3 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2019 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 10/18/2020

On a road trip while highway driving my 2019 cpo Hyundai Tucson/10800 miles, the car did this big jolt and the forward vehicle collision detection avoidance, hazard indicator & service now lights went off. The engine rpm's revved up very high continuously. When I came to a stop the car would barely go with the pedal almost floored. This made the driving thru the intersections with cars honking dangerous. When I turned the car off, it reset itself and was back to normal. The very next day on the highway, the car did the exact same thing with even a bigger jolt and all the indicators above went on again for 10 seconds. Pulled over, turned the engine off and the car reset itself. I got to my destination I took it to keyes Hyundai in van nuys, CA. They decided that the transmission computer needed replacing and did it. After picking it up, the very next day the big jolt happened again also while driving on the freeway. This time the side mirror avoidance system, hazard lights and service now indicator lights went off for 10 seconds. I returned it to that same dealer and they had the car for a week and said that they could not find the problem even after talking to the tech line and engineers at Hyundai USA. I said it sounds like the main computer may be the issue but they refused to consider that saying they couldn't find the error codes. They then told me that the error codes recycle itself when turning the the car on and off and get erased!! I have to return home from my road trip and I am very scared to take it back on the road and drive another 1200 miles. It definitely feels dangerous with the car revving at such high rpm's and it barely moving when I bring it to a stop. This occured 3 times now and I am afraid of it happening again and having bought a lemon, potentially. It was purchased @ webb Hyundai in merrillville, in in March of 2020 with 3939 miles on it.

The vehicle while foot on brake or while in park accelerates on its own! 7 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2015 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 01/09/2020

I have a Hyundai Tucson that has a recall notice. I live in juneau alaska where there are no Hyundai dealers. I contacted Hyundai and spoke with some very nice people who could not help me because of a casemanager named gretchen. Gretchen wanted me to have the vehicle shipped to the nearest Hyundai dealer. That would be impossible because juneau has no road network and barge costs would be about four thousand dollars. I spoke with gretchen about the dilemma. She was rude and demanded I find a way to get the vehicle to the nearest Hyundai dealer. I explained this is not what I was told when I bought the car. I asked gretchen for her supervisors contact information. She told me she was over all alaska and had no supervision. I called the Hyundai customer care center and spoke with tabitha who could not help me because of gretchen and gretchen was the only one who could give her supervisors number. At this point I have a recalled vehicle that the manufacturer refuses to service. Can anyone help?.

8 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2015 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 09/07/2019

First time ever my vehicle quit while I was driving after having it for 3 years. I took great care of my vehicle. I had to get a tow truck to tow my 2015 Hyundai tuscon limited to dealership. I was told it is external component worn out and it will be a week before they can give me an answer. Really??? I asked if this is normal. Wouldn't give me an answer. They cannot provide a loaner car. I think I need to go with dealership that provide a loaner car. I am do my research to see if I should continue buying Hyundai or go with different Ford or chevy.

11 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2017 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 02/11/2019

Takara recall. My vehicle was parked I started the engine. I noticed on the dashboard it said battery low and my car started to go in reverse slowly even though I had my car still in park and my foot on the brake. I turned my car on and off several times as it was slowly going in reverse and I change the gear from park to drive to move forward and it still went backwards. Finally the car came to a stop I turned off the car again and it started normally. This is why I'm writing to you today that my computer screen on my dashboard told me the battery was low and it did go in reverse even when the car was in park and my foot was on the break.

13 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2018 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 09/11/2018

Once my brand new Tucson hit 500 miles on it, it suddenly unintentionally accelerates while my foot is already pressing firmly on the break pedal. The first time, it happened as I was approaching the peak of a hill. I was going 25 mph. My foot was already pressing on the breaks, anticipating the decline, when my car jolted forward and took off. My foot slammed on the breaks even harder, however I watched my speedometer hit 40 mph while simaltaneously, my rpm decreased to 1. . . (yes, down a hill. ) for about 5-7 seconds the rpm and seppdometer would not increase or decrease once hitting 40 mph and 1 rpm. I had to lean over the wheel and slam my breaks to the floor before I regained control of the vehicle. Once this occurred, the car lagged, struggling to accelerate throughout the remainder of the drive (all flat roads). It is now day 5 of experiencing this, and it now occurs multiple times every time the vehicle is in motion, whether breaks are being applied prior, or not, regardless of the type of road I am on (flat, hill etc. ) I was exiting a parking garage that had a mediocre ramp to exit the garage. My vehicle was going 12 mph when I turned right to proceed down the ramp. My foot slowly pressed the break pedal, and my vehicle accelerated to 28 mph, and maintained that speed for 3 seconds, before responding to my breaks. Yes, my foot had the breaks pressed all the way down. Another example, yesterday I was on a flat road driving at 27 mph when it suddenly accelerated to 45 mph, and the rpm dropping suddenly from 2, to 1. After a few seconds of my foot slammed on the breaks I regained control and pulled the car over. I turned the engine off and waited about 5 minutes. When I turned it back on, and began driving (3 minutes left in my drive), the car continued to lag, lunge forward, and could not reach speeds higher than 30 mph. This car is brand new.

14 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2005 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 06/16/2018

There are multiple recalls on this vehicle, but when I researched on the NHTSA website. It claimed 0 recalls. . . I'm confused!!!!! when I researched on another site it gave me 4 different recalls. And this vehicle is displaying problems that describes at least 2 of these recalls. Brake lights not working. And also slight pull when accelerating. Recall numbers 05v119000 and 09v122000. I was in motion when another driver pulled on side of me and informed me that my brakes lights were not working. And I also believe that I am having problems with my electronic stability control.

23 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2016 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 02/10/2017

I have had two emergency recalls due to transmission slipping, jerking at slow speeds, almost stalling out and actcellerating abnormally with the rpm's racing. During each recall, the dealership completes an updated software on the transmission and when I leave the dealership, my vehicle noticeably drives much smoother and normal. A few days later, the Tucson transmission problem begins all over again like the it acted before. I feel this 2016 Hyundai tuscon eco 1. 6lt SUV is a danger to myself and other vehicles on the road. What is my recourse on this continuous transmission problem? it has about 11k in mileage. Can this vehicle be lemon law'd as I have owned it for under a year?.

24 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2005 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 09/13/2016

Esp light on 50% of the time. Had it fixed at dealer under recall and it worked for a year or two and now still does it. Importan safety device that you don't know if it works. Dealer doesn't know and all 05-07 owners I ask have the same problem.

25 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2008 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 07/01/2016

All vehicle lights come on dashboard and power steering shuts off when going through a rain puddle approx 3-4 inches deep. The vehicle will not turn and the wheel locks up. I've been to the dealership multiple times and they told me there's no solution to the problem and that they cannot fix an issue that does not exist. I feel very unsafe driving this vehicle when it rains and the fact that I just paid this vehicle off is making me re-consider it and purchase a new one. I have children and now that we're in hurricane season in south florida I cannot drive while it''s raining on when it hot as hell outside. This is ridiculous Hyundai needs to do something because I'm sure I'm not the only one having this issue. I'm going to file a complaint with the attorney general because I paid 20,000 for this vehicle and I feel that someone should replace this vehicle or perform a recall to find out what's causing the issue.

26 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2008 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 06/27/2016

Esc off light intermittently comes on while driving. If restart vehicle light doed not come on. This is a manufacuring defect & should be recalled. I should not have to pay for a mechanic to fix something that isn't really broken. There is nothing wring with the system. The problem is with the sensor.

27 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2016 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 05/27/2016

Purchased January 2016 - limited awd with factory installed tow hitch. Immediately noticed flickering interior lights and both head lights leaked, one side has been replaced. Later on developed hard start ups, shifting and acceleration issues. Along with intermitting front safety sensors and a glitching center console/back up camera. 7,500 miles in the ac stopped working from freezing over. Took to dealer while on vacation and discovered a melted fuse box cover and burnt tow hitch/ecu wires with an abundance of corrosion. Dealers could no confirm responsibility of the tow hitch harness, claimed it was not factory installed when it was factory installed and even on the original window sticker. We called Hyundai corporate everyday for over a week begging for help with no call backs. Roadside would not cover a tow to the selling dealer. Ended up driving ourselves an hour south to the dealer where it waits for a Hyundai engineer to fly in and look at it. There are recalls for this wiring harness in other models, the dealer wasn't even able to order a replacement part because it was discontinued. We were never notified of this and there are no recalls currently out for our car. We consider this a life threatening issue as the melting wires are a serious fire hazard along with the unreliable transmission and safety sensors.

28 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2014 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 04/24/2016

I was making a left hand turn through an intersection in the outside lane onto the entrance ramp to the interstate. Just before I completed the turn my vehicle swung wide to the right and accelerated, the drivers side wheel braked and locked and the vehicle continued to spin on that tire. When it came to a stop I was facing the direction I had come. Fortunately other cars were able to avoid me and I was able to move the vehicle out of the way. It seems this model had a known issue in 2005. (I did some research when I got home and stopped trembling. ) I cannot find where anyone has reported this issue yet. This is a horribly dangerous problem. I'm very lucky and so are the people on the road with me.

31 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2006 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 05/12/2015

Nhtsa campaign number: 09v122000 (April 15, 2009) esc malfunction light again randomly illuminates. My vehicle was fixed back in 2009 after receiving the referenced recall notice. However the same problem has reappeared. I contacted Hyundai about the problem and they refuse to do anything about it.

32 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2012 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 02/21/2015

Hello, I purchased a 2012 Hyundai tuscon, 2wd, and had a terrible time in this vehicle during snowy/wet weather. I live in silver spring, MD, and was driving the vehicle in snow on February 21, 2015. The vehicle skidded, the tires spun, and the car got stuck several times. Also, the esc (electronic stability control) had to be manually disabled in order to keep from being rear ended, as this functions more like a brake--than a feature to designed to maintain control of the car. I'm originally from chicago, IL, and am quite used to driving vehicles in snowy conditions. This was a most unusual and scary experience with the tuscon. I did an internet search and came across several complaints, labeling the stock tires on the tuscon as 'hazardous' in snowy/wet conditions. Apparently, other drivers have noticed these tires lose all traction during snowy/wet weather. I'm not sure if other factors beside the tires impacted the car's scary performance during wet/snowy conditions. I did contact Hyundai, and they asked me to have the car inspected, which I did. After that I received a letter from the company telling me they had found no problem and that was the end of the discussion. If the problem is limited to the tires, then consumers need to be made aware at the time of purchasing a Hyundai tuscon that the tires stocked by Hyundai are potentially treacherous in wet/snowy conditions.

33 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2005 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 01/01/2015

Vehicle locks and unlocks doors at random, with or without keys in the ignition. Causes battery to fail as it will continue this when not in use. This is the second Hyundai I owned that had this same problem and looking through carfax on used vehicles there are numerous vehicles with repeated electrical problems. The vehicle can be moving or in parked in a garage overnight. Vehicle had me locked inside so long at one point that I was late for a meeting and was about to crawl out a window when I was actually able to use a door. This is a definite safety issue for any type of accident. Rescue could not take place as door could not be opened. This is an on going problem that has not been solved by dealership.

34 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2008 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 05/01/2014

We were driving towards home when the car started to buck as if someone were applying the brakes and sounded as if gears were grinding. The esc idiot light kept going off and on so I turned the esc off with the manual switch and it seemed to work meaning I could drive with no apparent problem. I am certainly very happy that it did not happen at a higher speed because the jerking was somewhat severe at 35mph.

35 Electronic Stability Control problem of the 2006 Hyundai Tucson

Failure Date: 04/14/2014

The esc light will randomly light up. If I stop my car and restart it, it will go away - but eventually reappears. I know I have had this fixed years ago and it is doing it again? is this covered in a current recall?.
