Vehicle has a front rusted subframe in two spots on passenger side it will not pass inspection. It is dangerous to keep driving it it looks like there is a recall on this issue in 04/2009, but it says 0 unrepaired recalls which is obviously not correct manufacturer: Hyundai motor company mfr's report date: Apr 14, 2009 NHTSA campaign id number: 09v124000 ea08016 NHTSA action number: ea08016.

The under body frame and oil container rotted and the frame came apart. Problem was noticed with oil change. I noticed that all of these models years were recalled except 2005 . . . Why not? they were virtually the same car. I want a repair or a rebate for this manufacturer problem since I have less then 100000 miles on this 15 year old car.
1) the vehicle idle is too high. It jerks forward every time I'm at a stop then I want to go forward. I have almost ran into the back of other cars while waiting at a stop sign. 2) the bolts and subframe is coming detached from the car. It has been confirmed by dealership and franchise auto repair places (2 of them) that the car motor is knocking around and the subframe is loose! I've currently spent over $2000 alone in repairs on the suspension, rack and pinion & oil leak & manifold intake issues since purchase in 2019. Besides the check engine light turning on and off, there was no prior warning of the subframe and/or it's bolts being rusted out prior to purchase or prior to mechanics telling me about this dangerous repair needing done. Why is the 2001-2004 Xg350 have recalls on this but not the 2005 year model that is exactly the same specs and materials used as the 2004????????????????????.
There is a recall for the this vehicle but Hyundai does not have it for my VIN. I brought the car in for a wheel alignment and the repair shop told me that the sub frame is rotted away this is the recall that they had for vehicles the same years as mine. I've been informed this is a very very dangerous unfortunately we cannot afford buy new car.
My subframe rusted straight through like the older models of the same car described I was told the problem over many years now but I took my car in recently to get an alignment and that's when it was discovered that it had rusted all the way through and was told it is not safe or usual.
I was driving the car downhill, approaching a stop sign. My subframe on the passenger side of the car snapped. The front passenger subframe was rusted, and broke. This caused the wheel to come in contact with the wheel well, and made it very hard to stop. I was left in the middle of a busy intersection, with near inability to move the car after I finally came to a stop by having to use my emergency brake. Attached is a picture of the subframe the day of the incident, before it broke. I do not have one of it broken.
I was recently the victim of a near catastrophic mechanical failure while operating my 2003 Hyundai Xg350l. I noticed the steering pulling hard to one direction, which made me take it for a tire inspection. The inspection revealed I needed a wheel alignment. The mechanic pointed out that the entire sub-frame was corroded and that it needed to be replaced, while investigating parts and prices, I discovered that there is a standing recall on this model Hyundai for the exact problem I discovered. I called the recall line, received a confirmation number 11209268 & 3a249831; an an appointment for repair at happy Hyundai. On my drive toward the dealership, the tire began to rub into the wheel-well each time I hit a bump, but I was on the expressway so I had to keep going to my exit. As soon as I came out of the exit turn, the car failed and I narrowly avoided a serious crash!!!! the motor was still running, but it would not go into gear. Each time I tried it would make a loud noise. I called a tow to take it to the dealer. When I looked underneath the car, I could see where a piece of the frame failed. I checked the car into the dealer and I was told it would be a week for the repair. I waited a total of two weeks without a call or email. When I initiated a call they told me the person who I was dealing with had quit. The new person said he was not even aware my car should have been serviced. He further said that someone else would have to call me before they would complete the repair. Sir, I work as a driver. I have not been able to earn my living for more than two weeks based upon poor customer service. My car is there based upon every symptom described in your recall, but after over two weeks I still do not have my car. My interview of other mechanics informs me that the repair takes no more than four hours even if its worst case scenario.

I am writing in regard to my 2005 Hyundai Xg350l with 143,500 miles. I am the original owner of this vehicle. On April 16 2009 there was an NHTSA vehicle safety recall # 09v124000 for suspension. This recall was for 2001-2004 sonata, 2001-2004 xg300 and Xg350 vehicles sold in or currently registered in illinois and other rust belt states. The recall pertained to internal corrosion of the front sub-frame. At the time in 2009 I felt I had nothing to fear because my 2005 model was not included in the recall. Low and behold now almost 9 years later from the April 2009 recall my sub-frame has the same issue (please see attached photos). I called Hyundai motor America (hma) customer assistance and they made an appointment for me at ettleson Hyundai in countryside IL where I originally purchased the vehicle. The mechanic at ettelson inspected the car and service writer rich gibbons forwarded results to hma. On December 29, 2017 hma representative juan vazquez denied my claim stating: this prior authorization (PA) is declined due to excessive mileage and time past warranty coverage for this repair. No corrosion campaigns or settlements and the fact that CA case10874702 is not approving any repairs at this time. No one from the car dealer to hma has been able to answer my original question with hma customer assistance: why the 2005 Xg350l model year was not included in the original April 2009 recall? incidentally, 2005 was the last year for this model, Hyundai went to the azera in 2006 to replace the Xg350l. I probably would not be having this $1157. 00 dealer quoted estimate of a problem if it had been included in the 2009 recall. The 2005 Hyundai Xg350 should be included in the original recall for safety. Any assistance you can render would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
My 2005 Hyundai Xg350l was deemed "undriveable" tonight at the service center (after being taken in for an unrelated issue), as the frame was corroded to the point of nearly-crumbling. The car was driven in iowa (always parked in garages) from the year of purchase in 2005 to August 2016. The salt corrosion recall covers model years 2001-2004, but mysteriously does not include model year 2005. I am not the only person with this issue! I am very frustrated that Hyundai does not cover my unsafe vehicle for an issue they created and for which they should be responsible. This is a disappointing and dangerous problem.
