1 Engine Exhaust System problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2020

Vehicle stopped driving under its own power after driving for several miles on a couple occasions. Usually after driving at about 60mph for 30 miles or more. It either bogs down giving time to pull of the road or stops completely after trying to accelerate after a complete stop. Vehicle is giving a p420 error code but exhaust technicians say it is not the catalytic converter. Vehicle will drive after exhaust system has been given time to cool. Compression is bein lost in one cylinder as determined by Hyundai dealership. Dealership claims a new engine and converter is required. Results appear to be the same conditions as listed in sc176 for the kia soul 1. 6l gdi engine. High exhaust gas temperatures may damage the catalytic converter, possibly resulting in abnormal engine combustion and damage to one or more of the engine's pistons and possible piston connecting rod failure.

2 Engine Exhaust System problem

Failure Date: 02/21/2020

4 can shafts exploded and the oil was blowing out of the exhaust. Causing the catalytic converter to fail early as well.
