Our car suddenly developed a fuel leak. We were driving and started smelling gasoline. We parked the car and let it sit for about 30 minutes. We returned to car and once again smelled gasoline. 4 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2005 Hyundai XG350

Failure Date: 10/08/2005

On August 18, 2005 we purchased a new 2005 xg Hyundai. That same day, after est driving, I reported the accelerator pedal did not give a smooth transition when attempting to depress. The service manager said it was probably due to it being new. 1. 0 the following month, we drove the car to myrtle beach SC (approx 1000 miles). After leaving a restaurant, and attempting to enter into traffic across four (4) lanes of traffic, I pressed the accelerator, but the vehicle failed to respond and I entered the four lanes of traffic at idle speed. This proved to be very dangerous. The following day, we took the car to the local hound dealer service department. The service manager reported no failures according to their computer, and said we must bring the car in while it is performing improperly. This same problem occurred on two other occasions while at myrtle beach, but in less dangerous conditions. 2. 0 upon returning to st louis, the vehicle was taken to the closest hound dealership for investigation. Again the computer showed no failures 3. 0 this problem continued while in st louis and occur about 8 times thereafter. 4. 0 I asked for a meeting with the area service rep. Two weeks later he arrived, drove the car and said there was no problem. 5. 0 the same problem occurred again ( about June 2006) twice while my wife was driving. . 6. 0 the accelerator again failed. I drove at idle speed, with flashers on, for about 5 to 7 miles. . We have a five year (5) bumper to bumper warranty from hound, but seems worthless since they intend to do nothing.
