The contact owns a 2012 Hyundai Veracruz. The contact stated that while driving at 70 mph, the vehicle decelerated with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle stalled and failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to frank fletcher Hyundai (3111 e 32nd st, joplin, mo 64804) where the failure was diagnosed that the alternator needed to be replaced to due oil dripping on the alternator. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that several years prior the vehicle was serviced at edmond Hyundai (14137 n broadway ext, edmond, ok 73013) under NHTSA campaign number: 14v415000 (engine and engine cooling). The contact stated that the dealer found no issues at the time. The contact then received NHTSA campaign number: 20v705000 (engine and engine cooling) several months after the failure. The dealer edmond Hyundai was notified and advised that parts were not available for the recall remedy. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure or the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

2 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 07/31/2019

The contact owns a 2012 Hyundai Veracruz. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 20v705000 (engine and engine cooling) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact had not spoken with the dealer however, it was confirmed that the part was not available within the recall notice that was received. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The battery warning light and fob warning light would illuminate and the vehicle would stall while idling. The contact had to restart the vehicle. The contact had taken the vehicle to a certified mechanic who replaced the transmission twice. The failure continued and the vehicle was presently inoperable. The contact was scheduled for another transmission replacement when the recall notification was received. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
