Airbag light has been on for a couple days. After thorough research, other Hyundai models have experienced the same problem with the airbag and is under recall. However, my vehicle is not. I proceeded to go get diagnostic testing, which confirmed that the airbag malfunction is the same as other vehicles. My vehicle was in motion when the notice first appeared.

The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Veloster. The contact stated that the air bag indicator illuminated and remained lit. The contact took the vehicle to john o'neil johnson Hyundai (2001 highway 39 north, meridian, ms 39301, (601) 621-5100) and was informed that a new air bag was needed at the cost of $530. The replacement air bag did not work and the dealer had to order another one. The new air bag malfunctioned again so the dealer ordered a spring for the repairs. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 42,000.

Air bag sensor in cushion on passenger seat does not function properly. Air bag light comes on and off multiple times. Vehicle is either in motion or stationary. Light comes on for a week and then goes away for months and comes back again. Mileage since I notice it was 48000. Hyundai said the seat needs to be replaced and I would have to pay out of pocket. This makes no sense this problem should be covered especially since the seats in my car have never been touched or replaced they have the same seats that came with the car. So this faulty system should be replaced by the company. Noticed in the complaints I'm not the only one with this issues seems like it.

I have had to have multiple items fixed on my 2013 Veloster turbo, I have had the factory speakers replaced because they have blown, had to have the a/c control job replaced and recently the red air bag light has come on. Mechanically it has been worse, at 72000 miles or so the turbo blew while driving at normal speed on the highway. This was fortunately covered under my warranty. I started having to replace spark plugs frequently as they became covered in oil, then in February my engine gave out. I took it to the dealership and they did a compression test and told me I needed a new engine. I was out of warranty by 5000 miles so I had to buy a used engine and have it replaced, three months later I got a recall letter in the mail saying the engine management system was recalled.
