Unknown Or Other problem #1

Today I was out in my 2011 Hyundai Tucson. Two of the lights came on the dash, one is for traction control and the other had to do with hills(sorry my car is at the dealer and I don't have the book to tell you the exact light description; one is orange with a vehicle and little skid marks after it the other is red with a vehicle going down a steep hill). I went to stop at a store and my car would not go into park from drive, the farthest I could get it was in neutral. After messing with it for 5 minutes I finally got the car into park. After leaving that store I went to go to another and had the same issue. I immediately called the dealer for service and took my vehicle there. I have done some searching online and see that this is not a new issue with Tucsons as people with older models(2010 and back) have also had the same issue and some of them report it's due to a bad break switch and once it was replaced they didn't have the problem again. My car was purchased in Feb of 2011 and has approximately 6600 miles.

I own a 2005 bought brand new Hyundai tucsan. Today we went to put something in the hatch using the window and it fell into my hands. The latches are so caroded that they just fell off. This should not be happening to a 6 yr old vehichle.

Unknown Or Other problem #3

After having a service on my 2010 Hyundai Tucson, 2 days later the esc indicator light came on, and the dbc indicator light came on, and the shifter was hard to put into gear. Took it in and they changed the shifter. About 2 weeks later the same two lights came on again, only this time when you pressed on the gas the rpm would shoot up but the car wouldn't move, and the brakes were locked. The car was towed and the map sensor was changed. When I was told the car was fixed I came in to test drive the car and the check engine light was on. I did not take the car. The next day the car was given back to me and the light was off. 2 weeks later the same problem happened again. I was told that the brakes needed to be bled, after a few days the car was given back to me. 4 weeks later the same problem accured again, and the car was towed, another part was changed again. I know that the shop I am working with is trying their best to fix the problem, but the car is scary to drive. At any time the esc and dbc light will come on, and the brakes will lock, and when you press the gas the rmp will shoot up and the car won't move. Twice now this has happened to be on a main highway and I do good to pull over before someone hits me.

Issue: the interior plastic cover attached to the shifter located next to the cup holders will crumple-up after some soda is spilled on it - creating a safety issue because the crumpled plastic will make it difficult or prohibit the shifter to be placed in park or drive. If weak individual encounters this condition on a sloped surface the car may roll up or down the slope because while it may be difficult to place it in park or drive - the car can be placed in neutral. This all started when on a April 1, 2011, Friday trip from cedar park, to corpus christi, TX. I stopped and picked up a burger and coke. I placed the coke in the cup holder and continued on my trip- some of the coke spilled because the lid came loose. I secured the lid on the cup and wiped down the area where the coke had spilled. On April 2, 2011 Saturday, I noticed that the it was hard to shift but did not think much of it . I returned to cedar park on April 3, Sunday. By April 4, Monday, the shifter plastic was a crumpled mess and I had to use a box cutter to cut through the plastic so I could place the car in park or drive. I took my car to the Hyundai dealership where I bought it, and dropped it off to be serviced. So I was surprised and disappointed when the service advisor, called and said that the service manager had directed she tell us that because some liquid had been spilled on the plastic causing it to become sticky - that the repair was not covered by warranty and that we would have to pay $250. 00. There is no excuse for any amount of spilled soda to cause the plastic shift cover to crumple and impede proper operation of the gear shifter. This is a design and engineering flaw which could possibly result in injury or death. A recall to correct and repair this problem needs to be initiated.

I have a 2006 Hyundai Tucson and it has began satlling while decelerating or while turning, the power steering also goes out. One day it will be fine, the next it will stall at least 3-7 times. I have seen multiple reports of this issue on different blogs, all for the 2006 Tucson.

Unknown Or Other problem #6

After driving the car and the engine is turned off it will not crank again immediately. It takes approximately 15-30 minutes for the car to cool down before starting again. In starting the car again, fuel smell is very strong and the car shakes with black smoke coming from the exhaust/tail pipe. The dealer was able to duplicate. In addition, when feet is on brakes, the transmission revel up as if the car is going to take off. This happens when applying the brakes and coming to a stop. The dealer has duplicated the cranking problem. I was told several components were being replaced only to find out that if the fuel pump, fuel pump wiring, cleaning of corrosion from the wiring harness was done, the car still would not crank after driving the car and turning it off. After calling the consumer affairs office several times and was told that a case manager would call, the case manager never called. The dealer requested a field engineer. After the fuel smell continue to worsen, telephone consumer affairs for the fourth time. This time, the first responder answering the phone laughed when I told her that I was afraid of driving the car and feared that it would catch on fire or blow up according to mechanics. The representative snickered! she told me that the field engineer determined that the wiring harness had been damaged when I supposedly pre-wired the car for an after market alarm system. He decided to void the warranty so the dealer stopped trying to figure out what is wrong with the car. I was told I had to fix the wiring harness. The problem with this conclusion is that I never had an after market alarm put on the car nor did I buy a car with an after market alarm system. I have experience the problem from January 2011 and continues to experience. I called for the ceo of Hyundai who never responded. The case is with regional who has yet to call.

The rear window hinges rust out. One hinge rusted out and now the other. If both had gone the window would have fallen out, if on the highway could have been quite serious.

Owner (Hyundai Tucson 2008 GLS) Hyundai customer service and representative is the worse. My vehicle has been cutting off without any warning. I've taken my car to the dealer numerous time indicating the car cut-offs without warning. In addition, I took my car to the dealer in 2009 complaining about the cut-off and not picking up speed. The dealer ourisman Hyundai (laurel) service representative indicated there is a value that allows the air flow intake for the vehicle not opening up properly. Needless to say; they have done nothing. Again the vehicle went back in for check engine light and cutoff. Their explanation, the gas tank was not tight. In 2010 the vehicle cutoff with warning and now is cutting off without warning. To date the vehicle has cutoff without warning more than 10 times to include August 16, 2011 (speed 10 mph), August 17, 2011 (speed 15 mph), August 23, 2011 (speed 20 mph) and August 29, 2011, (speed 60 mph) without warning. Each time, ive taken the vehicle to the dealer; however they cannot replicate the problem. As I mentioned to them, the vehicle cut-offs when it wants to without warning. The cutoff without warning is an accident waiting to happen. The August 29, 2011(at 60 mph) 7:45am cut-off was fortunate the vehicle in the back did not rear end me. The vehicle cutoff, again on August 29, 2011 at 5:45 pm. The vehicle has been with the dealer each time, however they cannot duplication of locate the problem. However, they want me to pay to replace the mass air flow sensor with may not be the problem. The July incident was the first time. The vehicle is back at the dealer trying to determine the problem. Updated 09/08/lj.

Unknown Or Other problem #10

I have a 2005 Hyundai Tucson I have several problems with my vehicle none of which the dealer says he can find but before I crash or loose my life I would like fix. Today, August 1, 2006, I was traveling down the highway at normal speeds and when I step on the brake to slow down they gave. When I removed my foot they were still pumping by themselves. I pulled off the highway and turned off the car when I turned back the car the ep light stated it was off. Then, when it is raining my brakes will lock and I go sliding. The other problem that I have is sometimes my car doors open and sometimes they don't. If I use the alarm they wont budge if I open the door with the key then sometimes the alarm goes off. Then sometimes the passenger door and the hatchback door I have to pull hard to open this door. This are the problems the dealer can not seem to find. The other problems he fixed the compartment for my glasses didn't open right from the day I got it, the mats first put in the car used to fold up when driving because they didn't have a latch, the stabilizer light would go on and the passenger and the driver seat latch where the sits go back cracked. All these wonderful things have been occurring from the first day of purchase to now. I traded in my elentra for a SUV thinking it would be better but I never had problems like this.
