Door Latch Problems of Hyundai Tucson - part 2

Door actuators are failing causing doors to not open/be permanently locked. I have paid to repair one (which I don't have any confidence in), it's happening to another already, and countless others I've read are having the same issue. I hope that I don't run into the issue in a real emergency.

Driver's side rear door will not open. Was working fine - then suddenly neither the inside nor outside handle will open door when unlocked. This is a concerning safety issue since I use this vehicle to transport my 2 grandchildren in car seats - and creates a hazardous situation in an emergency. Passenger side rear door lock failed at 71000 miles. Could not open door from outside or inside.

When obviously unlocked, can feel lock disengage and see lock indicator pop out, door does not open unless handle is pulled multiple times. Driver side was repaired under warranty; both passenger side doors have the same problem but started after warranty.

Passenger door lock won’t unlock from inside or outside. 4-year old grandson could not get out this happened before with the passenger front seat door. Took to dealer and fixed. I am seeing online that many people are having the same problem. This could be dangerous.

Unknown- the rear passenger door won’t open from the outside or the inside of the car. And now this issue is happening with both rear doors and the drivers side door. In order to get into the drivers seat, you have to get in through the passenger side door and crawl over. When I google this safety concern, it seems like this has happened too many people. I’m concerned because if this has happened to others and if anyone gets into a car accident, no one can get out, without trying to break a window and crawl out.

Left passenger door will not open. I have found multiple examples on the internet. The door will not open using the inside or outside handle.

The diver side rear door will not open. Does not open from outside or the inside. If this happens to the other rear door a person could get trapped inside the car.

Yesterday my rear passenger door on the driver's side stopped opening from the inside and outside. The door was unlocked and not on child lock. There is no way opening this door at the moment! it is a safety concern in case of an emergency and passengers must exit quickly! there are no warning lamps and I read on forums that it is a known problem yet Hyundai is charging a fee to diagnose the problem. If this is happening to many vehicles please make it a recall!.

When unlocking the doors with key fob, all the doors besides the driver's side, will open. The drivers side won't open at first. Have to unlock and relock the car several times just to open the door on the drivers side. The same thing is happening when sitting inside the passenger seat on the left handside of the driver, the door won't open from inside out. The door has to be open by someone on the outside. Door lock actuators have failed causing the doors including driver's door not to be able to be opened. Researched online and there are numerous instances of this defect.

If I were to be involved in an accident with passengers in the vehicle there would be no way for the passengers to exit the vehicle, which could result in someone dying. This vehicle has only 55,000 miles on it and Hyundai is aware that this is an issue on their vehicles but is failing to address it. Would like Hyundai to address this issue before it does result in a fatality.

The driver side window motor failed and window is stuck in the closed position. The front passenger window motor has failed and that window is stuck in the down position. My passenger side door and back door not opening from outside. We have a kid in the seat so we have a child lock in the back. Because of that we couldn't able to open the door. When I called Hyundai about that they said they will first evaluate for that I need to pay and then they charge me for the 2 doors. This is very absurd.

First, in 2019, my front driver’s side door stopped working. Since my warranty expired 3 months before the second and third door had the issue, it’s going to cost me over $1400 to get this repaired. I’m a single mother of two and this is causing hardship in addition to the safety issue. I’m getting it repaired and I can update with the invoice of the repairs.

I have had three of the four doors unable to open at different time before repairing them. This is a safety issue putting my daughter trapped in the vehicle with the only way out to climb over the seats. If in an accident she would be unable to get out of the car quickly. I don't understand why this hasn't been addressed by NHTSA yet. Having a vehicle that could trap you in it is unsafe. One door was repaired when still under warranty, the next was repaired and paid for and now it's happened to another door that needs repairs and finally the drivers door appears it's going to have the same thing happen to it. Currently once the vehicle is unlocked you have to pull on the door handle twice before it opens. First pull still feels locked second pull opens it.

My back passenger door will not open from the inside or outside.

The left side rear door will not open from the inside or the outside of the vehicle . . Also now the driver door will not open from the outside of the vehicle and getting worse by the day. Not being able to get my child in or out of the car on the left side is very worriesome if there was any type of an emergancy. It has not been inspected as of yet but I am taking it into the dealership tomorrow 6. 17. 21. There were no warning lights or notification describing the defect of the doors.

I am having the same problem as hundreds of others were the door actuators in 3/4 of my doors no longer function properly. Driver's side rear door cannot be opened from the inside or out.
