My car hesitated from a stop sign, then launched forward causing it to uncontrollably jump forward very fast. When I went to hit the brakes they failed to active, and had to pull the e brake. The car has had a software update for the tcm on my dct transmission but the problem seems to not be able to be fixed. This is very dangerous, and could cause a major accident or death.
Veloster Hyundai's 7-speed dct contains a design defect in the transmission control module (tcm) that causes, among other problems, failure to shift, stalling, delayed acceleration, or loss of power. these conditions are hazardous because they severely affect the driver's ability to control the vehicle during normal driving conditions and prevent drivers from accelerating to maintain safe speeds in traffic,.
Problems began April 2017 when I placed my car in gear and it didn't move. I put it in park and then back in gear and the problem resolved itself. I didn't think of reporting it at the time. Oct 2017, while decelerating to make a right hand turn, the rpms shot up to 6500 and then back down. Then beginning about February I would place my vehicle in gear (both reverse and drive) and it wouldn't engage. I recorded these, and the dealership said they could not replicate the problem. In may they replaced the shift actuator and said that would fix it. Then they replaced the transmission in June saying that would fix it. They replaced the tcm and tac and said that would fix it just two weeks ago, and again I am having the same problem.
Filing 2nd complaint. Huge safety issues still occurring with Hyundai's dual clutch transmission. 2016 tucson dct was recalled, and still did not resolve these issues. My 2016 Veloster turbo dct was never recalled and has identical issues. Multiple parts replaced for transmission which did not resolve. Entire transmission and tcm replaced and issue started happening again on new transmission/tcm. Hyundai still not acknowledging issue or know what's wrong/how to fix. Vehicle has already been in service for over 80 days. Have 2 videos on youtube of issue occurring, and ~8 more videos of issue happening that I have not uploaded. . Read more...
