There is a recall for the this vehicle but Hyundai does not have it for my VIN. I brought the car in for a wheel alignment and the repair shop told me that the sub frame is rotted away this is the recall that they had for vehicles the same years as mine. I've been informed this is a very very dangerous unfortunately we cannot afford buy new car.
I was driving the car downhill, approaching a stop sign. My subframe on the passenger side of the car snapped. The front passenger subframe was rusted, and broke. This caused the wheel to come in contact with the wheel well, and made it very hard to stop. I was left in the middle of a busy intersection, with near inability to move the car after I finally came to a stop by having to use my emergency brake. Attached is a picture of the subframe the day of the incident, before it broke. I do not have one of it broken.
