2 times had the alternator replace due to a oil gasket leak which was on a recall. After the repairs were done a few months later vehicle was loosing power light coming on while driving. ,went back and forth to the dealer for the issue, they advised battery, had new battery put in vehicle, the power still continue, then was told needed a tensioner and serpentine belt as this was being replace the tech stated oil was leaking from the timing cover which damage the the alternator for the third time. I contacted the corporate of Hyundai and explained the problem and felt that this as well was part of the recall due to the fact that oil was leaking from behind the timing cover (which would not be apparent) the only way to know is once the vehicle shuts down on you) I feel that this is a safety issue. Hyundai representative stated that they would investigate and get back to me, took 2 weeks to hear back from them to advise that the warranty was up and that there was no coverage. I could not quite understand what a warranty would matter in a situation of this nature that was out of my control so I had no choice but to pay the dealership $2,271 to have the vehicle repaired. I strongly feel that this should be covered. I have just recently took vehicle in again for a different recall. Really Hyundai this isn't right.
Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Hyundai Veracruz. The contact stated that she had received a recall notification of NHTSA campaign number: 14v415000 (electrical, engine) however ,the contact stated that the vehicle was taken in for the recall repair, but the technician failed to repair the whole recall and only repair valve cover gasket. The actual recall letter stated that the valve and alternator was suppose to be repaired. The contact stated that in addition, the vehicle on the next day from having the vehicle recalls repaired the contact had experienced the vehicle completely stalled and the vehicle was inoperable. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician stated that the starter failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000. Kc.

My esc off light came on and I could not shift out of park. I could hear clicking in the wheel. . Hit cruise control and wiggled the wheel and it finally went to drive. It would go into nuetral or drive and wouldn't go into park. I put it in neutral and put the e-brake on and turned the key off but of course the key wouldn't come out of the ignition because of this. . . Wouldn't go into reverse. It eventually does after fulling with it. Read about a recall on the cable or some lamp or esc lighting or something in 2007-2009 Hyundai Veracruz's but it is not under my VIN. I have seen lots of complaints on this defect/issue! please help? explain? thank you!.
I am the 2nd owner of this 2008 Hyundai Veracruz. The esc, abs and brake warning lights have been illuminated for months. Two dealers were unable to tell me the issue or to get the lights to turn off. Offered many services (not the awd module). The awd light would occasionally illuminate and I would lose cruise control and speedometer. Mid-March, the car became difficult to start - would turn over but wouldn't stay running once it was placed in drive and stalled a number of times in traffic (very dangerous! imagine left turns across a 2-lane highway!) I have gotten all the recall work done including the alternator and leaky valve cover gasket (not plural). This is a very dangerous problem that is common with these cars. I understand the module is around $2500 to fix and car is just past warranty when these issues start. I cannot with good conscious sell this to another human. Please make them issue a recall! thank you!.
While driving to work at 55 mph my 2011 Hyundai Veracruz made a clunk sound from the engine area and starting dropping speed to around 20mph the check engine light illuminated as well. When I pressed the acceleration it would not accelerate but the car still stayed steady at 20 mph. I pulled over to get out of traffic and turned the car off. I started it back and pulled out and it seemed to correct itself? after another 4-5 miles at same speed it did the same thing once again bit this time I was in heavy traffic on a very busy hwy. I limped to the next exit and turned the car off. I had my car towed to dealership ($225) where they was unable to reproduce the problem?? they said that they could not find any codes? took car back home and sure enough, the same thing happened. Took back to Hyundai in hickory, nc and once again they could not find the cause and tried to say it could possibly be bad gas? they did offer to keep the car overnight so they could drive it. They called the next day and said that it did the same thing with them on a test run and recommended that I allow them to service the throttle body. I agreed, car was ready the next day, drove home and. . . . . Yes once again the same exact thing. I have paid over $700 counting the tow and still the same issues. Took it back to dealership and they said they needed to replace the throttle body????? now I am usually a very easy going person but they just too $484 from me for a repair that did nothing. They did offer to take $100 off the labor so bottom line is I had no choice. Car was ready two days later since they had to wait for the part. Drove home and all is fine $862. 91 to repair the throttle body. Two days later, same issue.

I was driving my kids to school when my wipers stopped working . They were working just fine and then all of a sudden they just stopped working . There was never any signs of the wipers having any problems until they just stopped working that day. Thank god no one was hurt.
White driving on the highway my vehicle started accelerating on its own and kept climbing to higher speeds reaching 100mph and greater, even while pressing the breaks the vehicle still accelerated on its own. Finally after reaching a safe area to do so I had to switch the vehicle to neutral, once slow enough I then placed the vehicle into park and shut it off immediately as it was still revving and the engine began to smoke a little. From there I had my vehicle towed to lithia Hyundai, I was too scared to turn it back on. Thank goodness my children were not in the car and thank goodness I did not have to cross any intersections.
Drivers left front inside door handle began to fail due to what appears to be a breakdown of its elements. Yesterday it complety broke off and I have to use the outside door handle to get out of car.

The abs light, esc light, traction control light and awd light all illuminated. The dealership tried twice to diagnose the problem, but could not locate any codes for it. The third time the issue arose, the dealer decided that there is an issue with the abs sensor. The vehicle is a 2008 Veracruz purchased in may 2009. I was told that the vehicle was just past the warranty period and that Hyundai would not cover this item. It appears that this is becoming a common problem with this vehicle, as there have been at least 15 complaints on the NHTSA site and many more listed in the Hyundai forums online. Please investigate this issue and see if a recall is warranted. Thank you.

The vehicle got harder and harder to put in and out of gear until it would not come out of park until you slammed on the brakes a few times and turned the engine on and off. Then when you got to your destination you couldn't get the car back in park without the same routine. Brake light switch was out. But the dash lights started blinking on and off. Took it to the Hyundai dealership and it turned out front and rear valve covers gaskets had leaked and dumped oil onto the alternator causing it to burn up. Very expensive repairs and possibly dangerous situation to be in.
The vehicle will occasionally not shift into or out of park. The esc light also comes on. There is a recall for this model of car, but the dealership is saying that the VIN shows that it is not subject to recall, despite the fact that the dealership diagnosed the problem as a faulty stop lamp switch. The exact problem with the vehicle is what is described in the summary section of your website. I'm not sure why my vehicle is not subject to recall.
My car lost acceleration and esc light turned on while driving at about 40 mile/hr. The car was pulled over and restarted. The esc light turned off and the acceleration went back to normal. The car was driven to a Hyundai dealer located in corona, CA. No error codes were found, the problem could not be duplicated and nothing was done about the issue.
Since I purchased this vehicle brand new , the tpms light comes on intermittendly . Took the car in multiple times and Hyundai said they cannot fix it unless the light is on at the tome of repair , looking around the web , just about anyone that owns this vehicle has the same issue , this is a distraction while driving and if my wife is driving she freaks out , one day the will be a problem for real and it's just a accident waiting to happen and I will hold Hyundai responsible , why wait for that , please look around the web and you will see that most Veracruz owners have the same issue and Hyundai is doing nothing about it thank you for your time.
2007 Hyundai Veracruz total vehicle failure. Vehicle stalled out while pulling into intersection on way to church. Thank god we stalled before getting all the way into the intersection because cars were coming from both ways. I put the vehicle in n and we luckily rolled back out of the way. Problem was due to leaky valve cover dripping on alternator. I have seen many forums and read of many problems with this happening. Why hasn't anything been done about this? does someone have to get in a wreck and die before there will be a recall. Now I have to buy the parts and change it myself and I can't find any good forums on how to access this thing. Please recall before something happens that can't be fixed. . .
When opening the door, the interior driver's door handle was catching on the door panel. This went on for several months until I pulled the mechanism to open the door and the handle broke. The plastic part physically broke. I now have to roll down the window electronically and open the door from the outside. Exiting in an emergency would be extremely difficult.
