1 Brake Light On problem of the 2018 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 03/09/2021

Warning light on dashboard board goes on and off constantly indicating rear brake light needs attention. When warning light is on, brake light does not work. When warning light turns off, brake light works. This happens when car is on and constantly at random times even when I'm stationary. Also, when I'm stopped, car tugs like it wants to accelerate.

2 Brake Light On problem of the 2017 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 01/01/2021

I purchased 2017 Tucson brand new at roughly 22k my engine seized and the 3rd connecting rod failed. After engine replacement I continued to have problems with rear driver side brake light continuously going out, bulb is not out but wiring scorched and bulb somehow continuously becomes loose. I have replaced front headlights repeatedly with the driver front shattering in housing. I have also replaced calipers and have gone through 7 sets of rotors. At roughly 60000 I noticed I was running out of oil in between every 3000 mile oil change. Continued to bring back to dealer for repair s . I have complained multiple times about hesitation when pulling out from stop and engine knocking. Multiple oil pan reseal gaskets replaced fuel pump replaced, oil always all over engine. At 110k my engine failed a second time with Hyundai denying all claims. Originally said they would reimburse me for rental but when they emailed me letter for goodwill reimbursement it was a release from liability waiver if I took their goodwill . I have informed them of electric issues and how I feel unsafe with new recall and fire possibility and they informed me as long as no warning light is on it should not be an issue. I tried to trade vehicle in and no one would take my trade, it's 3 years old and worth nothing. Hyundai response was vehicles don't hold their value like they used to. I am disgusted with their dismissive customer care, 2 engines in a vehicle 3 years old and they insist there is nothing wrong with their product.

5 Brake Light On problem of the 2015 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 09/08/2020

My vehicle was stationary in my garage when I started to leave for work when the car began to shake, and the engine turned off. I restarted the car, and the check engine light, which was not previously on, now was, and my airbag light indicator was on as well. Since this time, my shifter cable has broken, and the brake light switch has malfunctioned. To try and remedy this, I have purchased and replaced my ignition coils, spark plugs, brake lights, shifter cable, crankshaft position sensor, the master power window switch, and fuse plugs. And this still has not fixed the issues occurring with the vehicle.

8 Brake Light On problem of the 2017 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 08/29/2019

I made a complaint against this same problem but now it is on the opposite side. The brake rear passenger side has burned. The dealership blocked em from making an appointment to repair the defect. I will try again. This is the second burning of the brake light system.

9 Brake Light On problem of the 2017 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 08/12/2019

The rear brake light socket burned. In addition, the brake light was installed improperly making it extremely difficult to remove.

10 Brake Light On problem of the 2016 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 07/09/2019

The driver side brake lights are failing intermittently. However the bulbs are still working. When I switch the brake lights between the left and the right, the problem still remains on the left side. However the problem goes away and all the brake lights are working for a while. I have not figured out a pattern to how long they work to how long they don't work. There is no problem with the switch since 2 out of 3 lights are always working. It is not a light bulb problem because the failure did not follow the bulb after switching them.

11 Brake Light On problem of the 2017 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 11/23/2018

The brake light bulb burned out on the drivers side. I replaced it. Approximately 2 months later the right side burned out. It got so hot it melted the lead on the bulb. The drivers side burned out again, no date, the passenger side has burned out two more times. This last time was 12/22/2019. I have spoken to the auto parts stores and they have told me they have had complaints from other Hyundai owners. I am not sure they were talking about Tucsons. I don't see any recalls but I am taking it in for other repairs on 12/26/2019 and I will have them check the wiring harness. Mydash warning lights notifies me when there is a problem.

13 Brake Light On problem of the 2005 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 06/16/2018

There are multiple recalls on this vehicle, but when I researched on the NHTSA website. It claimed 0 recalls. . . I'm confused!!!!! when I researched on another site it gave me 4 different recalls. And this vehicle is displaying problems that describes at least 2 of these recalls. Brake lights not working. And also slight pull when accelerating. Recall numbers 05v119000 and 09v122000. I was in motion when another driver pulled on side of me and informed me that my brakes lights were not working. And I also believe that I am having problems with my electronic stability control.

Both the downhill brake light and stability track control light came on at the same time. My car wouldn't get out of park, or when I got it in drive, it wouldn't go back into park. Taking it to the shop today, noticed it might be from a brake switch.

18 Brake Light On problem of the 2010 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 11/30/2013

I was at a gas station and positioning my vehicle for fueling. The transmission shift lever got stuck and I couldn't move it to anywhere but neutral. During this time the esc and downhill brake control lights were on. Then I switched off the engine and restarted it, the problem seem to go off. Now it recurs very often at least 5 times a day even at low speeds ~25 mph on a dry road.

19 Brake Light On problem of the 2007 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 09/25/2013

Took vehicle in for oil change and noticed that they recommended changing all 3 brake lights. Verified that all brakes lights were out and esc light on. Went on nhtsb website and found out there was a recall on brake lamp switch for that vehicle. Took car to dealership and was informed that recall did not pertain to my VIN. Said that it had been replaced in 12/10/09 for a recall at that time of the same part. Believe part that was replaced was defective. Dealership replaced brake lamp switch again.

20 Brake Light On problem of the 2011 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 08/14/2013

Incline and traction control lights illuminated on dash, signaling an electrical problem. Discovered that exterior brake lights failed to illuminate upon depression of brake peddle, or would work intermittently. Also discovered that while the vehicle was in this condition, the car would not allow the gear shift to go into park. This was a very dangerous condition for this vehicle and could have resulted in the vehicle being rear ended due to the inoperable brake light indicators.

21 Brake Light On problem of the 2006 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 05/31/2012

When turning right on a raining day, loss of power - no steering or brakes. 2006 tuscon would run radio would be on - battery light and brake lights on - 10 seconds after managing to get out of traffics way - car would move. Hyundai foxed the car by replacing sensors and some other work resulting in over a $1000. Prior major service was serpentine belt and chain replacement on service recommendations - had no issues before the chain was replaced. Ever since - the transmission had to reset for hesitation between 20 and 40 mph and the additional sensor work. Hyundai would not give me any warranty work as my 6 years had just expired. I am taking the car back in tomorrow for the same issue. While driving today in a sudden down pour - the first one since I had the car fixed that I have had to drive in and the incident occurred again except this time I was driving and not turning. Water seemed to get under the engine and something is getting wet. I requested a rental car and I am leaving for vacation on Saturday to the shore. If its not fixed this time - I may have to consider a new car and I just paid it off.

22 Brake Light On problem of the 2005 Hyundai Tucson
