- the contact owns a 2004, Hyundai Xg350. The contact stated that a number of times when he applied the brakes the vehicle accelerated. The contact stated that on 02/16/2007 when he applied the brakes the vehicle kept accelerating and he hit the vehicle in front of him. The vehicle struck the bumper of the second vehicle and there was no damage, a police report was not filed. The contact stated that the roads were slick and wet and he was going uphill. The contact stated that there was slush on the road, and he was slowing down for a turn doing 5 mph. The contact stated that mechanic believed the failure was in the computer that controls how much gas flows into the engine. The current and failure mileage were both 30000.
Vehicle vibrated while driving at a certain speed and pulled to the right. Traction control systems lights were on. Brakes were so hot that they were about to melt. The pedal was real mushy and spongy, and failed at an intersection after picking vehicle up from service dealer. It sounded as if the abs or traction control was trying to engage, but was on dry pavement and would not stop. Again, the pedal was mushy as if it is melted. There was a smell of extreme heat, and the sound of sizzling as frying an egg. This was intermittent. Vehicle is currently in the shop for repairs again, and dealer said they did not know what the problem was. When plugging into diagnostic computer, they were unable to get a code.
2004 Hyundai Xg350. The contact stated vehicle kept breaking down,. The dealership stated it was the axle spring it quit while driving. The contact stated the dealership replaced the axle spring seven times. Also, the brakes caught on fire. The dealership denied that they caught on fire. The contact had three witnesses that saw the vehicle was on fire. The contact had to take her daughter to the emergency room when this happened, she was not injured. The contact was unaware if anything was done to correct the brakes. The dealership was sending a mechanic to the contact's house to work on the vehicle. The problems started as soon as the vehicle was purchased on August 14, 2004. The contact stated , could be out of a vehicle for six to nine months and the dealership will not give her a loaner.
