [xxx] – vehicle purchased new. Safety concerns arose within weeks of ownership. July 16, 2025 – vehicle dropped off for major issues: camera display failures, heads-up display malfunctions, and random security errors. Vehicle remained in service for over two weeks. August 2, 2025 – returned with the check engine light on and a scratch on the deck. August 3–4, 2025 – dropped off again; dealership instructed that the fuel level must remain between 50–70%. August 11, 2025 – dropped off again; a loaner vehicle provided was unsafe — gear shift failure, body control system errors, infotainment failure, and inability to lock the vehicle. This put my baby’s safety at direct risk as the loaner could not be secured or reliably driven. August 19, 2025 – vehicle returned with new scratches and multiple issues still unresolved. Late August 2025–present – vehicle was relocated to san jose without my consent. I only know its location from the Hyundai app, which frequently alerts: “battery level is below normal. Please check that vehicle lights and accessories are switched off to avoid battery drain. ” I have not been provided proper updates from Hyundai or the dealership. Safety risk: repeated mechanical and electronic failures in both the new vehicle and the loaner. Vehicle is unreliable, unpredictable, and unsafe for transporting a young child. Manufacturer and dealer have failed to provide a safe, operable vehicle despite multiple repair attempts. I am filing this complaint because these issues pose a serious safety risk to me, my infant child, and other drivers on the road. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

4 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2016 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 07/07/2025

While driving I noticed my abs, traction control, aeb, and a couple of other lights came on. Upon restarting my car it was still there but the lights went away on their own after a few minutes of driving. They have been periodically turning and and off as I've driven the past couple of days. I went to the local mechanic shop who performed a diagnostic and found it to be a faulty left rear wheel speed sensor. When researching online, I've come across many people with the same make, model, and year as my car that have experienced this issue.

6 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2025 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 05/25/2025

While driving, my entire dash will go black. At times, all warning lights will also light up. There is no way to know how fast I am going since the display shuts down. Heads up display also goes out with warnings as well. With all warning lights coming on, there is no way to know if there is truly an issue with the car. The car was taken to the dealership and the cluster was replaced. This did not fix the problem. The car is now back at a dealership with no answers. I do have a case opened with Hyundai as well. Case # 41048985. I am a part of a facebook group were an additional 19 people have also said they have experienced the same issues. There seems to be no real concern from Hyundai. Failure Date: 08/08/2024

The engine started to lose power and then completely died the engine and oil lights came on the car would restart for about 30 sec but would not move when put into drive it broke down on [xxx] extremely dangerous road road with traffic moving above 55 mph I was broke down in the center lane after I called a tow truck and placed a call to the wsp in fear of getting killed on this road this caused extreme anxiety and loss of wages due to this trauma this is the 3rd time this same vehicle broke down the first time I had it towed to the dealership in bellingham wa where they said it was a cracked spark plug ? and charged $650 to replace still under warranty the 2nd time this vehicle broke down I towed to a certified mechanic it was a burnt valve the repair cost was $4000 and didn't appear to fix the engine knocking noise and was hesitant a short lived band side for a faulty engine that Hyundai did not include this model in class action lawsuit same engine as other recalled motors but they left this car out because they sold so many information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. 16 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2019 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 06/24/2024

The TSB needs to be replaced according to the Hyundai dealership. This is a known problem and would normally be covered under warranty but I am just outside of my warranty window and it just started happening. The entire audio system, touch screen controls, and hands-free controls do not work. The touch screen freezes after a few seconds and freezes on my backup camera creating a major driving distraction. The audio system does not shut of once the vehicle has been turned off creating a problem for the battery which I have to manually disconnect or it will continue to power my touchscreen system even after I leave the vehicle. The lane assist, blind spot indicator, and any beeping warning sounds do not work because of the failing TSB. I cannot change my cars settings or hear any warnings from the car's sensors. I believe this is a major manufacturing flaw and Hyundai will not fix it even though those warning sounds are part of the safety features of the vehicle and are a major player in driver safety. The radio controls do not work - volume included. I cannot adjust any noises in the car and beeping warnings are no longer sounding. I am worried that this problem is also affecting any and all car audio warnings such as the forward collision warning, parking collision warning, and lane departure warning.

17 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2020 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 06/07/2024

I went to thompson automotive to finance a vehicle and within a month and half my engine blew. There were no engine lights, no lost of oil, no warning, no signs of any error, before this series of malfunctions took affect. I was on my way to the dealership and my car being slowing down to a complete stop as I was getting off the highway ramp. I was traveling at the speed of 25mph, when the car started to make loud noises that I never heard before that day, and completely shut down in front of a huge tractor trailer in traffic. The dealership has had my car since 6/7/24. Now the car has about 85,000 miles on it. I have to pay another $3,000 for my portion to get a new engine. Which is outrageous considering I just agreed to pay $19,990. I am highly disappointed that I lost my job and everything behind this horrific situation that actually feels like a set from the beginning. Now that I’m reading all the comments and unfortunate but very similar situation everyone is suffering from with the particular car. I can’t fathom why it’s still on the market to be purchase for consumers with these major and potentially deadly problems.

18 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2024 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 04/23/2024

We bought Tucson 2024 sel from stafford Hyundaijanuary 1, 2024. We were happy new vehicle owner and yourself. Sales told us it will be good for at least few years without any problem after four months and 22 days the vehicle started not running call chantilly service they connected me with the online service and they suggested us to call roadside assistant and jumpstart. While we talk with them jumpstart vehicle rolled down the driveway the door was open bumped by the carport wall. Luckily the vehicle stop didn’t damage anything behind other houses or anything. The door was damaged. We don’t want this vehicle anymore. We want return or replace. It’s a brand new vehicle and it’s a life safety issue and I have a special son. , bad battery after four months and rolled down the driveway, I want to mention the service manager instance of empathy he told us nothing last forever have a bad battery after four months and roll down the vehicle is very normal. He mentioned checked the role down, but alfred from service said only repair happened bad battery and also manager said he did inform Hyundai motor corporation. I spoke with the case manager after I spoke with service manager andand he said he never spoke with safford service and no one return his callsl. He tried to call multiple times. Gap communication, and false information is giving to us and we purchased this vehicle from here we do not want this vehicle we want return or replacement, otherwise someone has to sign a bond and saying this is safe to drive. If cause any trouble with my family or big acident or death safford Hyundai service is reliable for it. Thank you so much. Case created with Hyundai corporation but vehicle in now safford Hyundai body shop. Hyundai corporation denied the case.

19 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2022 Hyundai Tucson

20 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2020 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 06/30/2023

Warning lights for lane keeping, blind spot, abs, autohold, foward collision systems came on and will not reset. Reports of this all over Hyundai forums and owner fan pages (facebook, etc). It can fool the driver into believing the car is about to be in an accident prompting panic response in drivers.

21 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2022 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 04/14/2023

This is the 2-3 time that the sound of my radio and safety features does not work. There is no sound at all! if the sounds of the safety features are not working, I feel extremely unsafe driving this car!!!!.

22 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2022 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 01/17/2023

2022 Hyundai tuscon abruptly locks steering wheel while driving to the point you cannot turn the steering wheel. Many different types of warnings appear on the dash from blind spot warning to front end collision. Luckily, we were going at a moderate speed, I was driving and forced the wheel to turn enough to get off the road. If this happens to a woman while driving, they will most likely not be able to turn the wheel at all with zero control of the vehicle. Extremely dangerous life-threatening situation, and dealer has been notified. The vehicle has to be towed as it's a major safety risk. This has happened 3 times and the dealer has record of the fault codes but do not know what the problem is at this time. Vehicle only has 16,000 miles on it. When this happens, I can turn off the vehicle and let it power down a minute or two and re-start it and all dash lights are gone and the vehicle is fine again. Most certainly a faulty very dangerous electrical system problem in my opinion.

23 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2023 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 12/22/2022

24 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2013 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 04/29/2022

When I back up, you cannot see what is behind you. April 2022 I was leaving my rehab building and got into my car in the parking lot and there was no one behind me. I got into the car and made several phone calls before I backed up. I always honk my horn and back up slowly because there is no clear visual of what is behind me. As I backed up my car was unable to move. I got out of the car and someone had come from the wrong way of the parking lot and parked their car behind my car and left it. About 5 minutes or more later the driver appeared and I asked why did she park her car behind my car with multiple parking spaces in the parking lot. I immediately called the police and took pictures all around the spaces and proof of multiple parking spaces and proof the car came in the wrong way in the parking lot and stopped right behind my car , got out of their car and left it parked behind my car. Again my pictures are very clear that this person was in the wrong. I have asked for no fault with my insurance company and they have denied me. I believe because when I first got the insurance they were forcing me to take a product that I had not agreed to and I reported them to the head of their company. The pictures clearly show I was not at fault yet my insurance has denied my appeal of taking “ no fault” off of my insurance record. I would like to challenge this problem because I am truly not treated fairly because of reporting the insurance company of wrongdoing.

25 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2019 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 02/09/2022

Blind spot warning becomes disabled sporadically? engine needs to be turned off and restarted to reconnect blind spot warning. This has been an ongoing problem for the last few years. It never shows up when brought into dealer for inspection? nor are there any computerized “messages” in the system? the below “additional details” only reflect yesterday’s occurrence. This problem happens on a regular basis. With no regularity?.

26 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2017 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 01/03/2022

At 104k miles, the check engine light came on and car was bucking and rattling while accelerating. Engine is malfunctioning and causing car to not accelerate properly by not going when gas pedal is pressed or rpm’s going higher than normal to just start driving from a stop. This is scary on highways or when stopped and have to make a turn or at a signal. Had a self mechanic run the check engine light which was spark plugs and coils and those are changed. He ran other tests and stated the cylinder compression was effected on the third one and is misfiring. Car is well taken care of and routine maintenance done. No inspection done beside this.

27 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2020 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 11/12/2021

For at least the last 60 days, the blind spot warning camera system will disengage while driving. Took the vehicle to the local dealer, who had the car for 2 days and could not determine the cause. They did discover it will disengage after driving the car for 18 miles. They have called Hyundai for assistance. So far, no information received back from Hyundai on how to correct this issue.

28 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2019 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 10/21/2021

Going up a hill, "check blind-spot collision warning system" alert, clunk sound, rpms revved high, power lost and did not shift gears. 2 occurrences. Approximately 40,000 miles.

29 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2016 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 09/08/2021

I took my 2016 Tucson to the myrtle beach SC dealership for the recall on the abs. First thing that happened they called me in the back and told me that they added oil (which I checked when I got home and was overfilled) and that they put in 2 new air filters. They did all this before asking me. So they tried to get me to pay $72 each for the air filters and $16 for the oil and of course I refused. Within days the check bsd system light and all other lights have come on. When I’m at a stop signs it shuts off. I have started the vehicle one morning to warm the engine up and I go back and thence hole is off with the dashboard lights on. My vehicle has even stop and cut off while in traffic while taking my daughter to school. The rpm and the ac stops working when these lights come on and I can only drive the vehicle at a certain speed. I don’t know if by “fixing” the abs caused this issue or what but my vehicle was driving fine before I went to that dealership. I contacted the dealership asked for a manager and of course one was not available but I was told that they would look at my vehicle for $110. And I still haven’t heard from a manager. So disappointed in Hyundai!!!.

30 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2018 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 04/01/2021

Bought car 04/23/21 blew up 2 weeks later knock censor was not put on buy first dealership so engine blew on interstate car was possible on fire due to as much smoke was coming from vehicle could of been rear ended engine failure due to that no waning of engine failure Tucson knows all these problem and is currently in a class action lawsuit and have known the problem for years dealership had to of known this was going on with this engine but sold the car to unsuspecting consumer I think there was a lot of stuff going on this car was owned by stew hansons then sold to dewy Ford to sale which my understanding is they own both dealerships. My safety and anybody that gets into my vehicle is still have a 50/50 chance of it happening again ! have done alot of homework and watched many utube videos of these vehicle burn to the ground even one death . They are death traps and should not be on the road . Im scared to put my grandchildren in it due to all the info I have obtained.

31 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2016 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 02/01/2021

Three of the four doors have defects which prevent them from opening from the outside or inside, which is a major safety concern. The door lock acuator is what needs to be replaced. The right front door was replaced in 2018. One of the back doors was replaced in 2020, and now the other back door won't open due to the same issue. I often transport children and an elderly grandparent, all of whom sit in the back seat. If I had been in an accident, there would be no way to get them out of the vehicle. On top of the fact that this is clearly a manufacturer defect with the vehicle, I'm now concerned the driver's door will stop working soon, meaning I can't drive the vehicle at all. I contacted Hyundai customer support since the vehicle is 1,000 miles over warranty and they said there is nothing they can do (conversation 4/5/21). Five star Hyundai of macon refused to put in a request to over-ride the warranty to get it fixed, since clearly it is a manufacturer problem with my vehicle. The vehicle hasn't been in any accidents that would have caused this issue and Hyundai is apparently aware of the issue, as it frequently occurs with Tucsons and elantras (per conversation with five star Hyundai), yet refuses to do anything about it. Because my vehicle is now at 61,000 miles they are saying it is no longer their responsibility and are not offering to assist in any way. The blind spot detector is also malfunctioning, not notifying when a vehicle is next to mine and occasionally going off when there is no vehicle at all. Five star macon said this is also not under warranty anymore and said they don't know why it would be a problem but would require them removing my bumper and doing extensive diagnostic work before they'd know how to fix it.

32 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2017 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 01/13/2021

Made appointment to correct recall at the dealership, then 1 week later they said there is currently no remedy to fix the recall. They don't know how long it will take, but will contact me to make a service appointment once they find a remedy. The problem if this recall is not fixed it can cause a fire in the engine. At this time, I was advised to only park outside to prevent a internal combustion in the engine.
