I started to hear a grinding sound when breaking and I took it into a meineke dealer to see about getting it fixed. During a general diagnostic they discovered that 3 of the four brakes were not working and the calipers needed replaced. I was told this was due to a manufacturer issue and that there will be a recall on these parts soon but no eta. They informed me that they have seen this similar issue on many 2019 Hyundai Velosters and there would be a recall soon but I have no eta and I cannot drive my vehicle.
The contact owns a 2019 Hyundai Veloster. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 mph, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine. The contact stated that it sounded as if the engine was revving without the accelerator pedal being depressed. The contact stated that the rpm revved between 5,000-7,000 rpms but the vehicle was losing motive power. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal; however, the vehicle was still losing motive power. The contact was able to stop the vehicle. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle several times however, the vehicle failed to respond while shifting into drive(d). The contact stated the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and advised the contact that clutch packs 1 and 2 showed dtc codes: p090173 and p090b73. The contact was informed that the clutch packs 1 and 2 along with the clutch actuator and the front brake pads, rotors, and fluid needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 61,307.
